GlenTaylorSucksParticipantThis game is a sham. Admittedly the Wolves suck hardcore, but denying Love a spot on the All Star team is just RIDICULOUS. He’s had 3 30-20 games this season, and the first 30-30 game since Moses Malone. The guy’s averaging like 21 and 16!!!!!

Specialt25ParticipantHe is going to make it. We all knew it was gonna be left to the injury replacement to be named next.
So ofcourse they didnt call out his name today during the broadcast.
Its David Sterns choice, he usually picks the person most deserving of it. coaches are the ones who pick the best players on the best teams usually.
Its only between Love and Parker at this point.
Love: if they choose the best player available who deserves it most
Parker: who is the second leading scorer on the best team in the nba.

MelParticipantYeah the coaches f#cked up man!!
Kids a beast. he’s averaging 16 REBOUNDS A GAME. Come on man. Its about individual play this isnt MVP Voting.. What gives.. its an exhibition

BigDParticipantwhat about LaMarcus Aldridge mate? I think he’ll get in over Love.

RubioTuesdays01Participantid take love over aldridge. 21 and 16 two rebounds higher than dwight howard. not saying aldridge isnt good, but you can’t let the leagues leading rebounder not get in. just like fred hoiberg got hosed on the 3pt contest when he had the best percentage in the league. Thats how you get morons like antoine walker and nate robinson get into allstar weekend. oh yeah..31 and 31 enough said.

mikeyvthedonParticipantIt is not all his fault by any means, and his numbers are fantastic, but the west is stacked at PF. So many people deserve it, but so far I think everyone who has made it is a better player than Kevin Love, even if his numbers are old school good. When your team is that bad, and you are not a perennial All-Star, not to mention the position is full of deserving candidates, your chances is not good.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHow did Kevin Love not make it?
His team is the second worst team in the NBA and the worst defensive team in the NBA… I think that had a lot to do with it.
I’m not surprised he wasn’t named to the team by the coaches.

llperezi thought love should make it, but lets be real it was gonna be very close. There was no gaurantee and he wasnt an obvious lock by any means. SO there is nothing ridiculous and there is no sham.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve given Love credit for a great statistical season, but I’ve never thought he’d make the All-Star team.
His team is just too bad and they haven’t shown any improvement all season.

jeff416ParticipantZach Randolph deserves to be in over Love imo.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 5:53pm #482796

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’d pick both Randolph and Aldridge over Love.
Love’s having a great statistical season, but you can’t ignore the fact that his team is awful… And they’ve been awful all season. They haven’t even shown any improvement.

BOBBYBOBBALBOAParticipantAll-Star Game is about excitement. Put exciting athletic and talented players in and leave the boring old ones. They put up stats and are on good teams, but that doesn’t make them exciting! Give them what they deserve in the All-NBA Teams and give us a show! I mean, really!

Ghost01ParticipantFirst of all, has anyone pointed out Zbo is basically doing what Love is doing, but his team is actually in contention? Hes averaging 21-13, which is awesome. No, he hasnt gone 30-30. That was one game. It was also one of the few games the Wolves have actually won. 11-37 is horrible. Stars dont play on 11-37 teams. Also, since when is Kevin Love exciting? This guy will go 25-15 and you wont even notice him. He is the opposite of excitement. LA all the way, and if not, Zbo.

llperezi find watching love very exciting. The guy doesnt have athleticism but continues to dominate the boards. As for stars dont play on bad teams, why is blake in the game then? Fact is it takes knowledgable fans to watch guys and know who is a star, love is a star. He might not be one of th etweleve best in the west, but there are a few stars that will get left out and his teams record is really what kept him out.

Toronto16ParticipantLove should have made the allstar team. Instead, they give a life time achievement award to Tim Duncan.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:36am #482882

HitsterParticipantTim Duncan is on a team which is 41-7, Love is on a team which is 11-37. Regardless of what stats they put up their performances must impact on their team’s results. I’d have had Tony Parker over Manu Ginobli also.
Blake Griffin has got in from a losing season team but the Clippers have improved recently and he has got in over the likes of David West, Zach Randolph and LMA on more successful teams.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:28am #482890

delfamParticipantA teams record does not matter in all-star voting. All-Stars are the best players. Wins and losses matter in the MVP race but not all-stars. All these people saying he shouldn’t get in cause of his record is ridiculous. How does Blake Griffin get in when Love’s stats are better?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 7:00am #482901

HitsterParticipantA team’s record does carry some weight as you could have a load of guys putting up 20-10 on a losing team making the AS game if you just went on stats. Players like Brook Lopez and even Jamieson at Cleveland are having good seasons but I could not really consider them for the AS game.
Sometimes the AS game does seem like a closed shop with the same faces being voted in year after year but on the other hand sometimes it’s nice to give a player one final AS game. Lets say there happened to be a lockout next year, a fair few of these players are unlikely to be AS players in 2013 and may well have retired all together.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t have a problem with Kevin Love not making it.
IF he was such a star, you’d at least think the Timberwolves would’ve shown some improvement. This team has been awful all season. They’re the second worst team in the league (only three wins better than Cleveland) and are the worst defensive team in the league.
I think he’s a very good player, but I don’t think Love is a star. Stars elevate the play of their teammates and I don’t think Love does that.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 8:11am #482918

WrecklessParticipantKevin Love is a major contributer to an 11-37 team.
But I can guarantee that he will end up playing in the ASG, But his team is losing right now, and I really didnt expect him to be in one of the reserve slots.0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 8:34am #482926
lebronisking50Participanthe should make it, its not his fault his team is bad, he is putting up ridiculous numbers. He should have made it over tim duncan, they only reason duncan made it was because of reputation. They guy averages 21 and 16 and shoots 40% from three. A guy like that should be in there no matter what the record.
