jjonzParticipantFor example the Bulls Had 2 SuperStars/ 1 fringe Star on both Dynasty Runs. Today the top teams have 2 SuperStars (Heat Wade/Bosh) Lakers (Kobe,Gasol) Celtics(KG or Rondo/Pierce). These are teams that have $ where they can make this type of deals. Small market teams Have to draft well and produce Stars. So who has One SuperStar that teams should build around? Here’s my SS to build around. Others that could be built around Bulls 1 SS/Magic 1SS/Jazz DWill
1. The SS i would be around is Monta Ellis. How, first i would trade Curry for defensive wing or upside big man, then draft the best player availble.
Now Lineup M.Ellis/D.Wright (SG or Defensive minded SG think T.Selfolsa)/ SF. G.Wallace PF D.Lee/C. Adrian Bietrus/E.Uoph. One baller off the bench that could get you points & play multiple positions/One rugged big man off the bench. & some rotation guy’s Thats an 8-9 man rotation that could get you to the playoffs.
1SS in Monta/1 Star in G.Wallace/1Fringe Star in D.Lee, remember he hurt his elbow during summer workouts, so maybe we are not seeing his best now.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHow did you get Gerald Wallace without losing anything?

Ghost01Participantmonta ellis isnt a superstar…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 6:44am #481019
jjonzParticipantTraded Curry for G.Wallace & 1st rnd lottery pick. or since the bulls have bobcats 1st in 12, maybe the can swap picks this year or work out something for future 1st rounders. Remimber Bobcats do not like rookies. they traded BWright for JRich a couple years ago.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI don’t think the Warriors would be dumb enough to trade Curry for Wallace and the lottery pick. Curry is going to be a much better player than Wallace. And I agree, Monta Ellis is not a superstar. He’s a star, but not a superstar.

jjonzParticipantSo MEllis is 25 primetime is from 25/26-31/32 that gives me 5-6 optimum years of 25+ ppg. With great position Defense, 2-3 steals a game, 5ast/ 46% from the field/36% from 3 point line maybe an inside presence can help get him more open looks/ Is almost unstoppable on the break, gets to the line 5x game so he puts pressure on defenses. If he is not a SuperStar now what is it about his game that would deter that from happening? I’ll put up the flaws(red flags) turnover prone 3.3 game (so what he’s a playmaker, DWade had 7 or 8 turnovers yesterday). Injury prone, (So what just give him less minutes, keep him fresh for the playoffs) Regardless I don’t see anything besides his defense that would stop him from being a SS

Quincey HodgesDon’t superstars make the playoffs
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 7:37am #481047
jjonzParticipantCBarkley Missed Playoffs 85/86
RAllen 33-49 first year
Bron 1st year 35-47/ 2nd year 42-40
So all things considered give this guy a chance. My only omission is Undervaluing S.Curry. However, the Owner came out in public & said that MEllis is His franchise "Core guy". So to me that puts him higher on the list than SCurry.

Ghost01ParticipantEllis has been in the league for like 6 years and has never made the playoffs, in 07 he was hurt. He isnt a star. He doesnt guard anybody, he doesnt win games. He isnt a superstar.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 7:48am #481058
Quincey HodgesAnd they werent considered Super stars then either unless they made the playoffs before then. Just stars…And super stars at least make the allstar team..Ellis is not a super star. And Ellis isn’t a franchise guy you build around either. They have tried that for years. It doesn’t work because he’s not a franchise guy
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 7:50am #481059
Quincey HodgesYou gotta have a better arguement then that. Ray Allen wasn’t considered a superstar either in his rookie year. And in year 2 barkley wasn’t considered a superstar either. If you arent a Superstar in Year 6 then you are never gonna be a superstar

jjonzParticipantYou’re right

Ghost01ParticipantIn theory, Golden State has 3 "All Stars" in Ellis, Curry, and Lee. Shows you how valuable they really are. This team stinks.

Quincey HodgesHow is Curry a Allstar in theory?..I can understand Ellis and Lee but Curry is good but not Allstar good yeat he’s behind
Westbrook
Paul
Dwill
Tony P
Nash

jjonzParticipant^^^^^^^I lost this one, guess i just like underdogs. MEllis drafted in 2nd rnd 40th pick. To be able to come into the L and put up 25ppg is impressive from any standard but to be a 2nd rnd after thought is even better. So emotions got the best of me & i misjudged based on how much i like his game. But i still like him as the CenterPiece of My franchise.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 8:02am #481077

Ghost01ParticipantI mean in terms of statistical production. He is an "all star calibur player" in the eyes of people who love stats on bad teams. But clearly, he isnt an all star in reality.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 8:07am #481079

BuzzyParticipantI LOLed! "Today the top teams have 2 SuperStars (Heat Wade/Bosh)" BOSH not Lebron? HAHAHHAA
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 8:17am #481090
jjonzParticipantmy bad i meant Bron/Wade. typo

apb540ParticipantIt must be hard as hell trying to post on an American forum lol. I like the idea behind your post thou and I would love to see Monta find his way into the playoffs in the next few years just to see what he really has.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 8:41am #481101
jjonzParticipantThanks man, i just moved on> New Forum. My Cousin was drafted in 2nd round of 2009 draft so i like 2nd round picks that can shoot.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 10:26am #481128

Ghost01ParticipantYesterday on another website, some Heat hater actually said "Bosh may surpass Lebron" i think i litterally almost passed out.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 12:47pm #481195
Quincey HodgesNow that i think about Ellis could have ateam built around him if you are trying to make a playoff team that could possibly get to the conference champinon ship but no futher. I say this because whats the difference between Ellis and Agent Zero when he was at the top of his game?..I think Ellis is capable of getting to that level
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 1:05pm #481203
jaysmith1987ParticipantHe would be able to get his team to playoffs in eastern conference only problem hes in the west and one player no matter how good he is doesnt win in the west.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 2:33pm #481286
TyrekeJonesParticipantWallace is not a star, Monta Ellis is not a superstar nd David Lee isn’t a fringe star, sorry man gotta use better examples if you want people to actually talk about what your idea is.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 6:53pm #481398

Ghost01ParticipantAgent 0 was a monster acouple of those years, but he was on solid teams, and Ellis could evolve into that type of guy.
