Dhamp2ParticipantYes, I’m a big Syracuse fan (Fab Melo sucks and Dion Waiters isn’t 6-foot-3), but Steve Lavin has always been my favorite coach. I like to call him Mr. Slick or Slick for short!!! Well, he’s done it again. So far, he has the #2 recruiting class next year featuring six top 100 players. I don’t even know how he’ll find minutes for those players! And I don’t even want to think about who might be attending St. John’s the year after that. Many people have questioned Lavin’s coaching ability (not me), but reguardless, he’s one heck of a recruiter.
Dhamp2…The greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.
1. How does Steve Nash have TWO MVPs and Kobe ONE
2. I introduced this Web site to Wesley Johnson and dubbed him a lottery pick.
3. I said Willie Warren wouldn’t be a lottery pick at the start of last season.
4. I predicted the Lakers would 3-peat.

llperezi loved steve lavin when he was at ucla and im pulling for st johns as long as he is there. It does not surprise me that he is recruting so well, i honestly think lavin was a better recruiter then ben howland. He had top 100 guys lining up. Probelm is he didnt develop those guys enough and a common criticism of his was that there was not enough teaching or discipline at practices.
