IknoBall12ParticipantJust watched a sick mix of him on ballislife.com and i cant help but see th ecomparisons between him and kevin durant. The size and body types are so similar u would think they are the same player. Miller has a good handle and seemed to ave an ok jump shot but his real strength was attacking the basket like most young big kids. He can be really special tho. Has anyone else seen him? thoughts?

TyroberParticipantYou just watched a clip of some of his best moves and you think he is going to do what Kevin Durant does on a nightly basic? lol

Cardinal_FanParticipantNot even close!!!! Miller has a Shawn Marion type jumpshot with a really low release point that i think would be very hard 2 get off against other elite players his size, secondly from what ive seen he is no where near the explosive athlete Durant is. If anything with improved shooting mechanics i think Quincy Millers ceiling could be a taller lomger version of Paul Pierce becuase he is very crafty, an has a high basketball IQ. But his lack of elite athleticism would not put him in the same conversation as Durant.

MkadozaParticipantShawn Marion-esque is pushing it… actually, checking their release points, the comparison to Durant isnt off by much. The both have extremely quick releases. And their height makes them tough to block. Also, I wouldnt call Durant explosive. He has extremely quick feet, and is a legit 6’10.5" with a Dwight howard wingspan. If he gets a step on you, and has a very quick first step, he’s comppletely by you with his strides. Miller has some of that to his game, will being closer to 6’9" and not nearly as long. Maybe he’ll grow more, but Durants size, skill intersection is what makes him so unguardable. Theres no one 6’10" in the NBA who can run like that. And shoot like that. And HANDLE like that. His ball handling is scary for a player his size.

Toronto16ParticipantEvery draft there has to be one player that is massively overhyped. (Harrison Barnes, Ricky Rubio) But then fails to live up to it.

MkadozaParticipantThis is to say, Durants a best case scenario, and at this point he’s recovering from a season ending knee injury… so we shall see how he recovers…

Mr. ChicagoParticipantCan we agree to stop comparing 17-18 year old kids who have yet to play a college game to elite NBA superstars?
It woul be one thing to say his game reminds me of "said player’s," however to say someone who has yet to play a college game "will become the next Kevin Durant" is out there.

Lotto StudParticipantThe only thing that’s simliar between the 2 are just their jersey #s.

marcusfizer21Participanttrue… and I hate for it to be Quincy Miller… He’s a great kid… I hope he’ll do well… He’s one of the most athletic young guys out there… Kevin Durant 2.0 is kinda out of line though…haha

LAKE SHOWWho does he compare to in college. I think its more fare to comepare these HS guys to guys that are in college or some of these NBA players when they were in college

IknoBall12Participanthes been compared to kevin durant and all i said is that i see comparisons between the 2. I saw his size and bodybuild and see how he can be compared to durant. But as far as cjwhitaker goes and him saying he sees kevin durant as an explosive athlete pleeaassee be real. Durant is a good awkward moving athlete but he is not explosive. He has god feet and whatnot but when u say explosive u are getting into russell westbrook type of athleticism and dont even fix yo mouth to say that. Durant beats people with his body and length. Not with his EXPLOSIVE moves. And a shawn marion jumper? get real. And tyrobe ive seen him lay in a couple of classics i was basicly just trying to point out what i just saw

Cardinal_FanParticipantDurant can go over top of defenders an dunk on them, u have started seeing that as he has gotten stronger, Quincy Miller is long enough to dunk on highschool kids that aint his size but when as the level of comp raises and the bodies get bigger he wont be able to finish over top of guys like Durant does. Every Quincy Miller highlight ive seen hes dunking on a bum, Durant is going over top of legit NBA players, the comparison is not even close. Similar body builds and the same number is all they have in common like sumbody awready mentioned.

IknoBall12ParticipantThats wat im saying. U said quincy miller is dunking on bums. Dont most people highlights u see dunk on someone who doesnt look all that good? I mean bums are pretty much what make highlights. And ye akevin durant is dunking on legit guys in the nba…..Becuz he is IN the NBA. Give the guy a chance to round out before u just bash him with the hes not good he only plays good against bums tag
