Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI was talking with my cousin and he asked 2 questions that got me thinking.
Why couldn’t Yao score more than 30ppg with his stature and shooting touch?
Is Blake Griffin going to be on the same level of greatness at Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI think Blake is going to be great in his own way..In my lifetime the best 5 power forwards were 1.Duncan..2..Karl Malone..3.Garnett..4.Barkley..5.McHale
All those guys have something great about them that made them unique…

BasketBalAllanParticipantI think for Yao it was a combination of things, he did not even get to play a full 6 seasons of basketball because of injuries, some of those games he did play were affected by those injuries. Many of the games he played were when he was just getting used to the league. He played quite a bit of basketball with very good scorers surrounding him, such as Tracy. I never really saw Yao as the type of player that would give you huge outpourings of points, but more as a steady player that you could rely on to help you win games.
As for Griffin, I think it is possible that he reaches that level but he will need to do a few things to get there. He needs to stay healthy, develop an outside shot, find a team that he can really thrive with to win at least one or two championships, develop his defense and learn to block more shots with his insane leaping abilities, and continue his passing, athleticism, and decision making.
