The sacramento kings need help and they need it right now..anothor lose to the rockets and without tyreke..But still they dont have anyone to depend on.

What do you think of the kings in the draft lottery?

    Who should they go after?

Brandon Knight. Good defender, smart player who can spread the floor with his shooting. Not a pure PG which is actually ideal in Sac because Tyreke should be controlling the ball similiar to how Wade and LBJ do.

In FA they could use a few more tough defensive players; Luc Mbah a Moute, Mikael Pietrus, Shane Battier, Matt Barnes all would fit the bill.

They’ve got needs everywhere besides SG and C, and it’s hard to say what PF they would want to put next to Cousins seeing how volatile he is.

My guess is they’ll go for someone who can create for himself and for others to lessen Tyreke’s load. Irving would’ve been absolutely perfect but it doesn’t look like he’s going out. Even though Terrence Jones’ playmaking abilities haven’t caught up with him yet in college he would be a solid fit if they’re picking after 3, otherwise they should go with Barnes, Casspi seems like more of a 6th man to me.

I really expected Jason Thompson to become a solid power foward this year..But he has been so inconsistent and seems more timid now than he did his rookie year..Thompson lack of agressiveness & consistency is 1 of the reasons why the Kings have been disappointing….Another reason is teams have figured out how to slow Evans down…

They need a Point guard or a Small Forward. Terrance Jones would be nice. Or even Perry would be good too. For PG, Either Brandon Knight. Petrie seems to like players who are coached by John Calipari. (last two picks (Tyreke and Cousins were both coached by John Calipari) So that means he should pick either Brandon Kinght or Terrance Jones.

they need a shooter, Evans isn’t the greatest shooter so someone to space the floor at the 3 position would be ideal, the only thing is I don’t see anyone in the draft that high that fits that mold. B. Knight would be ideal I guess since he feels a need and can space the floor for Tyreke to drive.

I would trade Samuel Dalembert and maybe a second round pick to OKC for Eric Maynor, Dalembert would help OKC out alot and Maynor could be the PG the Kings need.

Josh Selby or Jeremy Tyler…Now I am going to get all these negatives because you’re probably thinking that these are both 2nd round or late first round picks…No…We have saw it happen too many times before to not think these guys will bolt up the boards….Selby’s ascent will happen this saturday and continue thru the end the season finish in the top 7 pick range.  Tyler will shoot up the boards in workouts when everybody is reminded that he is a true PF at 6’11 and is athletic and can shoot.  Tho Tyler and Cousins would probably be awful together off court on court their games would mesh.

More realistically Terrence Jones or Knight would be great picks tho I like Selby more then  Knight.

Watching the kings this season, westphal has made a million different changes to the starting lineup. to whoever pointed out jason thompsons production or lack thereof, he wasnt getting consistent minutes until the last couple weeks and he has shined in that time period. ive always thought the most effective lineup we have is

    PG- beno

    SG- tyreke

    SF-greene/casspi

    PF-thomspon

    C-cousins

westphal has tinkered with the lineup far too much and it has obviously affected the way we play. luther head started for a good period of time and it was obvious that he and tyreke didnt mesh well together at all. luther head is far from a starting guard in the NBA. it also hasnt helped that tyreke has had plantar fascitis and a sprained ankle simaltaneously. another thing as far as tyrekes production is concerned is that he is considered our best playmaker and our go to scoring option so teams just try and keep him from getting any movement and it causes us to be limited offensively. im hoping we go after jeff green in the summer and then draft brandon knight or kyrie irving and then hope our other young pieces begin to come together. i also dont think landry and/or dalembert should be here very much longer. i dont like landry’s game as i dont think the PF of team should shoot so many jump shots and dalembert is only good on defense and THATS IT

his injuries are a concern that’s why he’s not playing right now.  The way the Kings look, they might have another 17 win season again.

The league been figured Tyreke out that’s not the problem.  They know what Reke likes to do with the ball they just can’t stop him from doing it he might be the strongest guard in the league by a wide margin.  He been playing injured all year and got Planter Fashitis or however you spell it.

and Cousins needs to stick around in the game by not fouling half of the other team’s roster.

The Kings do need a shooter at the 3. Casspi is the best shooter they have. This way when defenders double team Tyreke him being the great passer he is can kick it out to Casspi who can shoot the 3. So they need to start him along with Tyreke, Beno, Thompson and Cousins. This lineup is young, has players which compliment each other very well. The only problem is Casspi is not a great defender. Greene is better than him but he can’t shoot too well, and that is what the Kings really need.

I agree with what everyone has said. The Kings need to trade Dalembert for a 3. The Thunder’s Jeff Green would be great because he is young yet knows how to win. The Kings could really use a winner on their team because they have lost for so long. So they should do this trade:

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=24z8axh

This trade would really benefit both teams. The Thunder could start Ibaka at the 4 who has done excellent this year, and they could have a center that is better then Krstic, and he could help Aldrich and/or Mullins further develop. And I think we know how the Kings benefit from this trade. They could use a talented 2 guard that could really blossom and maybe start when Tyreke is hurt or be a good backup to Head when that happens. They may not like Krstic because he is kind of soft but they could still use a Center to back up Cousins, because Whiteside is not ready to be a backup. He needs to develop more.

    Kings lineup after trade: Udrih/Head, Tyreke/Garcia/Cook, J. Green/Casspi/D. Greene, Thompson/Landry, Cousins/Krstic.

    Thunder Lineup after trade: Westbrook/Maynor, Harden/Peterson, Durant/Sefolosha, Ibaka/Collison/White, Dalembert/Aldrich.

I hadnt realized it but did yall know that Jason Thompson has started at 3 different positions in his 2 year career so far??  He was a starting C for a while along with a PF and a few times, he has started at the SF spot… What in the HELL are they doing with this guy… Give him one position to work on and he will be good at it… Damn… Nobody can develop when they are asked to play 3 different positions…

And, the Kings need Mayo…Give up Bendo and Landry for Mayo, Thabeet, and a pick…
