    Here is an early topic about who could compete in the dunk-contest. First of all: there should be more (super)stars competing in such events!

    Blake Griffin: This dude can flat out jump, maybe the most explosive leaper in the NBA right now. Only drawback should be his risk of getting injured in something like the Dunk Contest.

    Chase Buddinger: Volleyball-hops, this white guy proves that white guys CAN jump!

    Derrick Rose/John Wall/Russel Westbrook: Pointguards who can jump out of the gym, with Rose definitely the highest leaper.

    Ronnie Price/Will Bynum/Monta Ellis: Small guys who can dunk as the best of them.

    LeBron James: In order to improve his image, he should compete in this competition. Freak of nature with his size, hops, strenght en ball-handeling. Should come up with several never before seen dunks!

    Other potentials: Nicolas Batum, Josh Smith, Shannon Brown, J.J. Hickson, Andre Iguodala, Josh McRoberts, J.R. Smith, Gerald Wallace, DeMar DeRozan, Sonny Weems, Rudy Gay.

     

    Who do you think should compete in the dunk contest?

     

    PS: someone should try to imitate the Vinsanity dunk in which he put his arm through the ring!

    No offense but…

    Chris Anderson gave white guys in NBA dunk contests(and being high while competing in them) a bad name…Budinger could very well change that.

    you guys are forgetting about terrence williams hands down would win the dunk contest at worst finish 2nd !

    IDK why LBJ doesnt do it…Kobe, MJ, all those guys have done it one time. He would murder this sort of competition.

    ^Because he isn’t a great contest dunker. He can run really fast and jump really high and is very strong, which makes him possibly the best in game dunker in the league, but that ability doesn’t always translate to a dunk contest. He wasn’t all that good in the McDonald’s one.

    I don’t know.  I’m kind tired of the whole dunk contest thing.  They aren’t as good as they used to be because stars no longer participate and they dunks are becoming too gimmicky from the dunkers trying to be original.  I really think they need to start doing an NBA vs. Amateurs dunk contest.  The best non-game dunks I’ve seen in the past few years have been from guys on YouTube who just have crazy hops and dunk for a living.
