Mr. 19134ParticipantYes i had a post about this earlier this is the first sight that really has Barnes not going number one. I have been saying for a long time I thought Perry Jones would be the first pick this year but it seems like we got the wrong Jones. I think Terrence Jones will be the first pick, this kid is still only 18 but already has a pro body. He is built tough like Amare but very quick wit the ball in his hands, and good speed in the open court. Plus he just got that moxy. But ONe of the Jones or Irving is looking like will be the first pick and Barnes will probably drops out of the top 3 because I don’t know how you take Barnes over Sullinger right now. Irving, Perry Jones, T. Jones, and Sullinger are ahead of Barnes on my board right now but thats it. It’s a shame Kanter can;t play.

meisi4Participantas everybody i am impressed by the season start terrence jones had, but speaking for me i expected jones to be a pretty good player. but i did expect barnes to be better than he was so far so i guess right now jones is the better player. and i agree that even irving, sullinger and perry jones are ahead of him right now what obviously does not mean they will get drafted higher cause on draft day you have to look at team needs…
but i would like to remind everybody that it is a long season and barnes was a great high school player and maybe better than the rest of the group so give him some time to get used to the next level. maybe he will get better during the season and thats what i expect to happen.
just think its a bit early to crush barnes like it was done in some threads….

OhCanada-ParticipantHe still has to adapt to the way the college game is give him time. He will be fine, the atmosphere, pressure, hype is getting to him. He needs to play within the system and Coach Williams needs to do a better job with his team.

Toronto16ParticipantI said a long time ago I didn’t think this guy was that good, and a bt over rated and I remember receiving a ton of negatives for it. The guy dominated in IOWA!!! I didn’t even know they played ball over there. Now he’s facing real competition and is faltering. This draft is shaping up to look really weak. I just hope my Raps land Kyrie Irving.

lalailaParticipantman it’s just ANOTHER day i’m repeating this…i had him as a LOCK number 1 pick and i just can’t believe he playing very average and just don’t know why..to say he is #1 anymore would be just unfair for 2 Jones,Irving..but now it’s even a top3 question..i think his potential at 6’8 215 7feet arms good athleticism and versatility at age of 18 are very nice but hey he needs to put at leat double digit points, so far his season start is worse than Favors last year

hiphopismylifeParticipantStill gotta give it a a little time, but yeah Barnes is not living up to the hype at this point. I thought if nothing else he’d be more aggressive. Brandon Knight, Kyrie Irving, Jared Sullinger, and Terrence Jones are all going out and attacking. He doesn’t appear ready to be the guy for Carolina just yet.
It’s early though and this could be a coincidence. He could have had a couple of huge games earlier in the year but didn’t play many minutes because they were blowouts. Everyone raves about his work ethic so I won’t be the one to bet against him just yet, even though I haven’t like what I’ve seen so far.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantI laughed when they put him on this without playing in a collegiate game.
I definitely got negatives for this as well.
He has shown some potential, but I never believed he was the sure fire lock for the number one pick that everyone had him has.
And as a Duke fan, I definitely root against him.

surveParticipantMark my words, Barnes still may be number one. Barnes has dominated all the way up until he started playing for UNC. The fact is, UNC is terrible right now and it is affecting his game majorly. UNC’s starting guards are playing about as bad as you can play or rather they are not playing at all and Barnes has no perimeter threat beside him in the lineup. Williams almost never plays Bullock or McDonald at the same time as Barnes. If Bullock gets in that lineup, watch B&B go crazy and watch UNC’s improvement.
