OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI was thinking about this today. Players don’t really seem to improve their ball-handling once they get to the NBA, or even college. How many of you guys have actually seen players improve their ball-handling after they came into the league? Do you think that many of them simply lack the creativity to improve their ball-handling past a certain point?

ilike.panochasParticipantI remember when Gerald Wallace 1st came in the league, he was as raw as it gets. The guy couldn’t create for himself and was just an athlete. He’s improve his ball handling a whole lot and is capable of beating guys off the dribble now. He worked real hard on his game.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI never noticed that. Charlotte is never on national T.V. Speaking from personal experience, my shooting form has improved at a much faster rate than my left hand and crossovers. I also think that confidence plays a significant role.

cabbycabParticipantThis is an interesting question and if you watch some players from college to pros it actually appears that the ball handling has gotten worse. This is most likely explained by the much better defense played in the NBA. Guys are quicker and stronger and can pick your pocket if you expose the ball just for second. Take Rip Hamilton for instance. I remember him being a decent ball handler at UCONN, but now I wouldn’t trust this guy to lead any fast break in the NBA.

MkadozaParticipantIn the pros? Amare Stoudemire, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady (big time), Luol Deng, Carmelo, Chauncey Billups, all saw their handles improve in some way.
