Out of high school, ranked #2 out of Point Guards by Rivals, #5 by Scout.
Followed by 4 good years at Illinois, went 37-2 in 2004-2005 and lost to UNC in the championship game. He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Taken 46th overall by the Jazz.
I always thought he would be a pretty good player in the NBA
Played with Deron Williams once again, the Turkey, then Washington/Phoenix.. then to Italy.
Now what??…

Im all with u on this one. I thought he was going to be a solid NBA player after watching him at Illinois. Big dissapointment, I used to love watching him in the backcourt with D-Will.

My friends that live in Illinois are still talking about those exciting days when they went to see Dee Brown and Shannon Brown play in high school…They said there were highlight after highlight plays…
They also use to brag about how great a nba player he was going to be..After all the boasting they use to do, i had to check him out while he was at Illinois..I told them the light skinned kid (Deron Williams)was going to be the better pro..They laughed..They compared Williams to former UCONN guard El-Amin..They said he was slow and overweight..I said Dee was a poor shooter,too small and lost his man on defense..

Didn’t he play with Luther Head too?
Who would’ve thought he’d be out the league before Luther Head…
& I really thought Dee Brown was going to be better than Shannon Brown..

That was a really, really good Illinois team. I remember they absolutely demolished Wake who was ranked number at the time, early in the season. From that point on, you knew that team went business. Words cannot describe how much I was rooting for them to beat UNC in the title game.
