Derrick Rose- Still struggling from deep, but his scoring is up close to 3 points a game. But his biggest improvement is distributing the ball. Averaging 9.5 assists a game up from 6 last year.

Rudy Gay- His shooting numbers are way up. Scoring 4 more points a game but doing it much more efficiently. Also rebounds are up from 6 to 7.3

Russell Westbrook- Really improved his point guard play last year, but really struggled shooting the ball. This year doing a much better job, scoring 7 and a half more points a ball game. Also playing great defence.

Eric Gordon- With B Diddy on the side line the reigns of the team have been pasted over to Gordon, and he hasn’t disappointed. Scoring 22.9 up from 16.9 and 4.7 assists up from 3.

Luis Scola- With Yao only playing 18 minutes a game. Scola is playing like an all star. Averaging 22ppg and 10.8rpg. A 6 point improvement over last season.

Paul Millsap- Finally a starter from day one. Paul is playing like a beast, dropping a career high 46 on the Heat this year. Averaging 21.7ppg and 9rpg and shooting 60% from the floor, and number 2 in efficiency. A 10 point increase from last year.

Michael Beasley- Was he worth the second round pick Miami? Playing alot of sf and doing it very well. 21ppg in only 31.5 minutes a game. Up from 14.8.

Paul Gasol- No Bynum? No problem for Gasol. 23.2ppg 12.4rpg 4.2apg and number 1 in overall efficiency.

Joakim Noah- Played well last year, and is improving on a good season with what could be a great one for Noah. 16.5ppg,13.3rpg and is 4th in efficiency. Up from 10.7 and 11.

Roy Hibbert – Super Breakout season so far, and the surprising stat to me is his APG, I knew he was a good passer for a Center, but he looks like Divac the way he passes the ball.

Dorrell Wright – Finally getting the minutes and making the most of it at Golden State, early candidate for Most improve player of the year.

JJ Hickson – As expected, he was to have a breakout year this season, and he has.

Nicolas Batum – Despite Portland acquisition of Wesley Mathews, Batum hasnt been fazed and has played solid and is not willing to give up the minutes. With Roy possibly missing some time, he will have to carry some of the burden on offense so I expect him to increase his scoring even more.

All those guys you named are established..

You might consider Beasley a breakout player..But everyone knew what he was capable of doing..It was a mental thing with him..People knew what Millsaps could do..

I think some breakout players are

    1.Roy Hibbert

    2.Wilson Chandler

    3.Marco Bellinili

    4.JJ Hickson

    5.Taj Gibson

    6.Demar DeRozan

Not breakout like they have never had a good season before. But as in the big improvement in production they have made from last season to this one.

Beasley has to be at the top of this list. I just wanted to compare per minute numbers and they are virtually identical to Durant’s. The change of scenery and position (no debate now. He’s a SF who can play PF for stretches) as well as his improved focus has Beasley playing well.

I have no issue with take note of stars who have taken the next step and to me thats Carmelo Anthony. He’s showing why he has to be in the discussion for top 10 player in the league. He’s taking less bad shots, improved the consistancy and range on his deep ball, and is attacking the boards like never before. Competing consistantly on the defensive end, though still not a stopper, he’s really hitting his stride in terms of having a complete game.

The same could be said for Rudy Gay except now hes in the discussion for top 25 player.

I gotta give love to the LA guys…Arron Afflalo, DeMar Derozan, Jrue Holliday, and especially DORRELL WRIGHT!

Over the summer, I said on here that Wright was a better version of Trevor Ariza and all he needed was consistent minutes & I got negged like crazy. Still think I don’t know what I’m talking about?

And Scola played for Argentina’s team. And he was probably the single best player in the whole FIBA tourny

Kevin Love – 18.5 ppg 14.3 rpg in only 30 mpg and a feat no one had accomplished sinces Moses.  Has emerged as a guy who’ll be amongst the leagues top rebounders for years to come.

Luol Deng – with Boozer out, Deng has stepped up his game averaging 20 ppg including a 40 point outburst and finally adding a good 3 point shot to his game.  I think breakout is a stretch, but I thought his early season play deserved at least an honorable mention.

I know he’s been inconsistent, but I gotta vote for DeMar DeRozan.
