RUDEBOY_ParticipantBrandon Roy might be doing himself and the team more harm than good by trying to play thru the pain..He is maybe the 3rd or 4th best shooting guard in the league…But anyone that has watched him play the last few games can see he’s in so much pain…Watching him run up & down the court he looks like T-Mac …Always trailing behind on fastbreaks and losing his man on defsense..Should he stop playing and get treatment ?

ilike.panochasParticipantIm probably being too optimistic, but if anyone can turn this negative into positive, its Brandon Roy.
For one, he is the type of player who does not rely on his athletecism, but rather his elite skill set. I believe he can still be an effective player because of his high basketball IQ.
And second, he is a relentless worker, and he has shown that he has a huge heart, that not even this huge of a setback will faze him. I see him coming back after knee rehabs and still be a 15PPG 5RPG 5APG type guard, he can still be good, but no longer great.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantRoy is going to need to reinvent himself as strictly a shooter and maybe someone who can develop a post game to take advantage of his size. He has to transition himself the way Jordan and Kobe did, but do so at a much younger age. It isn’t going to happen overnight, but it certainly won’t happen until his knee gets back to some kind of stable.
They might be best served by taking him out even if it means taking a major hit this year. If Roy isn’t good, they aren’t any sort of relevant and won’t be going forward.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe said he has no more meniscus left and it’s just bone on bone. He is going to have a painful career, must turn himself into a dead eye shooter. I like Roy sucks that he might never be what he could have been, but he does have to reinvent his game a lot.

whyyouhatingParticipantinjuring his meniscus… in hind sight that was the dump moved on his a even worst move on the Blazers part.
This may be a by product of that series that they lost… you see Bynum is still out…

HaleParticipantCould Roy take a 2 or 3 year break while getting some sort of treatment? He could take all the time he needs for it to set in, than come back and have nice career. Maybe there isn’t anything that can be done though.
