TyroberParticipantSo far this season the best two single performances have been Rondos 24 assist game and Kevin Loves 31 rebounds. Both of these great performances were against the Knicks. Rondo went crazy and got 24 assists against the Knicks and Kevin Love did something we havent seen in almost 30 years on a basketball court in getting a 30-30 game. I know the Knicks defense is bad, but is it really THAT bad?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantRondo & Love’s performances had nothing to do with the Knicks poor defense..Rondo has been racking up double digits assists in almost every game….And Love is in the top 10 in rebounding while playing only 26 minutes…

ChewyParticipanthow can the Timberwolves justify only playing Love 26 mins a game now?

TyroberParticipant@RUDE. Getting double digit assists and getting 24 assists is MUCH different. Love being pulling down 10 rebounds a game and him getting 31 is a HUGE different. How can you say the Knicks defense didnt contribute anything towards their performance? Im not trying to take anything away from Rondo and Love because they are great players and what the accomplished was amazing, but its weird that both of these players had a AMAZING game against one team.

cabbycabParticipantIt’s a D’Antoni coached team…. should be no surprise there. He is like Don Nelson of 21st Century.

sacphil_08ParticipantOf course the knicks play terrible defense… Heres a stat NYK rebounds as a TEAM:43 Kevin love:31
Amare plays no defense whatsoever and never has. His focus is offense and its bad because he could be a defensive stalwart if he put his mind to it with the physical tools he possesses. Look over the years. Lebron had that huge triple double with 50+ points, 10+ assists and 10+ rebounds, kobe also torched them for 60 or more and im sure they are near the bottom of the league in all defensive statistics. And yes rondos 24 assist game can be attributed to the knicks group of guards being unable to stop rondo from running around wherever he wants to be able to see all the passing lanes he creates and forcing help because he’s constantly beating them off the dribble. This is definitely more proof of the knicks atrocious defense

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI know the Knicks defense is bad, but is it really THAT bad?
The Knicks have played at the second fastest pace so far which alone inflates numbers. Those numbers are even more exacerbated because they are awful defensively. The fact that the Knicks were without their best rebounder Turiaf last night and went small had an impact as well.

stanford hoopsI don’t think you’ve been watching the knicks if you think Ronny is there best rebounder. That’s like saying Sasha is the lakers best scorer. 3.4 rebounds a game isn’t a best rebounder numbers on any NBA/college/high school team

Before the game against the Knicks..Love was 2nd in the nba in rebounding averaging 12.8 in only 26 minutes..So if he played 40 minutes he’ll average 23.5 a game…

bdoody42ParticipantLebrons game for 50 10 10 and wasnt a triple double because they took back one of his rebounds after he stole it from one his teammates hands.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI said it last year that Love can be a top 25 player in the league if he was given more minutes…….

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf he was a top 25 player, his record wouldn’t be 36-169. On a good team, he’d be Glen Davis before Baby learned to move his feet defensively.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantLove is also shooting .399 from the field which is just atrocious for an interior player. He’s a terrific rebounder, played really well last night and has a bright future but let’s not get carried away. There are reasons he doesn’t stay on the floor for 35+ minutes a night.

llperezyeah, actually if he got the same number of rebounds per minute and he played 40 minutes, he would average 19.7 rebounds.

If Love’s your best player ,you dont have a very good team..
He’s more like a 3rd option on a championship team..

esperanzafleet69Participantit has more to do with the number of possesions teams get per game when they play the knicks more than the knicks defense itself
