OldSkoolBasketballParticipantI’m not sure whats going on with him and the coach but apparently he is unhappy? Rockets are trying to acquire him and Blazers might try too.

torontoraptors10ParticipantLooking at Kevin Love’s stats this year, he has played nine games and is averaging 16.6 ppg and 12rpg and he is only playing 28mpg and for his career in Minnesota he has been averaging 26mpg. (http://www.nba.com/playerfile/kevin_love/index.html < here is the source) I think his issue is that he wants to play more and since he is putting up those kind of numbers I think he should be playing more. It is definitely the logjam they have at the forward position. I think other players should be moved instead of Love because he is playing well and is very consistent.

nbaretroParticipantIt boggles my mind that the best rebounder in the NBA is on the block.
I think the Pistons really need to jump in there and go get him.

Toronto16ParticipantHe is not on the block, he just wants out due to lack of playing time. The entire timberwolves franchise is messed up right now. Its as if the owners are intentionally losing so they can move to another city or something.

Doubt i would call him the best rebounder in the NBA.
I think Howard & Noah are definitely a notch ahead.

IndianaBasketballParticipantLove doesn’t defend well, but they’d be crazy to trade him.
I don’t think he’s a player you build around or make the face of your franchise, but he could be a very good player on a championship caliber team.

TC_42ParticipantThunder, anyone?
He would be the perfect fit. Great rebounder, great offensive game for a big man. He lacks defense, but I think he would be ok playing with Ibaka and a more developed Aldrich.
Thunder should trade anyone but Westbrook and Durant and maybe Ibaka to get him.
If they let Portland snatch up Camby last year and Love this year, I’ll be really concerned about how conservative they are. They rescinded that Tyson Chandler trade the year before too… for Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox. Ridiculous!

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m not as high on Love as a lot of people, but Kahn should be fired if he gives up two double double power forwards in less than one year. You just don’t do that…

OhCanada-ParticipantI definitely believe he is gone, he gets like 26mpg under Rambis which is unbelievable. He should be their building block, the future of Minni not Beasley. Anytime yiou have someone who averages 17-ppg and 12-rpg in 26-mpg you look past their below average interior defense skills and athletisism.

OhCanada-ParticipantLOL BTPH this is true, they already have Scola who is quite the rebounder, and a variety of talented prospects in the frontcourt. K-Mart really ruined the dynamics of that team with his weak defensive play.

jdstormParticipanti don’t know how it will happen, but this just seems like a classic lakers theft waiting to happen.
If LA offered Bynum their 2 rookies and 2 first round picks for Love, Darko ( just to have an extra 7ft guy) and a wing they have given up on like brewer or possibly webster. Kahn Probably Says yes.
the team that should really make this happen is memphis, trade randolph and his expiring contract to mini for Love, a filler piece or 2 and a massive trade exception.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantAs a fan of big men that still rebound and play with skill and fineese…I don’t know if Kaun is that Dumb though…If it became a 3 way trade where the Pistons send Monroe and Prince to Minny for Zac, and Love ends up back in Memphis
Grizzlies-Conley-Mayo-Gay-Love-Gasol-Vasquez-Henry-Young-Arthur-Thabeet-They still remain a playoff contender and add Love + save money to resign Mayo-Gasol and Love (although It could backfire and they resign none) worst case lineup if they lost all 3…Conley-Henry-Gay-Arthur-Thabeet-Vasquez-Young + draft picks and Free Agents to fill roster
Wolves-Flynn-Johnson-Prince (expiring contract that can teach some young guys for a few months)-Beasley-Monroe-Darko-Webster-Luke-Ellington-Pekovic-Tolliver + draft picks and Free agents
Pistons-Stuckey-Rip-TMac-Zac-Wallace-Gordon-Daye-Villanueva-Bynum-Summers-Wilcox-Jerebko
they can resign Zac who they have coveted for a while and draft BPA with a top 5 pick in 2011…Barnes,Jones,Irving and Kanter are probally high on their early season big board…Fab Melo is a sure fire Piston pick if they have Zac in line…They’ll need a defender and a young Sf (if TMac’s not looking good) Wilson Chandler would be great there…they need a lot of talent…

That is because Nate McMillan is a good coach.

Huh? You do realize Andrew Bynum is a far better player than Kevin Love, right? Also, Kurt Rambis worked as an assistant coach under Phil Jackson. Why would anyone think Phil Jackson would react any differently to Love’s lack of effort defensively? Though I will say this, Kobe has that delicate touch with guys who don’t go hard all the time so I’d be all for seeing how he reacts.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHarden and Green for Love and Ellington…Then the Wolves move Beasley back to power forward and Green to small forward…Harden would their Sg and get great minutes…Rubio needs to get traded IMO, he wouldn’t fit with that type of team and likely won’t be coming to a bad Wolves team…

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI don’t think Detroit would deal young for old. Even if Randolph wants to go to Detroit (he denied it yesterday, though that might mean nothing), Detroit would have to want him. The problem I see with the Pistons now is that the ball doesn’t move. Too many guys are only looking for their own shot Randolph only makes that worse. Minnesota would probably find Tayshaun Prince wanting to sit out for a month with a hangnail if he was traded there. I can’t imagine him wanting to spend any time there. I could see Memphis going for it. It would save them money, and it would be easier to get Arthur time if he shares the spot with Love than with Randolph. Whatever anyone says about Z-Bo, he is no bit player: 35 minutes, 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 50 losses (semi-kidding).

What about this deal?
Atlanta- Gets 3 very good players back
New Orleans- Adds depth and pushes all the chips to the front of the table
Detroit- 24 million in cap space so they can begin the rebuild
Minnesota- Gets Josh Smith who can be the "superstar" guy in place of K-Love

jdstormParticipanti don’t know about detroit as the third team, but the memphis minnesota parts seem to work. some other teams that might want to be the third wheel of this deal include
milwaukee, imagine if they had a post scorer. they have Redds expiring that they could flip.
chicago might look at flipping boozer for zac if they can work out an extension, and pick up a starting SG.

M-DYMESParticipantI dont understand my t-wolves at times. They want to implent the triangle offense and is K-Love not the ultimate PF for that offense? He boards very well, has a great J even from outside, and he is probably the best passing big man in the game right now. I’d imagine that would be a player you would want to build around if you would truly intend on going down that road. Rambis just hates that he isn’t an agressive animal on D. Either Rambis/Kahn needs to keep him and build around him in that type of offense (adding Rubio would be a great combo for the triangle) or they need to move onto new aspirations with that offense. Flynn isn’t a triangle offense PG, he is built for run n gun or pick n roll.
They need to understand what type of players can get the triangle offense running succesfully. Looking back they had their chances to build a phenomenal team to run the triangle but as usual my T-wolves tend to love fuckin up.
PG: Rubio
SG: Curry
SF: Beasley
PF: Love
C: Cousins

joecheck88Participantkevin love is not a championship power forward. he isnt good enough to guard pau gasol, kevin garnett, chris bosh, dirk, etc. im not high on him at all. he of course is a starter on many teams but i cant imagine him on a team trying to win a championship. honestly, i wouldnt want him on my team. he gets good numbers but he just isnt really a great pf. i think he would be better in a taj gibson role of the bench.
