Leonard WashingtonParticipantHey guys, I’ve finally decided to become a member of this site after years of using it and with my first forum topic I wanted to get some feedback on who the starting PG should be this year for UNC. Being that I am a die hard North Carolina fan last year was hard for me to watch. Inexperience and Injuries really took a toll on the team, but things were looking up at the end of the season with Henson coming on strong. If you had a choice out of Larry Drew II, Dex Strickland and Kendall Marshall who would you go with to run the PG. My choice would go would be Dexter Strickland or Kendall Marshall.

RUDEBOY_Participanti think its Larry Drew’s to lose..
they have alot of solid perimeter players..but i’d love to see who will be the ENFORCER up front with Zeller who i think can become an all conferense player if he stays healthy…

Leonard WashingtonParticipantI had an intense hate for Drew last year. He made me pretty sick at times with some horrible pg play. with that being said hes had a year to improve and to get better and Im sure hes getting tested daily by Marshall and Strickland.
As for your other question You, llprez and Mcdunkin always have some good topics going on..their are a few guys out there that are straight up retarded when it comes to their knowledge of the game by some of the dumb things they post though lol

kanyedabestParticipantyA drew was down right awful at times last yr….nvr seemed to get on track
im not to high on marshall for some reason i think he might fizzle out in the collegiate game and that high pacedoffense they run, so i think ya gotta put the rock in drews hands but keep him on a short leash

Leonard WashingtonParticipantFrom the highlight films Ive seen on marshall, I can tell that he isn’t on the same level athletically as drew or strickland, but his passing ability and court vision is superior to their. In the uptempo offense that UNC runs he may not be the perfect fit, but only time will tell. Im sure Roy has his ass in the weight room with Henson though.

JNixonParticipantI think Drew will be the starter and main man at point. Look for him to have an improved season. Strickland I think will be the 2nd PG, and he’ll see about 18 mpg or so. I think Marshall will struggle with his lack of speed and shooting, and play the least of the 3. I expect a limited impact from him. I’m not a believer that he’ll fit in the UNC system.

xavier328ParticipantDrew for now…i dont think Roy will not give Drew that much room for mistakes like he did last year because he didnt have any other PG to got to. At this point i dont think Strickland is a PG is see him more as a two….i wouldnt be surprise if Marshall is the starter late in the season.

KoopstaParticipantDrew gets first shot. But if Strickland develops his PG skills, I think he has a chance to overtake him (if not this year then next for sure). But that is a very big if. IMO I think Strickland will end up being a scoring point off the bench in the NBA. From what I have seen of the other guy, I think he is 2 to 3 years away from being able to help out on the court.
