Without Andre Iguadola…Talk shyt now….I want a bad season and top 5 pick but I’ll take every victory over New York we get this year…That’s 1 and 0 for Philly in the season Series….

I feel like Record aside the Sixers are a better team than the New York Knicks…We just have Brand’s contract weighing us down…But even then Brand is playing great defense and leading these young guys along…I still see us getting a lottery pick too so I know my team isn’t a contender by any means….Thee Knicks faithful whoever seems to think they can make the playoffs and actually win a game…I’m just rubbing their noses in it…

Congrats, I watched the whole game. I admit: You won. Elton Brand played really well, Nocioni did his thing and Lou Williams took it to us as well.

But, NY wasn’t shooting well (Gallo: 4-11, Felton:2-11, Chandler: 4-14 and Douglas: 5-13) so it will be interesting when they matchup again. PLUS, Amare Stoudemire!!!! 21-15 with only 3 turnovers! He played well.

The Knicks have played out of there minds at the start…especially Chandler and Douglas…and It’s only gotten them a 500 record…It’s early still bhut It’s Clear…The Knicks need a Real center and defense…The Sixers need a Real center and interior defense…I’d love to trade Lou Williams…I really like He can get a young shot blocker from somebody in need of a young scoring combo guard…

The Knicks should be starting Turiaf. Mozzy needs to come off the bench ( even though that 9 points was nice) and allow Randolph to take the Turry role.

People don’t realize this: Knicks lead the NBA in blocks and steals per game.

I also need to say, NY needs a slasher. They need someone who can force free throws. They cannot kill runs ( which cost us the Portland and Philadelphia game) we should be 6-1 but I’m not mad at 3-3

Iggy will match up with Gallo next game and I see him sucking again…To be honest, I think the Knicks may finish with a better record than the Sixers but it’s not close talent wise…The Sixers are a more talented team then the Knicks…We just beat you without our Best player…That’s bad…

Gallo wasn’t shut down at all. He missed alot of shots.

If we have a better record then you, you don’t have better talent. You cannot spin that any other way partna.

Would you Knicks fans take an Iguadola for Curry and Chandler trade…It’s inside the division but would you take Iggy now and try to sign Melo in the Summer…I’d take the cap space and replacement Sf…

I thought he was too good to be included in a trade at this point…You gotta see that Iggy is the better talent…and if he were in NY he’d be D’Antoni’s best player, much like Chandler was before Amare’s big night….Mike loves players like Iggy…I’d give you as much as Lou Williams not a 1st rounder of any kind…But you’d have to throw us another expiring deal…how long are Mason Jr and Kelena signed for…

I’d trade you Iggy and Lou Williams for Wilson Chandler, Eddie Curry and another expiring contract…

We’d keep Chandler as a RFA and use the expiring cash on a True shot blocking Center in the Summer…With 10 million in cap space and a sure fire lottery pick, we can Draft Big and sign a center like Greg Oden or Tyson Chandler to patrol the paint…I gotta go but we’ll talk in a few minutes…I have some ideas for the Knicks ….

Andre Iguadala is not better then Amar’e Stoudemire. I’d do it because Iggy fills in the slasher role and is a good rebounder for his position. The Knicks don’t need Lou Williams, we have one under the rookie contract named: Toney Douglas.

Cool, tell me some NY ideas when you back man.

Yeah you can respect your franchise all the way to a borderline playoff seed at which point you will either get swept by the Heat, Celtics, or Magic.  The highlight of your season would be going 5 games with the Heat.  And to top it off you can reward yourself with a mid first round pick and watch more superstars shun the Knicks because any smart basketball player that wants to win (Chris Paul) will not sign with a Mike D’Antoni coached team because i’ll wait while you try to think of the last team that won anything without playing defense.

I am just enjoying the season.  I’m not getting caught up in the whose better propaganda cause any Laker Fan or Heat fan can just come on and sh!t on both our pathetic organizations.

With that said the Sixers are undefeated with Evan Turner in the starting lineup.  Do we really need any more proof that Iggy needs to go and Scarecrow the only thing I disagree with you on is Iggy being our best player.  Iggy is out for delf this year, don’t wanna be here, and takes all Turners minutes and shots.  Turner has already proven to be the better rebounder and shooter.  He needs to be getting 38 minutes a night and learning how to run our team instead of Iggy doing his best filling up a stat sheet while virtually making no impact on whether we win or lose.

And Knicksboy did you seriously say that the 9 points Mozzy scored was nice?  Really tho 9 friccin point?  That is never nice from somebody who is suppose to be your starting center.  In sadder news that was a career high wasn’t it?

Wow it is funny how people are so hype early on about their team give a team at least 20 games before noise talking.  I think the Knicks are good but not great and getting to the playoff regardless if they lose is a step in the right direction.  Also can a newly formed team like the Knicks at least get some time to gel before people say they suck.  Philly may have finally figured out how to play with Brand and that is without Iggy because those players don’t compliment it other.Iggy should be traded for a defensive big man.  I don’t know why they gave up Dalembert.  He must have really pissed them off.  Philly has a young team and they could possibly have more talent than New York but they don’t have the right combination of players.  You can have talent and no chemistry(see Clippers) an continue to lose.  Knicks has some really great pieces and need time to gel.  They Just need another star quality player who can dominate on the perimeter and get to the free throw line like Melo and they will be good.  Their offense would be perfect for Melo.  Also as Felton/Douglas get familiar with Stoudamire on the pick and roll, Knicks will increase their effeciency.

Knicks will be a better team than the Sixers.  They have a couple young guys starting but most likely Turiaf and Chandler will get big mins over Mozgov and Fields the latter who is playing well.  Knicks missed a lot of easy shots and free throws too.  Turiaf 2 before the end of the half and Amare 2 at the end of the game.  Lou Williams was shrewd in his play drawing fouls many on head fakes and got to the line 14 times.  This was the 1st time the Knicks didn’t play well this season.  Shooting 40% with 16 turnovers and were still in the game.  Felton, Chandler, and Gallo combined to shoot 8 of 36 doubtful that happens much.  Don’t get too excited the 76ers have lost to the Cavs, Wizards and Nets twice already this year all weak teams.

shelton theres like 25 teams in the league that can say they need a star quality player who can dominate on the perimeter.  Like how many teams really coundn’t use that?  And yeah pairing Melo with Amare would be good for them wouldn’t it robbing 2 teams of their superstars.  The question is what about the talent they already have that was suppose to be so great.  Gallo was the 6th pick in the draft when is he going to start living up to expectations?  When his shot comes around?  He was just 4-4 from 3 the game prior to playing the Sixers.  And don’t drink the cool-aid too fast on Wilson Chandler he is a solid player with inflated stats playing for D’Antoni.  Look at Lee. He is still rebounding well as everybody predicted but he is also shooting 39% from the floor on his way to 12 points a game thus far.  And he is getting even better looks playing with Ellis and Curry.

The Sixers have the most obvious mismatched roster in the league and it seems like they are not even trying to do something about it.  I didn’t like the Sammy D trade either but i saw it coming he wanted to be traded last year and we got Spencer Hawes back a 7’1 center who can pass and shoot and is still only 22 years old.  Doug Collins wanted a young big man to develop and thats the reason we went out and got Hawes and Brackins.  However Hawes has been virtually non existant all year.  Hawes isn’t really playing any kind of way at all it’s kind of strange he gets virtually no production despite not playing bad.

Yeah and the Knicks just lost to us after we lost to all them bad teams so what does that really have to do with anything.

And Lou Williams had his worse shooting game of the year.  He was 3-14 and still found a way to beat you’s.  Cuz the Knicks D stinks.  Them head fakes and jab steps are things he does all the time if D’Antoni would of actually told his players this or went over game film of the Sixers leading scorer they would of knew this coming into the game and not of been fooled.

At this point I am willing to trade Iggy for anything.  He is only hindering the development of Turner, Holiday, and Young and is not helping us win when healthy.  On the contrary against the Wizards we came back and took a 3 point lead against them while Iggy sat our the 4th only to put him back in with 4 seconds left to have Cartier Martin of all people hit a game tying 3 in his face.  And it was no surprise that we lose while he played in the 4th.

Iggy got extremely overrated while playing alongside Andre Miller and hasn’t done anything close to winning or being great since Miller left town.

Doug Collins and Rod Thorn has to realize the Sixers are better without Iggy and may be playing him now just to increase his trade value.  But knowing Iggy he will just start jacking up worse rainbow shots and let his shooting percentage dip into the high 30’s.

    Turner > Iggy

19134, I never spoke as if a lot of teams would not need a guy like Melo but most teams that are winning have a dominate perimter players.  Kobe, Lebron/Wade, Durant,Roy, etc.  Knicks do not have that as of yet.  Chandler can actually do a lot of things well but he is not all star.  Gallo has the potential but it depends on where his head is at.  Felton is solid and Douglas could be similiar to Billups but better if he learns to run a team like a point guard.  I have watched the Knicks play and they play hard and actually compete on defense but offensively there are times where I wonder what they are doing.  They do show great ball movement at times and when they have at least 2 of their greats shooters make outside shots, they are very tough to beat.  As they improve chemistry wise, Amare will score more in the post and the shooters will get more open looks.  i agree that right now Turner is a better fit and possibly a better player than Iggy in the long run.  I never thought Iggy deserved max money.  I also did not think he could carry a team.  he is better as a sidekick like Bosh.

For one, Mozgov a rookie had 9 points in his 6th NBA game. That’s correct. He looked alright. Mozgov is not a great rebounder but provides 6 fouls in a game and a body down low. Also, I’m thinking now, the Knicks could win like 42 games this season. Stoudemire and Felton can help us win alot of 50/50 games this season. Plus, don’t forget NY doesn’t have Azubukie yet. When he’s avilable: NY will use him and he could rebound and score better then Bill Walker.

Also, Andre Iguadala is better then Evan Turner. Philadelphia would be giving up the season making that move. The best thing the Sixers can do is do a deal moving both Brand and Iguadala in one swoop.

19134, I am old enough to remember when Billups came into the league and played for Boston.  I am also remember him in college.  Billups was no where close to the player he was in Detroit and is now so for you to say that you stop reading because of that statement means you are probably young and was too young to see and early Billups because there is no way you can make that statement if you saw Billups when he first came in.  Douglas is light years ahead of where Billups was at.  Billups started getting good when he learn to run a team which took him a while because of trades and a few injuries and also he came in as a scorer.  Billups D right now is not on Douglas level.  Billups was a great team defender and used veteran tactics to play defense one on one most guys could burn him with no trouble.  I can not stand people who get caught up in hype with all that Detroit and people saying Billups is a top point now people forget his early years.

I have the Knicks at 45 games and 7th place but that is me.  Alos Mr Knick we disagree on Iggy because he needs to go.  they are a better team when he does not play because he does not fit well with Brand and Brand can not be moved and also Brand is actually playing good.  Evan Turner is a better fit playing with Brand than  Iggy.  As they play more together it will become obvious that Iggy needs to go.  I have been wanted Philly to move Iggy since last year and when they added Turner it was like now they have to.  Philly can have a promising future with Holiday, Turner, Lou Williams, possibly Speight and Brand(since they cant move him and he is good for 17 and 9 when healthy at worst) I am not sure about Hawes.  Kapono is good but may fall out of favor.  Young is solid but Philly seems to be trying to move him which is dumb if they trade Iggy because that could open minutes for Young.

RELAX sixers are still 2-5. Its the NBA any team can win on a given night… you can’t say your team is more talented and then say the Knicks might have a better record, thats just dumb. Knicks beat the Bulls the other night in Chicago, did I make a thread that the Bulls may have a better record but the Knicks have more talent?? If the Sixers finish above the Knicks in the standings…. then you can make this thread. way too premature to count a game the knicks gave away with sloppy play as the determining factor in who the better team is.

I got the Knicks at 47 wins mainly a combination of a huge upgrade at the PG/PF position with Felton and Amare and a much deeper team overall.  That win total might be a stretch but they definatley have a lot less holes compared to last season.  2 playoff teams in the East won’t make it back the Cavs and Bobcats.  Right now Chicago and Milwaukee aren’t scaring anyone, some teams are just awful Washington, Detroit, Toronto and Indiana.  Gallo might not be a star yet but this is just his 3rd season, he barely played his rookie year and when is the 6th pick in the draft considered a lock to be a stud player.  Right now he’s shooting 40% on 3’s which is pretty good its the rest of his game that needs work.  This year they’ve given up over 110 pts just once.  Its actually been their offense late in games thats cost them a couple game averaging just 103.7 ppg.  Their 7th in rebounding thats been a strength so far compared to 23rd last year so David Lee hasn’t been missed much.  Defensively their 1st in blocks, 4th in forcing turnovers, 6th in steals, 15th in pts allowed, 21st in opp fg%.  Compared to last year they were 30th in blocks, 21st in forcing turnovers, 15th in steals, 27th in pts allowed, 30th in opp fg%.

The Knicks will be fine once Amare gets going right now shooting just 42% with almost 5 turnovers a game.  As for inflated stats playing in D’antoni’s system isn’t that the same for Nash look at his asts playing with Phoenix compared to with Dallas.  Not sure how much you watch the Knicks but your way off on your posts.  BTW who cares if Douglas isn’t Billups, right now he’s the most improved player in the league.

We are 6 games into the Season, we dont know how either team will do. To say Philly will miss the playoffs is an ignorant statement. To say a .500 team will miss the playoffs is also ignorant. Both teams ar eloaded with talent, have good (overrated) coaches and still have alot of time to get it together. How about Randolph thou, guess hes not making the HOF.

The Sixers have more talent. The Knicks can kill themselves trying to get that 8th seed. The Sixers can very well get into the playoffs with all the talent they have. But I see them trading Iguadola and jumping in the top 10 of this deep draft. Brand is not going anywhere, his contract won’t allow that to happen. Altough I would love to trade him and Iguadola to the Bucks for Michael Redd, CDR and Larry Sanders. Redd’s expiring contract would be like gold in free agency. And I doubt the Bucks would get more than Iguadola and Elton Brand in the free agent market.

@ Swelton Tony Douglas is not and will never be anything close to the player Chauncey Billups was in high school. TD is already like 23 years old and he’ll never be a starting point guard in the NBA. Making statements like that show that you don’t know ish about basketball.

     @Shelton SMH….

I am not mad that you insulted my basketball intelligence and experience I am however deeply upset that you stirred up memories of that 97 draft lottery.  Do you know how close the Sixers were to forming a dynasty around Allen Iverson and Tim Duncan?  One Pick.  ONE.  PICK.  Instead we had to settle for Keith Van Horn who we traded for Tim Thomas which was actually a nice move.  The thing is in hindsight if we wanted to go young and raw we could of taken Tracey McGradey instead.

But you still compared Chancey Billups the 3rd pick in that draft to Tony Dougless the 29th pick in last years draft.  And you are seriously going to act like they came in the league with the same potential and expectations.  Billups was always a stud he was one of the highest rated high scool players and also a star in college.  At Colorado Billups was an unstoppable scoring guard who handled the ball on a string and had amazing strength and quickness at the PG spot.  Billups problem was he wasn’t the best passer coming into the league but was still a world of a better playmaker then Tony Dougles.  But if you mean that Dougless is putting up better stats then Billups in his 2nd season then you would be right.

What happened to the days when, “we are .500, thats respectable,” wasn’t acceptable in NY? Cmon man, .500 might get you in the playoffs but is that really what you want? I mean you will be swept in the playoffs. And for Philly, we have more talent depth wise than NY. Philly has 1 bad contract(Brand). But the outlook as of today is better for Philly than NY, in terms of the future. There is no guarantee NY gets anybody like Melo or CP3. But Philly has Holiday, Young, Iggy, Turner, Williams, Speights, and Brackins. That is 7 young players that NY would take in a heartbeat if they could. If Philly could take anyone from NY, they would take Amare and thats it.

Is wayyyyyyyyyy over rated….We heard Swelton say Douglas is better than a young Billups, numerous fans say that Gallo is a potential All Star and that Anthony Randolph will be a Stud in this league…Chandler is looking like your best player not named Amare and you’ll hear them talk about this guy like he’s gone already( remind anyone of David Lee???)

I’m standing firm in my statement…Record does not alway dictate who talented a team is…The Nets last year were still a better Team than the Knicks who finished with more wins at the end of the season IMO…sometimes wins don’t come when your creating an Idenity…much like the Sixers this year and last…But talent wise, if you took away Amare from the Knicks you have a top 5 worst team in the NBA…Amare really doesn’t equal 20 wins in my eyes…

At this point we’ll have a top 10 pick and some cap space in Kapono to Sign a defensive Center…That’s two more players to add to a young roster…Iggy is still young too and I think we’ll keep Iggy at the Sf spot and just start Turner at Sg…Also Lou Williams and Jason Kapono’s expiring contract would be a nice trade chip for a young defender, that way you keep Iggy and Thad and add the Center we desperatly need …Turner is a Sg not a SF…Iggy is a Sf not a Sg…they can play together when Turner get’s into the starting lineup…Thad is the perfect 6th man…

especially after No Lebron, Wade or Bosh gave them the green light to say Melo in New York 1000 times a day…It’s like he’s a player on their team and he’s in Denver, they get this pass way ? ? ? If Philly fans talked about Greg Oden all day and night like he’s already in line to sign with us we’d get killed for it…I mean I’d love to sign a high profile player but I’m being realistic about it…

I know you can never gamble your future on signing other peoples star players we all saw how that worked out this summer.  And Melo is not Lebron so no matter who they sign they will not be better then the Heat anyway.

You have to develop the home grown talent if you wanna build a winning culture within the organization.

you have guys in your system from the Time they’re out of  high school…You can build guys up and wait for them to pay off…In BBall you have 2 rounds to pick 2 players every year and some years the 2nd pick isn’t kept pass the Preseason…Only recently ( after the Spurs stole All Stars with late picks ) do you see teams value the draft, more noteably the 2nd round of the draft…Teams like New York have shunned the draft and gone for broke trying to steal stars from current NBA teams…They’ve passed up on young talent every year since the early 2000’s…I can’t remember the last great pick the Knicks made…David Lee and Wilson were great picks, especially where they were picked, but they guy that drafted him was run out of town and called an idiot…Now Lee is gone and Chandler could soon follow…I’m shocked he wasn’t added in the David Lee Sign and trade../.

U dont even have to include the top 10 pick because in terms of young talent Philly is already way better than NY. Philly is an example of how you rebuild through the draft. You cant sign free agents all the time and when you do, you have a depleted roster. NY will probably win more games than Philly this year, but what about the next 5 years. I will take 1 or 2 bad years over 10 years of mediocrity at best. Signing Amare was a good first step for NY but if he is all you have to show for the last 8 terrible years, then I am sorry for your franchise. NY needs to keep their draft picks.

And I am not trying to kill Knicksboy, its the Knicks that are messing up. Knicksboy is just holding out hope for the team he has loved through the very tough times. I applaud him for supporting his team and sometimes people let the love of their team get in the way of facts. The facts are NY has Amare and a bunch of average players. Gallo is a shooter with some rebounding potential. Chandler is a player thriving in the system built for his athleticism. Douglas is a very good sixth man. Turiaf is a great hustle player. Point is Knicks arent very good.

Yea because the sixers wouldn’t want Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, Randolph, Mozgov, Fields, Walker…. I can name young players too so?

Philly is 2-5, Sixers fans need to relax, you can’t base trash talking on one game in the NBA.

No we really don’t need them players.  We could use Gallo’s shooting but he wouldn’t see the court much because Collins would play Nocioni over him because Gallo can’t defend.  And we could use Randolphs shot blocking but Collins wouldn’t play him like he don’t play Speights because they have very low basketball I.Q.

We have Williams so we don’t need Dougless.  And BTW they are about the same age.

We have Turner so we don’t need Chandler.

Young is better then Fields, probably Chandler and Gallo too but that is debatable.

And Mozgov succs no we don’t want him I’ll take Hawes any day.

And I love Bill Walker but he hasn’t done anything this season he get stay on the court for longer then 15 minutes a game so why would we want him?

    2. Erratic Knicks Deep-Sixed By Philly

    By Chris Sheridan
    ESPN.com
    Stoudemire

    Stoudemire

NEW YORK — The blame for Sunday’s defeat? It goes all the way back to the end of the Isiah Thomas era.

It’s a stretch, but that’s sort of what coach Mike D’Antoni said after the New York Knicks were outscored 13-2 in the final 4:27, failing to make a single field goal during that span, in a 106-96 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday that erased several days’ worth of positive momentum.

"We had wide-open shots, and we didn’t run some plays exactly as they were drawn up," D’Antoni said. "That stuff happens, and it happens when you’re trying to dig yourself out of a hole, and it’s been a hole here for two years.

"We don’t have that swagger, and that’s where we just lost it a little bit."

There’s no arguing that swagger is a quality that is built up over time, fueled by the successes of the past. But this season’s revamped Knicks have no collective past, and they’re proving to be a hot-and-cold team that can kill you from downtown one night (see Thursday versus Chicago) and then kill itself with an inability to finish in the fourth quarter (see the home opener versus Portland and this game).

The Knicks actually were given a standing ovation by the matinee crowd before halftime after they survived a 70 percent shooting performance by the Sixers in the first quarter and took a 56-54 lead into the locker room at intermission.

The Garden fans remained into it throughout a tight second half, their emotions peaking when Amare Stoudemire stole an entry pass by Jrue Holiday and raced downcourt for a fast-break layup and three-point play that gave them a 92-90 lead. Raymond Felton recorded his 10th assist of the game on the play, becoming the first Knicks point guard since Stephon Marbury in 2005-06 to reach double figures in assists in three consecutive games.

Problem was, that three-point play came with 6:46 left, and a tip-in by Stoudemire (on which he may have gotten away with offensive goaltending) with 4:27 remaining ended up being the only field goal the Knicks converted the remainder of the game.

"Tough game, early game, but no excuses," said Felton, whose 2-for-11 shooting was the worst among the five New York players who each attempted at least 11 shots. "They wanted it more than we did. They played with more energy. The better team won today."

The Sixers have one of the brightest future’s in the Entire NBA…we have so much talent it’s being called a surplus of talent…we have for Wings that any team in the NBA would want…Turner,Iguadola,Thad and Lou Williams are as good as any young four on any team…we just have to get Holiday and Speights playing up to their potential…Hawes could step it up too…I’ll take the Sixers over Knicks talent wise, any day…tHE Only thing the Knicks really have is Eddie Curry’s huge expiring contract and a false sense of security…

i usually dont laugh at statements but he said the sixers couldnt use mozgov, chandler, gallo, randolph, and douglas. mozgov, i dont know because philly has some mediocre centers but battie has many years and hawes was a lotto pick so no we dont need him. douglas is cheaper than williams but pretty much the same player so no we dont need him. we have turner, iggy, and thad at the 2/3 so why would we need chandler or gallo. and randolph at thois point is all hype. he hasnt show much other than spurts of good play. plus at the 3/4 we have iggy, thad, brand, and speights. so really, philly is stacked with young talent(which ill give you isnt a guarantee to success but its a start). philly is brands bad contract, and an iggy trade away from being a great up and coming team.

Yeah Philly is stacked thats why their 2-5 after a 2-5 preseason as well.  So far they lost to Washington, Cleveland and the Nets all teams that are wishing to contend for a playoff spot.  To answer your question on what the Sixers will be if they get a legit Center the same thing they were a few years ago a team that loses in the 1st round 3 of the last 6 years.  They don’t have a franchise player and won’t have 1 for another 2 years.  Iguodala is a nice player but not a franchise one and with 4 years and 56 million left he won’t be so easy to move.  Brand also has a big deal 3 years at over 51 million left.  So while the Knicks were being ruined by Isiah for years the Sixers couldn’t get out of the 1st round and 3 years they missed the playoffs and added 2 huge contracts.  Don’t get me wrong the 76ers have a nice young team developing but your overrating them especially Spencer Hawes look at his stats you want to knock Mozgov who’s played what half a dozen games in the league.  Meanwhile Hawes is in his 4th season of course  you would take him but he’s nothing special.  The Sixers do have more talent but it hasn’t translated into more wins last year or this year basically they are a bunch of parts that don’t fit together.

That statement of the Nets last year being better than the Knicks was just stupid.  The Nets had to win 3 of their last 10 to avoid having the worst record ever.  If the Nets young players were so good they wouldn’t have won 12 games last year.  Devin Harris was awful shooting 40% and 28% on 3’s, he’s got to be one of the most overrated PGs in the league.  The Knicks had a bunch of rookies and expiring contracts put together for cap relief and still won close to 30 games. The last thing about the Knicks being the top 5 worst teams in the league talent wise w/out Amare might not be that far off.  Then again what do you expect they gutted the team for a shot at big name free agents.  Also take away Amare from the Knicks and they’d be sitting on a lot of cap room which they’d have used.  You want to talk about home grown talent look at the best team in the league the Lakers.  3 of their top 7 playes right now came via trade or free agency Gasol, Odom and Artest.  The Celtics, Magic, Mavs and Heat all have star players from free agency or trade.  Its 2010 if you only want to build through the draft you’ll end up like the Twolves and even they made some moves.  Last I checked Chandler, Douglas, Gallo, Fields are all home grown players with a total of 6 years combined experience.  The Knicks weren’t the only team going after Lebron that failed to land him but the big 3 had a plan to play together since the Olympics get over it.  They did land a top player in Amare and still have a very good shot at Mello.  Oh and don’t be so quick to annoint Dougl Collins such a great coach he couldn’t make the Finals even with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.  His career record is 334-292 in the regular season and 15-23 in the playoffs not exactly a Hall of Fame coach.
