But I can show you, THROUGH INTERPRETIVE DANCE!

I have spent years studying dance psychology, and find that John Wall’s head bobbing did bring back memories of Steve Francis’. His Harlem shake was a direct reference to Stephon Marbury, and I think he did 3 different enactments of the John Wall dance, clearly as a sign of allegiance to all three players listed, particularily Iverson’s famous number. Also, he ate a Big Turk candy bar, which gave him the energy he needed to do the really stupid dance in the first place.

But, to answer your question, yes, the dance looked ridiculous, though I am sure people loved it. But, to say he is in the category of those players who never won championships, after 3 whole games, is ridiculous. After the guy did the dance, he had 29 points, 13 assists and 9 steals, not to mention his team won the game. Those players listed were all phenomenal players in their rookie years as well, so I am not knocking them in the least, but John Wall definitely has to be given a chance. The guy could indeed be better than all of them once his career comes to a close, and while he may not carry the Wizards on his back to a title, if he gets the right pieces in place it could definitely happen. If you look at the Wizards current roster, no, they do not have the pieces to win a title. But, John Wall is a PG who I think can definitely be one of the better, if not the best player on a title team down the line. It is all about the pieces, and the aforementioned three players never had them, nor were willing or able to take a secondary role. We do not know that about John Wall yet, because he has yet to play on a team where he has needed to do that due to the fact, and it is becoming clear on Washington, that he is better than anyone on his team. Yes, his dance was stupid, but lots of great players have done stupid dances. You can harp all you want about Reggie Miller and LeBron not having won rings, but I recall a big dancer by the name of Shaquille O’Neal who did pretty well for himself. If John Wall does this dance before every game, well, that might just cause me not to root for him due to its utter ridiculousness, but doing it one time before a game is not going to cause me to write him off in the least, even if he hadn’t had a killer game. If you want to judge people by the way they come into pre-game intro’s, than, well, whatever floats your boat. But, I think doing so is even more stupid than the dance is in the fist place. Plus, not even close to as fun as it was for the fans. I may have thought it looked ridiculous, but it was fun, and the criticism of said writer is just kind of, well, Kevin Garnett.

Listening to Colin Cowerd will get you nowhere.  Its been proven he is an idiot.   

I’ll take this a step further asIverson never danced, Francis never danced (whole dancing thing really seems stupid now doesn’t it), both put up 20-25 shot per game and neither of them passed like Wall does.  Dude scored 29 and took only 14 shots.  he had 13 dimes in his 3rd pro gamegame and is averaging 10+ so far in the early year. 

Throwing out the 1st game where the team let the kid down with thier effort, Wall in the past 2 games has consistently looked for open teammates before looking for his.  In both games he didn’t really look for his shot until well towards the end of the 1st half, even into the 3rd period.

First of all, John Wall is going to be pretty good, a for sure all-star, a great PG and probably from this generation of NBA players a serious consideration someday I’m sure as a HOF candidate. he’s already better than Marbury, maybe Francis, and if he can keep a credible 80% or so from the stripe, and some 3 ball range, balanced with some shot selection, he’ll be better than Wade and Iverson(who btw out of the 4 comparisons are the only HOF candidates).

I think our idea of greatness, and clutch is really skewed these days, compared to the days of Michael, Magic, Bird, Hakeem and so on. None of these players seem to really have that "it" factor anymore(except maybe Kobe, which hurts saying because he’s such a douchebag). Don’t get me wrong Lebron, DWade, Durant. They are all wayyyy better than I’ll ever be, and they are the most talented players in the league. However there has been a really crappy trend over the years, of super talented players who are capable of being great, putting it in cruise control and getting by on talent alone. Did anyone hope that Lebron would have improved his FT% or range by now? DWade the same? work on turnovers? Dwight or Shaq learn to shoot a jumper or from the freethrow line? There are people who work hard and people who are talented, but very few who are both. If you look at Jordan, Magic, Hakeem, they all greatly improved over their careers. Wall doesn’t play anything like the guards the thread starter mentioned (iverson,francis,marbury).  Wall is a pass 1st (and his stats show it with his high APG in just his rookie year) PG who happens to be blessed with elite size,speed,athletecism.  Hes closer to Russell Westbrook more than any of the other PGs mentioned.  Gary Payton never won a title, yet hes a 1st ballot hall of fame and arguably top 3 PG of all-time.  A title doesnt necessarily seal your fate or define your legacy.
