jeff416ParticipantIt’s actually 5 years 40 million, ESPN got the amount wrong. Still it is a bad contract for him, and that probably means they wont resign Randolph.

sheltwon3ParticipantWow this is crazy, Felton got a lesser deal than that and to my opinion he is better than Conley. I am confused about this owners who want to make more money yet they waste money. Conley could not have gottten anything over 6 million on the open market by any rational team. There will be options at the pg position that would have been cheaper and you have a solid core without him so it is not like he is a irreplaceable guy. They only way this make sense is if a healthy Oden come to Memphis because he best friend was overpayed and I think they have the same agent. That is all I can think. Marc Gasol is probably gonna go anyway because most of the players from Spain that played there left. Randolph wants the max and if they can get Oden for half that and the development of Arther, they would actually save and possibly be a better team. I am trying my hardest to see this deal in a positive light just to make it seem rational because right now it seem very stupid to me.

Da1potParticipantThey must be pretty high on Thabeet and Arthur, because with that amount it is unlikely they will be able to resign Randolph for the amount he wants or Gasol for the amount the Grizzlies will likely offer. Since Conley demanded a new contract, I find it hard to believe O.J. Mayo will not be doing the exact same thing some time soon. The Grizzlies are going to have to do a combination of things in order to make sure all of them don’t leave……..

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantNo sympathy for Memphis when their owner cries poor. Absolutely no sympathy when he cries about not having the money for Marc Gasol.

Da1potParticipantThis is good news for Aaron Brooks on Houston. He can probably demand 2-3 million more per year than what Conley is making and get away with it now…..
BTW is there any team in the NBA that you think would give Zach Randolph a max contract??? He puts up nice stats, but is he a franchise player???

NashyMingParticipantHeisley is a weirdo, CWallace is a joke. The Memphis Grizzilies is laughable.
When would someone buy Griz off Heisley and relocate it somewhere?
When all the owners are complaining about player salaries and trying to put a hard cap or lower the soft cap, he pull this stupid move off.
Just a month ago, Heisley is trying to save some pocket change by lowballing Xaiver Henry and Vanquez on his rookie deal. Now, he’s pulling this complete stupidity off. How come there are so many morons running NBA teams to the ground?

Meditated StatesParticipantHe has underachieved big time. Is very inconsistent. One or two good games,6 or 7 bad games. I think they should move on in search of a better poit guard, and Conley is more of a back up.

joecheck88Participanthe now will make 2mil less than rondo!!?! thats crazy. aaron brooks shouldnt be overpaid either but he is definately worth more than conley so ya it is good news for brooks.
this moves makes 0 sense and memphis now has no direction. again, they bid against themselves. they did it with rudy gay and now conley. they should have let other teams make offers for them as rfa like portland is going to do with oden and okc with green. now they have gasol and mayo to deal with. smh, they need to trade randolph to someone who wants some cap relief for whatever they can get.
just absolutely makes no sense to me. i may have given him a deal similar to jared dudley(4 yrs 17 mil) but 9 mil a year? cmon man.
