mxhart532ParticipantI remember the summer of aau ball before my freshman year at the primetime nationals in Dallas we went up against Lance Stephenson’s team and that guy did everything out on the court. We were down 12 in the 4th when I picked his pocket twice in a row and drained two 3’s in a row. After that it was me and Lance going back and forth for the rest of the game. With about 25 secs I hit two free throws to put us up by one. Lance comes down and posts our big guy up for a lay-up but clangs it with about 10 secs left. I ended up with something like 31 I believe, a total I would never come close to in high school. The good ole days 🙁
Good job on the 40 point game tho bro.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI once scored 34 points on 10-10 from three and 4-4 from the line, but it was a rec league game against the worst team in the league, so it doesn’t really count in my eyes. Hardly anybody in that league plays/played at the high school level. One would think that after the 3rd or 4th three, they wouldn’t want to leave me open. Then again, they were already down by 20.

omphalosParticipantI was having a ridiculous game one time with 19 or so in the first half, hitting just everything. I took a 3 as a heat check because I’m not a 3 point shooter at all and nailed it. I started creating for others in the second half because the other team adjusted.
Also, scored 30 in a game once, you really do feel like Jordan when you get hot.

Mr. 19134Participant33
In a very big summer league in Philly for the 18 and under team I was 16. I was balling. It felt like I scored more. The team we were playing was a bunch of shooters that had no foot speed or height and I remember just grabbing defensive rebounds and flying past everybody for easy layups. I was getting into the lane at will and make circus shots. I think I only missed like 4 shots the whole game. I’m only 5’11 (same exact height as Iverson we were eye to eye when I met him) but I got nice hops and crazy speed.
I’ll never forget a time late in the game when I got into the lane and attempted a floater the rolled off the rim only to beat the defender to the offensive glass and put it back in off the glass at which point the dude was like "u gotta be kiddin me shaking his head" haha…i love that memory and it always inspired me in the future for a reference on how great I can be if i just focus my energy.
41 points is beast. What position to you play? And what kind of game you got, like a slasher or a shooter?

Pacers_Fan33ParticipantMy best game: its gonna sound fake, but there was a 40 point swing in the second half and i ended up with 28 pts, 16 reb, 11ast, 6-8 blks (its been a while), me and the point guard on my time scored every bucket in the second half other than 2, he ended with 40 + pts and 15 + assists, the team had small weak post defense and they could not stop a pick-and-pop

kaceyParticipant19 was my best in high school. Hit every shot I took. 7/7 FGs (3/3 from downtown) plus 2/2 on free throws. The team we played was horrible, but they had one guy named Ty Rogers. He played for Western Ky and hit the GW 3pt in the NCAA tourney a couple of years back against San Deigo I believe. Nearly all of my double digit scoring games came against weak teams. I wasn’t the most aggressive offensive player.
But things have changed. Had 32 points in a church league game and almost had a dunk tip in the game (I’m 6’1 with shoes on). The competition was pretty decent. I felt more like Dirk than MJ though, haha.
Congrats on the 43. They will be double teaming you next time you all meet up.

durantula83Participant26 points when I played in 4th National Division here in Belgium. I was a streetballer until I was ninteen and then went to the first team after some try-outs. I beat some guys that eventually became my teammates in a tournament and they hooked me up with a try-out. I’m a pure point guard, pass first normally but sometimes you gotta put your team on your back and that was one of those games. Here in Belgium we don’t play ball in high school or college, most of the ballers start out at 6 years old with a team, practice 2 times and play one game a week. By the time you’re 15 or 16 you’re off to a big team if you really can hang, plus a pro contract which usually starts from 500 euros a month.
Nice thread, thanks for sharing, points for everyone!

PureshooterParticipantBest two high school games:
11/15 – 26 points
3/8 – 11 points, 22 rebounds and the game winner at the buzzer at homecoming
I averaged 14 points and 11 boards as a senior, but the competition was terrible and my team was worse.
I had a few games around 40 in college intramurals, but that doesn’t really count for anything.

NYK2010ParticipantLooks like we have some ballers on this site.
Do we have anyone here thats good enough to play for a college team? If close I say start practicing at worst can use the scholarship money to cover crazy college tuitions.
I never played for a high school I was small in h.s. maxed out at 130 lbs high metabolism I guess also most guys were smaller back than. The varsity team had 2 guys over 6’9". I did play scrimmage I remember in sophomore year in h.s. against a guy who also a sophomore made varsity and I played pretty well against him considering he had almost half a foot in height on me and a lot more skills. A couple yrs after high school I played in some pick up games against a guy who was the PG for a Division II college in NYC, he was impossible to keep from getting to the rim. He wasn’t a big guy but very elusive and had nice handles. Not sure why he never tried to be a backup for St. Johns or some decent local program. Even if your a bench warmer you probably get either a free ride with a scholarship and get to travel for free too. I do know some other guys who played for their high school teams but they were nothing special. Their highlight was starting and scoring 20 pts once.

sacphil_08ParticipantI scored 44 points as a PG/SG. I went 11-14 on threes… It was funny because the other team was playing a 2-3 zone and i one of the guys was terrible at contesting shots so i ran to his side of the zone each time down and at one point i hit like 5 threes in a row until they went box and 1 on me. It was in an "A" division rec league meaning it was top notch. All the guys were at least 6 feet tall and im only 5’9

M-DYMESParticipantIDK, I was not one for keeping track of my own stats. I’d much rather deliver a sick dime than score a bucket on my own in all honesty. Most ever points in one league game was probably 35 or something around that number on some nights when I would be strokin it from 3 and getting to the line. Assists and D was my main strengths though.

SubZeroParticipantIt’s frustrating for me…I go to school at a small private school in Mississippi, and we’ve got a bunch of talent on my team but no one else on the team has as high of a basketball I.Q. as I do, so they don’t see the same holes that I do and the opportunities to score that I see. And my 2 coaches are OBSESSED with our guard/forward (just cuz he’s our best shooter and QB of the football team) so I don’t get many shots. In 9th grade, I scored 11 points in the 1st quarter but was ice cold the rest of the game. Lost in 2OT :/ I’m only 16 and a Junior this year so I have a lot of room to get better and I think I’m ready to take a big step from last year..
Starting PG. 6′ 3" 150 lbs. (The guys in my family have always been reeeeally skinny lol)
Sorry for the rant. I always go on and on when I talk about my coach lol

paint intruderParticipantSounds funny but 65 was my record in a regular season game in an 18 and under league in Germany. I had it going all game long and I kept going to the rim and pulling up for threes. My defender just couldn’t check me and after a while the opponent’s crowd started to go wild. That was the day where I got an invitation for a try-out for a third-division team.

SubZeroParticipant@WizKid I’m tryin man lol, but he really has no clue about anything in basketball. He won’t ever let me pass it in the paint (he’d rather me shoot with 2 people with their hands on the ball than pass it to someone 3 feet away WIDE open, cuz he doesn’t think it works cuz they’re never paying attention) and he HATES bounce passes. He despises them, even though it’s probably the best pass you can make

goneParticipantThe object of the game is to score a bucket so if your play results in a score he cant really say anything

SubZeroParticipantWell it never does because none of my teammates look for the ball, they all just turn and stare at the rebound when during the whole play I’m seeing the pass. I can’t wait to get out of high school, probably gonna go try out somewhere in college. Highly doubt I could make a D-I but maybe a D-II or smaller school

NbanflguyParticipantMy career high is 22, but that was in a scrimmage. Ha i missed my first 2 shots badly but then made like 6 or 7 in a row. A mix of 3’s and 2’s. My most in a actual game is 16 though. That was in a inhouse game where my team lost by like 30.
I scored 14 in a AAU tournament game against Urban Starz. We won 60-58 in OT. Was really fun

McDunkinI was a 6’4" c/pf so my scoring average was never amazing at around 10 or 12 a game. What i was best at was blocks and rebounds. My best game was senior year with 18 points and 28 rebounds.
But for us less offensively talented players here
Best block ever was when this albino kid tried to drive into the lane and shoot a floater i palmed that &$#%#&@! in the air….i felt like i was on top of the world…..now look at me….the 10th man off the bench for the Late Night Crew
