Derrick Favors

 He’s way ahead of what everyone thought he was going to be at this point. He was supposed to be a project, but from ive seen so far the guy has a good basketball IQ, good work ethic and drive. Very impressive. Lopez and Favors should make for a scary front court over the years

I love Favors drive to get rebounds, but it seems like it is all he is cared about out there. He has left open Haslem and Bosh several times because he is getting greedy down low.

I have probably been the biggest supporter of Favors on this site. I have always felt like he is going to be a star. I really like what I’ve seen from him so far. He’s rebounding the ball at a very high clip and he is getting to the line quite a bit as well which is impressive considering he is playing limited minutes. I always liked Favors more than Cousins because Favors is a much better athlete, has more defensive potential and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. Not to mention the fact that there are no real character concerns. If Favors continues to work on his post game and his mid range jumper, he will be scary in 2 years.

Favors is going to be way better than Wilcox. Stop hating lol. Favors has a better chance of being a star than Wilcox.

Favours has been getting decent minutes from the bench probably more than anticipated since Troy Murphy is injured but starting with a veteran like Joe Smith was a wise move as Favours can be eased into the game. The Nets already look much more competitive this season and will not rush Favours but will give extra minutes if he earns them in due course. I’m just saying this now: Favors needs to put 15lbs on. He looks like a SF from what I saw.

Lopez isn’t a superstar coming off a 12-70 season, sure he put up great stats but the finished product isn’t there yet. Alongside Favours it gives the Nets a nice balance and they should compliment each other nicely. If the Nets get 30 plus wins this year and Lopez puts up similar stats then he could be an All Star contender maybe in 2012.

Knick-What are you talking about? Favors is very strong. He’s a legit 250 with a strong lower body. I can see Favors averaging about 13.5 ppg and about 8.9 rpg by the middle-end of season. He appears to be way more active and has a much better motor than I gave him credit for when he played at GT.

I don’t see how Favors couldnt average 10 boards a game this year. If he keeps playing at this level, Avery will play him about 26-29 mins and since B.Lopez is totally allergic to rebounds, there will be heaps for Favors to grab

what about him makes him Chris Wilcox 2.0 and also Wilcox put up good numbers once in a while and I was alway confused why he could not get minutes.  Was his defense that bad.

He actually is showing more of a motor then he has before. I still think cousins will be better because he’s more skilled

 His offense is very reminiscent of Wilcox’ but Wilcox is a bad defender and not as great of a rebounder as he should of been.  Thats why Wilcox didn’t get minutes.  He didn’t rebound and block as many shots and teams thought he would be able too with his strength and leaping ability.

Wilcox has great athleticism..But a poor Basketball IQ. and seems Lazy at times..

Favors is already better the Wilcox ever was.  I don’t see Favors flaming out like Wilcox, although I don’t see him ever being a franchise player either.

Ummm no let’s not get carried away. At one point wilcox was playing pretty well. He put up 14 and 8 in his best season. So no I wouldn’t say favors is better than wilcox ever was
