SubZeroParticipantI was wondering something today…if Dwyane Wade had been put in the same situation as Kobe did, who would be better? No doubt Kobe has had a better career than Wade, but Wade hasn’t exactly had the best teammates to work with until now. If Wade would’ve been put on a team with Fisher, Rick Fox, Robert Horry, Shaq, and the rest of the Lakers team, would he have been as good as Kobe?

andxxxParticipantI doubt it Kobe’s a better scorer and shooter and plays defense just as good if not better especially in his prime, but Wade is definitely close

Im Your FatherParticipantI think in his prime, Kobe could pretty much do everything Wade can do, and he was a better shooter and possibly a better defender.
This is no knock on Wade, it just speaks volumes about what an outstanding player Kobe is.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWhat separates Kobe from Wade is his ability to consistently knock down open shots..That made Kobe a perfect compliment to Shaq’s inside game..And his shooting was very important playing in that triangle offense..He’s like a guard’s version of Blake Griffin..Coaches always worry those types of players will get injured..Wade gives it all he has ,he’s not as good an outside shooter as Kobe..But If you watched his play during the 2006 Finals, you might’ve notice how he put that team on his back and carried them to the title..By attacking the basket fearlessly..

cabbycabParticipantI don’t think Wade is that behind Kobe as a shooter. What separates Kobe is that with his height and size, he is able to post up people. He also has the best handles among all 2 guard in the history of the league. Until proven otherwise he will remain the best player in my opinion. Having said all that, Wade might be the best "small" 2 guard ever. Not many 6’2” to 6’4” two guards have success in the NBA, let alone dominate like Wade does.

SteroidParticipantI doubt it. I think we have forgotten how good Kobe was before all these injuries started pilling on. Kobe’s jumpshot and skill with the ball is the main reason he still can play at a high level and arguably be the best player in the league. Kobe was very athletic before he had knee problems.

llperezi think kobe is just better then wade regardless of teammates. People like to write off what he did when he played with shaq like he was just some second bannana, but he was all nba 1st team offense and defense and was capable of taking over games. Kobe without shaq with the lakers struggling was the most feared player in the game hands down. Kobe today in his 15th season is still better then a prime wade in my book. SO i think you could take the whole who they played with thing out of it.

IndianaBasketballParticipant"possibly a better defender."
There’s no "possibly" about it… Kobe in his prime was a MUCH better defender than Wade. Wade gets plenty of steals and can give you a block, but he isn’t anything close to being the lockdown on ball defender that Kobe was.

Im Your FatherParticipantFair enough. On another note, I think Kobe is actually underrated as an athlete. He was actually one of the best dunkers I’ve ever seen. Number 4 on this list is outrageous.

IndianaBasketballParticipantKobe wasn’t a freak athlete, but he was definitely an elite one.
He was a great jumper. He could jump off of either foot (not natural for right handers to be great jumpers off of the right foot) and could go off of two feet as well. That dunk on Yao was off of two feet. He had a nasty dunk on Ben Wallace off of two feet as well.
