delfamParticipantfirst play of the game he clanks a 15 footer, he might get the Rondo treatment which will take away a lot of his speed. Rondo can compensate but Wall isn’t a great passer in the half-court yet. Could be a long season for Washington till he gets a jumper.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHis jumper is a work in progress. I think he still running the offense instead of being the offense.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWiz, I’m not bashing him at all. I think right now, he’s making the right moves in trying to get the teammates to score 1st, but I rather see him score first, look to pass 2nd.
No bashing at all man.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWade had an ugly ass jumper when he 1st came into the league…give dude time..
speaking of the Wizards..I saw on someone’s Twiitter Page that writes for a DC Newspaper, that the Wizard Organization Suspended Arenas 5 games for Faking that injury…They say Arenas recieved a 50,000 fine and a 5 game suspension..dont know if the suspension is true..

SubZeroParticipantYeah Rudeboy, I remember Wade couldn’t hit a 3 to save his life the first few years he was in the league. Luckily, a jump shot is the easiest thing to teach in basketball, and Wall’s best attributes are mainly things that you can’t teach or some people just can’t get

WizardofOzParticipantHis jumper is a problem, but we all knew it was a problem coming into the season and he’s still young. Give him time. His jumper will get better as time goes on.I heard that he’s been dedicated to improving that jumper, so you know he puts in the work.
He still struggles to create in the half-court which he might struggle with for a while, but is great in transition, wheter he scores or gives an assist. What he needs is good shooters. Once he gets good shooters around him, his play should improve.
Just give him a few years and he will be a top NBA PG.

TheWizardParticipant2 of the four blocks which Javale Mcgee had were clearly goaltending. They need to start paying more attention to if the ball has reached its peak when blocked.

WizardofOzParticipantAl Thornton has really impressed me with his play. He is very tough and aggressive, has a nice mid-range shot, and plays good D. He showed good work ethic over the offseason because he admitted he was overweight last season and shed some pounds during the offseason. He does need to improve his 3-point shot though.

JNixonParticipantJohn Wall reminds me so much of Dwyane Wade when he was younger, that it’s scary. Most also forget that Wade was a PG for the Heat as a rookie too, along with the fact that he lacked range on his shot. Wall shows a promising mid-range game too, for what it’s worth. His shot is below average no matter how you slice it, but he does show the ability to make 15 foot shots off the dribble sporadically, which is kinda rare for a "bad shooter."

JNixonParticipantHe probably will be able to play minutes at the SG spot as his jump shot improves, but he’s definitely a PG. He shows too much passing skills to not be a primary PG.

OhCanada-ParticipantWould you put Westbrook or Rose at SG if they gained a more reliable jumper? I wouldnt their quickness and strength at the PG position is too much of an advantage to pass up. Imagine if they are able to draft a great SF like Harrison Barnes, or Perry Jones and aqcuire a Center like Gasol this offseason. That would be a very good lineup with McGee getting minutes at PF .

Neither one of them is teamed with a combo guard like Gilbert Arenas/Kirk Hinrich, so they would never have to worry about playing anything besides PG. Situations matter in utilizing player versatility.

SubZeroParticipantAs a John Wall/Wizards fan, I think it would be better if the Wizards tanked this year instead of getting the 8th seed and getting destroyed by the Heat so they can get another top 5 pick. Next year’s draft’s top 5 is oozing with potential
0- Posted on: Sat, 10/30/2010 - 3:14pm #423512

WizardofOzParticipantI’m not saying that the Wizards should tank, but if the Wizards end up losing a lot of games this season and get a top 5 pick, they would be in a good situation because they would be able to get their franchise SF. SF is the Wizards weakest position and they could end up getting a great player like Perry Jones or Harrison Barnes.

@WizardOfOz, yeah that’s what I meant. I just think missing the playoffs and getting a potential franchise player is better than barely making the playoffs, getting destroyed and drafting someone that might put in about 8 points a game

sheltwon3ParticipantJohn Wall will be rookie of the year because he will get the minutes and make Wiz respectable and the 8th spot is for grabs. Also it is better for a younger team to get to the playoffs then back to the lottery. playoff experience no matter how painful is good for young teams growth. I like Blake’s game but he can’t help the Clips by himself and he does not have the personality to go outside of the team’s concept to get points and stats. I am not saying Wall is but Wall is in the position where he is the offense and everything for the Wiz while Arenas is out.

WizardofOzParticipantThe Wizards lost, but I was impressed by the way they played. John Wall DOMINATED late in the game. He just took over in the 3rd quater and was penetrating and drwing fouls. His jumpshot was also starting to fall.
I was impressed with the way McGee played. He did what he was supposed to do on offense, didn’t make any bonehead plays on defense, and had a block party. 7 BLOCKS!!! CRAZY!
Andray Blatche had a much better game than the first game vs. Orlando. Struggled a bit at the start, but started heaing up late. I agree with what Phil Chenier(Wizards color commentator) said about Blatche not driving to the hole enough. I would rather drive to the hole and draw fouls and shoot lay-ups instead of settling for contested jumpers. But he probably didn’t drive a lot because he still lacks explosiveness because he isn’t in great shape yet because of that broken foot.
Overall, the Wizards played hard.
