Right now I’d obviously take Lebron because of the age factor.  But if I have the #1 pick, and they are both rookies, I’m taking Kobe.

LeBron had the better individual game…

    Kobe’s team won though.

So Kobe had the better night.

if your going to ask the question, should you not at least ask it about the best players from both teams?

and yes Gasol had a better night, not only better stats, his team won!

How did LeBron have the better individual game when he had five more turnovers than assists?

If it is Kobe vs. Lebron as an all around player, looking at each players entire NBA body of work, and the ultimate goal is winning championships…..there is no comparison.

If it is Kobe vs. Lebron as a player you want on your team right now for the next decade?  That is obviously Lebron based purely on age and overall health of each player.

If it is Kobe vs. Lebron as a player you want on your all time team, with each player being in their prime?  It is very subjective and dependant upon what your criteria is.  Me?  I want a stone cold talented killer and a guy who wins.  To me, Kobe has that DNA and so far, Lebron has not shown me he has it.

So there is many, many ways to look at this.  Lastly, both are still playing so any evaluation on this level should be considered incomplete.

Kobe is more skilled than Lebrick,  He needs to use different ways to get by his defenders than just strength and athleticism.  Lebron may me more effective but Kobe is still more skilled.

Come on tezo don’t argue with me on everything I say. Everytime I come on here your creeping up my ass. LeBron had the better individual game, if you watched the game instead of just looking at the box score you could see that. He took over that game for his team and not only single handedly got them back in it, but game them a great chance to win. Who took over for the Lakers down the stretch? Shannon Brown and Steve Blake.

    More skilled = LeBron

    Better player = Kobe

LeBron can somewhat post up, his 3 ball and midrange shot look nice now, he can drive it in on ANYBODY, better body and athleticism, better passer and rebounder, better shot blocker and better defender when he really digs down in a defensive stance.

Kobe is a winner and he has that cold blooded killer instict in him. He knows how to will his teams to victory and will do anything to do it. Kobe is also a better leader than LeBron.

Kobe had the better game last night. Lebron scored 4 more points on very similar shooting numbers Lebron’s 10-21 to Kobe’s 8-20.  Kobe had more rebounds, more assists and 7 less turnovers and his team won.  Kobe operated well in the triangle as always compared to Lebron wandering around half court sets and really not gelling in the Miami offense ( he did catch fire during a stretch in the 3rd, but it was just clear out for Lebron time).  This isn’t commentary on who is the overall better player and once Lebron and co in Miami gel they’re gonna be a lot better than they were last night, but IMO, Kobe had a better game last night hands down.
