Did lebron throw the series against the celtics?

I dont really remember what your guys opinions were on the matter, and maybe some of your opinions have changed now that weve gained hindsight.

If there ever was a player with enough control over an entire team to throw a series, it was lebron with the cavs. I cant think of a less talented team with a more talented player. just putting it out there.

I honestly don’t even remember what I thought at the time, but I know it wasn’t anything good about him lol

How did he do in the series?   Mo Williams take a lot of crap for his play but what player on the Cavs had the max contract?    LeBron played General Mgr. while Danny Ferry was his secretary… he received a good portion of the players he asked for ( A. Jamison/ Shaq etc.)    LeBron’s circle of people were in Ferry’s ear every step of the way so for anyone to criticize the Cavs roster is a bunch of crap…  I’ve never ever given a rip about the Cavs as a franchise but I know bullship when I hear it…    Lebron was planning on leaving a long time before  he admitted to it…  again no big deal  ( I have zero rooting interest….  but be honest about it and don’t pin it on Danny Ferry,  he was GM in name only  (an average GM that was just lucky enough to have the rights to James for 7 years).

LeBron did not play particularily well in the series, but it was quite obvious that something was bothering him and he was not himself. When you are hurt, things can be off in your game, and when you can’t extend your elbow without serious pain, than of course it is a hinderance. That being said, he was playing, and it was not an excuse, but I definitely think he was trying. The Celtics were the better team, as is usually the case when you win a play-off series. LeBron was still quite often the best player on the floor, in their two victories and some of the losses, including Game 6 with his ridiculous triple double, but the Celtics were a better team, and the better team won. LeBron had one game where he played incredibly poorly, Game 5, but otherwise, while he was not himself, I do not think he was throwing games. The rest of the Cavaliers also played incredibly poorly, especially defensively, but LeBron consistently shut down Paul Pierce throughout the series, showing that the divide between those players has grown substantially. But otherwise, I definitely disagree with peoples assumption that LeBron was not trying against the Celtics. It was a case where he could not do what he usually was able to do, rather than not trying to do it, if that makes sense.

i very vividly remmeber one play in game 6 where he was wide open for a 15 footer with no one on him and the clock winding down, and he kicked it out to andersen verajao to shoot a 20 footer. That kinda play made no sense at all and makes me question where lebrons head was.

I won’t say he "threw" the series, but something wasn’t right. I know he put up decent numbers and had good games, but I remember watching every game and just feeling like he wasn’t playing his hardest or something. It was confusing to watch.

I have a feeling he’ll go all out with the Heat though. He actually has something to look forward to now…playin with Wade and Bosh will renew his energy and I think he’ll play with a passion in the playoffs that he never played with in Cleveland

Yea I mean he definitely wasn’t playing with passion when he averaged 29ppg 8rpg and 7apg for his career playoff average. Especially that one one playoff series against Orlando when he averaged 38ppg 9rpg and 7apg.  That time when he scored 25 straight points to lead his team to an overtime victory over Detroit is another great example of him not displaying passion in the playoffs.

What do stats matter when your team is getting demolished?

Do you not think those stats are impressive? Do you think that they are indicative of his not trying his hardest? The fact is that he lost to better teams. I get it that you hate Lebron but he has been incredibly impressive in the playoffs throughout his career.

It’s a team game…  numbers are fine but can be very misleading due to the fact that someone on the team has to score and handle the ball…  even the worst teams in the league have guys that put up stats,  so what?   I’m more impressed with victories than stats.
