the conference is still down. Not many seniors play into the the conference this year as it continues to rebuild. Probably the worst of the big 6 conferences. But it will be improved from last year. Expect anywhere from 3-5 ncaa tournament teams. Washington is the easy favorite as they return most of their team that won the conference last year and advanced to the sweet 16. Abdul gaddy, isiah thomas and veony overton make up an elite backcourt. UCLA and arizona will both bounce back strong as well. Arizona was a young team last year and they retunr 9 of their top 10 players. UCAL brings in the unmber 1 recruiting class in the pac 10 and brings back 3 guys in malcolmlee, tyler honeycutt and reeves nelson that can be all-confernce. This will be the last year of the pac 10 as they will unfortunately become the pac 12 oafter htis year.

mikeyvthedonParticipantLike the breakdown of my favorite conference, even if it has the obvious distinction of putting the Ducks dead last. You have Malcolm Armstead 3rd team though, which might even be a stretch, lol. Really think Derrick Williams will win Conference POY over Isaiah and Klay, that is a pretty bold choice, it definitely could happen though, and would mean to me that Williams would bolt to the NBA. I too am slightly worried about the Pac-12, I thought the Pac-16 superconference would have been crazy, but the current system worked so well for basketball, teams are definitely not going to be happy missing those LA games, I know that has been a major concern. With basketball, it still should work out fairly smoothly, as it will just mean a few less home and home’s, but in football it should be an incredible mess with a lot of unhappy teams. It is looking more and more likely that Oregon, Washington and the two new schools will be a division, and that will be assured to piss all of the athletic departments at those schools off due to the lost revenue from playing the LA schools and California in general. Well, I am not looking forward to the ramifications right now, but it could indeed turn out to be a good thing for basketball. While Colorado and Utah are not exactly recruiting hot beds, both have been pretty decent basketball programs. Colorado has struggled in recent years, but Utah is a tournament staple, and it will be very interesting to see how they do in a major conference. It might be crazy, but I honestly think that the expansion will benefit recruiting as well, which is much needed after the drought the Pac-10 has recently experienced. Have a lot of hope for the conference after this year, hopefully it can get back to at least 5-6 schools being in the tournament on a regular basis like we were not to long ago.

mikeyvthedonParticipantYeah, I have known about Stefan for quite a while, hear he is a very solid player. His dad worked for a family friend of mine and supposedly asked him advice on where to go, though I do not think that was the only reason for his choice to go to Palo Alto. Stanford is a beautiful school, and very difficult to get into. For educational purposes mixed with basketball, it is hard to find a better program. Plus, 3 Canadians on there team, guess Johnny Dawkins is challenging Mark Few and Rick Barnes for gathering Canadian talent. I am hearing that Dwight Powell is the most ready to go though, and that Stefan might take a while as he needs to fill out.

stanford hoopsyea the Stanford team and freshman are a question mark for everyone on here(other than me) because very few has seen anyone out side of Dwight Powell
Reports out of Stanford and my boy who went to ucla last year is Josh Owens will hands down make a all conference team. I’ve never seen him play but every time I go to Stanford and PAC 10 chat fourm I see people saying he killed every big man at the ucla summer run
Another kid no one on here talks about is Anthony brown who iwas ranked top 40 and I’d 6’8 sf,sg,pg. He has NBA scouts playing close attention to him after the nba players association camp or whatever it’s called. After watching him play I can see why
They will clearly be better than last years team. But a year away from real noise. There mind set is that they will make the tournament this season!!!!!! Might not agree but I like the confidence. I’ll know more after attending the red vs white gae this Saturday
