I’ve been reading a bunch of articles all over the internet and of course people’s comments on here and yet I always here the Nets are the best fit.  However, I think that’s only the case because people are dismissing the Clippers due to their history of failure and unattractive qualities that push free agents away.   However, its been said that Carmelo and his wife would actually welcome a trade to the Clippers due to the LA market.  Now if that big hurdle is cleared up and he would sign an extension, I believe that the following trade would make the most sense of all of the proposals that have been thrown around: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=24dxqg4

The Clippers would trade Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, a future first round pick, and cash for Carmelo Anthony and Renaldo Balkman.  Since the Clippers are under the cap by 5 million, they could take on the 4.5 million dollar difference in salaries in this trade which would save the nuggets A LOT of luxury tax money.  At the same time, the Nuggets would receive an All-Star center, a young stud SF in Aminu to replace their current SF in Carmelo and they would also receive a future first round draft pick, maybe even the minnesota pick.  This package is better than that of the Nets and it boggles my mind as to why it hasn’t been offered or at least discussed.  What do you think?

That trade has been bought up 100 times. Even bought up by Bill Simmons. I swear he wrote a whole article on it.

no bill simmons made a 3 team trade one.  this one if different and makes more sense for the nuggets.  i think they would prefer kaman over tayshaun prince.

No he talked about it on his podcast about the Clips being a good team to get Melo. It was near one of the end of his podcasts. It was a Clips-Nuggs deal.

The Blazers can offer Bayless-Rudy and Camby maybe a pick too…He Roy and Lamarcus would be a nice trio

The Clippers can offer Kaman-Aminu and the Minnesota pick

The Magic can Offer Carter-Gortat and maybe Nelson…if the Nuggets cut ties with Billups,he and Melo with Howard and Co..

The Sixers can give them Iguadola-Thad Young-Jason Kapono and a pick or 2…Holiday-Turner and Melo would be nice trio for years..

The Wizards can offer Nick Young-Josh Howard and some draft picks…Wall-Arenas and Melo with Hinrich,Mcgee and Blatche can be a great team…

The Kings could offer Dalembert-Donte Greene and some picks for Melo-Reke,Melo and DMC could be the next big three..they have a young core a cap room for another star…

^^^^^ how can u possibly say the clips deal isnt the best offer especially with the fact that iggy wont be dealt in a melo deal.  he is untouchable.  at the end of the day, the nuggets want young talent, proven talent, and cap space relief.  thats exactly what the clipper offer has.  no other team has that.

Wow I actually really like this trade, although Aminu IMO has the best chance of being a bust out of the lottery picks

They will keep Iggy no doubt about it unless a blockbuster like Iggy and Thad + Kapono and a draft pick for Anthony and another player maybe Birdman or JR…Getting Iggy and Thad plus Kapono’s 6 mil. expiring deal and a 1st round draft pick would be as good as good AK and Favors or Kaman and Aminu…AK is very valueable to Utah and may not be traded after all…AK for Diaw makes no sense IMO…why would they give up AK and that contract to get Melo to NJ???Favors could bust guys…he hasn’t played a Game…their are three other players I would have picked before Favors if I was NJ…Cousins-Monroe and Turner( I know he was gone but he would have been my pick If Philly picked Cousins like they maybe should have done…I’m still high on Turner and think he’s the best 2 guard to come in years so Holiday-Turner and Iggy can rock out if the Sixers don’t trade Iggy and Thad for Melo…Melo would make it easier for Holiday and Turner to mature into top 10 positional players…

Look how about this trade him to Knicks where he wants to go but give Knicks some time to get some young pieces and maybe a draft pick or two.  Look this is where he wants to go Denver is just putting out stuff to see if Chi town or New York will give in and trade most than what they are offering now.  They know Melo will not go anywhere they he has not picked and resigned there.  Melo to NJ is not happening.  Kobe said in other words no to do it and I have heard Kidd said it outright.  I think Kobe wants Melo to go to the Knicks.  Knicks have a history and also Knicks Miami or even but some chance Knicks Lakers would be historic.

Sorry but even if he got traded to New York its still not a rivalry because the no defense knicks wouldnt be nearly as good as the Heat.

Maybe if they get Chris Paul too.

And has Kobe said he wants Melo to go to New York? i dont think so and why would he listen to Kobe whos guts he probably hates after getting knocked out of the playoffs by him multiple times.

i think melo to la would make for a better rivalry.  melo v kobe, griffin v gasol.  same arena.

i think you need to realize that all the melo trade talk isnt about logical options or the best package. its about where melo wants to go. you don’t have to like it and i don’t do but this is how it is. until melo doesnt commit for the team (meaning sign an extension) he is traded to the Nuggets can like the offer all they want because the other Team wont sign it until melo makes his commitment to them…
thats why the nuggets may be forced to make a kind of Pau Gasol trade even if there are way better options out there for them. i don’t say its gonna be gasol-ugly but it certainly could have a bitter taste for Denver. and i know that they cant be forced to do a trade but then they might loose him for nothing so they could end up doing bad trade with the team melo wants instead of having nothing next year…

One last thing: what annoyes you more the melo stuff or the lebron stuff bevor he went to Miami? i think the bron circus leads right now but just cause it went on longer….

Nuggets new GM threw out a lot like he’s intrigued by Steph Curry but Warriors are turning a corner and probably won’t be make many foolish trades anymore esp. for a rental.  They moved some contracts this offseason and are going with the young guys.  Bulls already said no to including Noah in a trade so they have nothing to trade outside of Rose who isn’t going to be moved obviously.  Mello and his ppl should’ve just stayed quiet and end of the year signed with the Knicks or whatever team he wanted to play for.  CBA won’t change that much that a player with so many yrs in the league with a max contract get paid significantly less.  I know they want the most money they can get but he would make plenty of money with endorsements/entertainment playing in NYC.  If Mello isn’t traded to the Nets looks like he’ll be a Knick in 2011.  Also Mello is married to a woman worth a lot of money too.

Im sure the Clippers believe if they wanna contend or even do better then the Nuggets have, Kaman has to stay with the Franchise. LAC are trying to move Gordon which would make the signing of Randy Foye a very great move, and Denver wants Kaman and Gordon.
