The8thDeadlySinParticipantThis is assuming that the Melo trade goes down sending Melo and Augustine to the Nets..
Who is the better team??
Old Nuggets:
PG: Chaucy Bilups
SG: Arron Afllalo
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Kenyon Martin
C: Nene
6th: JR Smith
7th: Ty Lawson
8th: Chris Anderson
New Nets:
PG: Jordan Farmar
SG: Terrence Williams
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Troy Murphy
C: Brooke Lopez
6th: Travis Outlaw
7th: DJ Augustine
8th: Kris Humphries
9th: Johan Petro
I think that people are crazy to say that Melo had it better in Denver.. His PG was better for sure but I dont know if Melo enjoyed playing with Chauncy.. I mean he and Billups used to fight over last shots in games and Billups is notorious for taking bad shots.. Farmar will always look to defer to Melo first, then others, then himself… Also, he has Lopez, who IMO, is better than Nene and Murphy is a better fit for Melo than Martin.. I think its a good move for Melo if it happens..

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI said that earlier and couldn’t agree more.
To be honest and this might sound Bias but I really think he wants to go to New York and play with Amar’e. I feel this is the closest he’s gonna get right now and he still has the deal on the table. He’s worried because he might lose 10-15 mil to the new CBA.

thenetswillriseParticipantHe might lose that money anyway because the owners might expect the top paid players to take salary rollbacks like the NHL did a few years back. I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners raised lower tier players’ salaries a little in order to cut back the top player’s salaries a greater amount.

Mr. JewboyParticipanti got one little thing to say- the nets almost had the worst record in NBA history!!
how can they be better than a team that was 2nd place just two years ago and 4th last year?!

butidonthavemoneyOffensively, the Nets have put together a pretty nice package. They have legit first (Melo), second (Lopez) and third (Murphy) options and their skills complement each other quite nicely.
But who in this rotation (with the possible exception of Terrence Williams) is capable of playing even a lick of defense? Farmar? Augustin? Melo? Outlaw? Murphy? Lopez? K-Hump?
You know you’re screwed when the third best defender on your squad is Brian Zoubek.
And I sincerely hope that Avery Johnson does not put Travis Outlaw and Kris Humphries on the floor at the same time. That would be like putting a fudgesicle inbetween Rosie O’Donnell and Kirstie Alley.

goneParticipantThe Nets desperately need an athelete down-lown someone they have in Derrick Favors who they might trade

billykParticipantDefense is about playing together as a team in a good defensive system NOT as much as being a good individual defender…
