LazarusMunozParticipantAccording to the New York Daily News, a "reliable source" reports that Carmelo Anthony has approved a trade to the Nets.
Presumably this means that Anthony would agree to a long-term contract extension upon a trade to New Jersey.
A trade could be agreed upon as early as Saturday.

durantula83ParticipantMelo will regret this decision before the season’s done, mark my words.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantMelo will regret this decision before the season’s done, mark my words.
Why?

NarcParticipantIf this deal involves Devin Harris he’ll regret it. I don’t think Farmar is starting material.

Lotto StudParticipantNow that Harris will be gone, I guess we’ll SHOOT for Irving or Knight.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHow, New Jersey will be a bottom playoff team? Knight and Irving are top 10 potential picks. Unless one slides and I don’t see Irving sliding.

Lotto StudParticipantI have expectations for my team, but I don’t see playoffs now with Farmar starting @ the Point. He can’t carry a team.

torontoraptors10ParticipantDJ Augustin is apart of the deal and he will go NJ. He is a better option the Jordan Farmar and let’s see what he can do with working a former point guard Avery Johnson and see if a fresh start is what he needs.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantDJ Augustine is better then Jordan Farmar?

NYK2010ParticipantSurprised Mello is willing to sign an extension to play for the Nets.
Farmar and Augustine Both are weak PG’s, also at SG the Nets aren’t that good either.
The Nets throwing money at Morrow, Farmar, Outlaw and Petro looks a lot worse now.
Also how are the Nets getting Chris Paul in a trade they have nothing to offer except TWill now which won’t get it done. Paul is still under contract for the next 2 years.

NYK2010ParticipantNot so fast this hasn’t been confirmed by Mello. Still this deal might get done but will probly take longer.

durantula83ParticipantHe wants to be in New York, that’s where his heart’s at. If he would settle for New Jersey, then he just wouldn’t be happy. Especially with Harris and Favors out the door, then you’re looking at a 30 win team maximum. It’s now been confirmed by a source close to Melo that he didn’t settle for New Jersey (yet).

Toronto16ParticipantThis deal isn’t about New Jersey, it is about the move to Brooklyn. That being said, next season the Nets are still going to stink. Jordan Farmer is not a starting PG, and Derrick Favors would have been great to pair with Brook Lopez. I don’t know what was going on, why Melo wanted to leave Denver so badly.

NYK2010ParticipantI just wants to be in a big city like NYC, its doubtful he wins in NJ though.
Esp. this year they don’t have a PG, bench or SG really, suck for 2 yrs than get Paul I guess is the Nets plan.

stanford hoopsderrick favors wouldnt be paired with lopez for another couple years. even avery said he wasnt gonna be ready till possibly the middle of next season. basically pairing chris wilcox with lopez
nets dont need to just go after paul. there will be other free agents next season or trades for this year
