what are you gonna do with Brand?

Elton Brand
Mareese Speights

Philadelphia:
Emeka Okafor
Peja Stojakovic – only one year left on contract, could be a valuable asset at the Trade Deadline
1st Rounder

Who gets the better end of this deal? Is New Orleans willing to take on Brand’s contract in exchange for Emeka Okafor, Peja’s contract and the 1st Rounder to acquire Iguodala who would obviously be the most important component of this trade?

They just got rid of there bad contract at center, why add another?

Philly would gain nearly $18M in cap room after Peja’s contract expires next summer, they’d initially be $5M lower in salary with the trade. We know Collins likes defense (Okafor) and let’s say they bomb next year and get a high pick, somebody like Barnes or Jones to go along with a top tier FA or a couple of good FAs next summer with that cap room, would you rather have Iggy/Brand/Speights?

I like any trade that involves Iggy a first round pick and a center of Ekakor’s stature. i would pull the trigger on either one.

Is there people that disagree with trading Iggy for a 1st round pick and a Center who can average 15 points 10 rebounds and 2 blocks?

thats a horrible deal for the hornets. brand has the worst deal in the NBA considering his reduced skills. and he definitely doesn’t fit in with a team that wants to run.

Since iggy also has a large contract, the only way you are moving brand, is with evan turner. and that is probably to much to give up for philly so they are going to have to wait it out. unless some team really wants Turner that bad.

There are a couple of teams that might be able to give fair value back, who taking on brand might be good for. these teams include. Dallas, Indy, but i dont see anything happening for dallas to take on a rookie, or indy trading granger
