Cardinal_FanParticipantI think from a skill standpoint Demarcus Cousins is a stud!!! The guy has all the tools physically with the exception of being a jaw dropping athlete. I think he could finish top 3 in rookie of the year voting and a really good piece to go with Tyreke Evans. What do u think his impact will be this season (Stats)???? What type of career do you think he will have???? Will he ever be considered an elite big man???? Thoughts????

Cardinal_FanParticipantI agree, i also he will be one of the better passing big men in the league. He is so skilled its scary. If he can get it together from a mautrity standpoint he will be great. I think he’s got stud written all over him.

gainsey15ParticipantIt all depends on if Cousin wants to be great, he’s been blessed with big soft hands, great feet, a very nice touch, and he moves very well for his size. Now the rest is up too him. He could be Derrick Coleman, a super skilled big that should of had a way better career, or could live up to his potential.

stanford hoopsHE’S more mature then Rasheed Wallace. So I don’t see that hendering his ability. He prob will come off the bench while dalembart dtarts till around mid season

Cardinal_FanParticipantI actually think he will start ahead of Delambert. I think Delambert hasnt proved anything yet in his career. Quite simply i think Delambert sucks.

SteroidParticipantI think Cousins could be rookie of the year if he wants to. I think it will be between him, Wall, and an unexpected candidate. Also, I really believe Cousins will average a double double this year IF he is in shape and can play 32-35 mins.

JoeWolf1I think Cousins will be in contention for rookie of the year, but his big stats are going to be points and rebounds and I’m pretty confident Blake Griffin will top him in both of those catagories making it tough for him to win ROY. That being said, I’m a fan of his game and I think he’ll make an impact next season. I think he’ll get around 14 ppg 8 rpg and 1.4 blocks, there hasn’t been a rookie center in a long time that I thought had the potential to be a 20 and 10 guy in the future and I certainly think Cousins has that kind of ability.

SteroidParticipantCousins’ biggest stat is his rebounding. In college, Cousins only played 23.5 mins and averaged 10 rebounds. That rebounding rate is ridiculous. If he get the mins, he will get 10 rebounds, and if he get 20 something mins, his rebounding per 36 mins will be 10. Unlike the points stat, rebounding is the one stat that usually transfers to the pro game.

sheltwon3ParticipantCousins could have been a number one pick any other year. Those are modest stats for a number one pick. I will admit that Iggy’s stats are a safer pick but I feel really confident in the combo of Evans and Cousins and also Paul Westphal never had issues playing rookies back in his Suns days and obviously Evans played big minutes last year so 30 minutes is not out of the question but they have a lot of depth in the front court but you can’t have Cousins sitting on the bench all year. Brook Lopez put up around 16 points his first year and I believe Cousins is a better scorer. Cousins’ strength is his rebounding so 12 is a strong possibility but I know he should at least average a double double at maybe 10 per game but I am going bold because Cousins deserves that much respect.

JoeWolf1Fair enough, I don’t agree, but I’ll buy your reasoning. I think 16 ppg is realistic, but 12 rpg is pretty insane for a rookie, I think he has the ability to do it down the line, but only Dwight Howard averaged more than 12 rpg last season. It will take him a bit to adjust to the game and like all rookie big men fouls will limit his time early on. I agree and think Cousins is a special talent, but I just think it will take him a year or two to get to that 12 rpg mark.

HitsterParticipantDeMarcus had all the physical attributes to be a top pick challenger but conditioning and maturity worries meant he dropped to 5. He will have a chance to develop along with a young Kings team and a stint behind Dalambert will help him to come along, if his conditioning has come along then he can be a huge force at both ends of the court being a match for any NBA player inside and able to use to use his size to cause havoc on offence in time.
Udrich and Evans will be able to feed him pick and rolls and with his good all round game in time he will be able to draw a double team and pass back out of it.
If he plays 30mpg this year I can see 12 to 14ppg, 8 to 10rpg and 1 to 1.5bpg.

OhCanada-ParticipantThe best way to compare DeMarcus Cousins is..Chris Webber’s skillset with a young Erick Dampiers body (alot of people forget Dampier used to be alot bigger).

Mr. 19134ParticipantI love Cousins and remember when Doug Collins was thinking about taking Favors with the second pick so he bought Cuzo and Favors in to play one on one and Cousins completely dominated him. He also won rookie of the month in June for his play in the summer league. I really wish he would of been the 2nd pick because his potential is enormous as being a possible franchise center. Dalambert is better then people give him credit for in fact he puts up every year around the same numbers Haywood did last year that earned Brandon that new nice contract. Sammy will get you blocks, rebounds, and put backs, so look for him to play more often then you think to shore up the post defense. Sammy can play power forward tho too. I dont know what the Kings low post rotation is going to look like with Landry, Cousins, Sammy, and Jason Thompson. So I think Demarcus is going to get around 25 minutes a night and average 13-14 points a game-7-8 rebounds-2 assists-1.5-blocks-1 steal.

Mr. 19134Participanthaha yeah i thought he meant tank like didn’t care and awesome athlete is not usually associated with Cuzo…but Cousins for his size is a phenomenal athlete. People don’t give him credit enough for just how nimble and agile he really is. Cousins to me reminds me more of Derrick Coleman later in his career then anybody. They had around the same body type and agility except Coleman was more athletic and versatile overall.
