marcusfizer21ParticipantEarlier this week, reports surfaced that the Chicago Bulls were having internal conversations about including Joakim Noah in a package for Carmelo Anthony. Throwing Noah into trade discussions would certainly intrigue the Denver Nuggets, but sources close to the situation say that the center isn’t leaving Chicago anytime soon. The Bulls deemed the twenty-five year old nearly untouchable all summer long and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. Rather than selling high before he becomes a free agent, the Bulls offered Noah a five-year, $60 million contract extension nearly two weeks ago, according to sources.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHonestly, I think that this Chicago franchise has done a great job putting themselves in a situation to compete for a championship.. This team is ready to be the best team in the East regardless of what Miami has done.. I think that Deng is the perfect complement to the rest of the team.. Rose is a slasher, Korver is a shooter, Boozer has range to 20 feet so he is a shooter, then there is Deng and Noah who are garbage men and do it very well.
Noah is the key to a championship on this team.. Without him, they will not be able to compete with a team that has any bigs…

Charlie SheenParticipantChicago can make a solid deal like Deng, Noah, Johnson, Gibson and 2 first for Anthony, Smith and Andersen they have Asik, Thomas and Boozer already so why not make this deal

ChewyParticipantdoesn’t have much of a chance in a trade because most of their draft picks are locked up and can’t be traded. Denver will be looking to the future of they trade Melo and will want young players AND picks. With their expiring contracts I think they have a more realistic chance at signing melo as a free agent at the end of the season.

Uhhhh….Melo is not a top 3 player. Chicago was smart here. I say keep your players and draft picks and go into the season. Hell, I rather go get Rudy Fernandez for Taj Gibson and then go add a cheap big off the bench THEN go replace him over replacing Noah, which is tougher.

jdstormParticipantNoah should be untouchable. without him, who is going to defend bosh, howard, gasol? its not going to be boozer.
no matter how good carmelo is. you are not going to be able to win a title if boozer is your primary defensive bigMan i wish Amare had gone to chicago. instead of boozer

SwatLakeCityParticipantGood choice Bulls, keep Noah. If the Bulls did offer up Noah for Melo, the Bulls would certainly look good with Rose, Booz, and Melo, but they are suddenly soft down low. Noah is not only a great rebounder, he also can block shots, kind a like a young Marcus Camby. And we all know how Booz just chickened out against Pau Gasol in the semis this year. And he will chicken out against Bosh, Lopez, Bogut, Dwight Howard, Al Horford, as well as other centers or PF in the East too. Now, yes the Bulls could sign a Center to help them out defensively, but I doubt he will be as good as Noah is. He will probably just be a seasoned veteran who should back up, not start. Trading Noah is the wrong move to get Melo. You can’t be soft and win a championship the inside is just too much to give up, and too easy for the opposing team to score. You gotta defend the inside if you want to win the trophy. Booz and some other backup defensive center, lets say Pryzbilla, just won’t cut it down low.
I still think the Magic have a good shot at getting him. The only problem with that is they would probably have to give up Jameer Nelson, because he is one of the few young players besides Dwight Howard, that could appease Denver. I don’t know if the Magic are willing to part with Nelson, and not have a legitimate PG to start. (I think they would be fine giving up Lewis but by himself he is not enough.)

NYK2010ParticipantI agree that Deng is a good complement players, but the Rose, Mello and Boozer trio could be special.
Also how great would it be to move Deng’s contract.0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/11/2010 - 8:10pm #399304

jdstormParticipantWatch the Jazz lakers playoff series? What about Nuggets lakers the year before?
both teams lost because they were too small defensively to get boards and alter shots at the rim with gasol, bynum and odum being taller then their starting frontcourts.
Noah is a legit 7footer. and a top 5 defensive one, behind howard and bogut. and maybe 1 or 2 others.
even if Carmelo is a top 5 scorer and top 3 ( though i have him at 1) clutch player, And Lebron’s kryptonite/nemesis in terms of head to head matchups. his scoring can be replaced by many others, rose will be chicago’s crunch time guy

stealsgaloreParticipantI have to think when you get the oppurtunity to get a potential franchise player you have to do it. Carmelo’s proven he has the potential to be that. The key would be getting him to stay.
I think replacing Noah is gonna be easier than getting a player a caliber of Anthony.

durantula83ParticipantChicago did good holding on to Noah, if they can get Melo for Deng and some low value extras I’d be all for it. They can’t afford to weaken their frontcourt if they want to have a shot at the title. Denver might give in after all, since Chicago and New York are the only places Melo would want to go and New York has to send back Eddy Curry to make it happen unless they can include a third team. Denver will never take on Curry’s contract so Bulls sit tight for a little while longer.
