Wizard forward Andray Blatche told reporters that he will indeed be ready for training camp that will open later this month..
Blatche had surgery to repair a 5th metatarsal in his right foot in June and many thought he’ll be out for at least 3 months..Blatche had his boot removed 10 days ago and says he doesn’t feel any pain or discomfort…
Wizard president Ernie Grunfied says even though Blatche hasn’t been mobile the last few months..He has been able to keep his weight down despite limited mobility..
Grunfied said,Blatche hasn’t been cleared for basketball related drills yet..And there isn’t any need to rush him…..

Its always good news to hear when players are coming off surgery.

I just hope he has his head on straight, because i recall him complaining about how much he should be making and i remember him hogging for the ball to get his triple double.

Yeah Andray Blatche is actually one of the more skilled bigs in the NBA. He has a big wide body, he rebounds alright, blocks shot, has a nasty mid range game and a nice array of hooks and fakes down low. The problem is that he hasn’t proven yet to be an effective player when he isn’t the man. Even before his breakout season last year he had flashes of brilliant but it was only when Jamison was out with injury. If he can accept a secondary role he can easily average 15+7. He is actually the perfect complement for Mcgee. In retrospect although it was risky to sign him long term, getting him on a 5 year/15 mil(3 mil a year) contract is one of the better values in the NBA for his skills. Lets see if he can take that next step from just a talented player there for his, to a top end supporting player.
