don042488ParticipantTimmy D is a free agent at the end of the 2010-2011 season, and I’m pretty sure he knows the end is near, as far as the Spurs being a contender again…So does anyone believes he will leave and join a contender? Few years back, he was going to leave the Spurs for the Magic, to play with Tracy Mcgrady, but David Robinson talked him out of it, and the Magic’s signed Grant Hill instead…This time around, I think he’ll definitely leave the Spurs, to sign with the Heat, and become their starting center…Duncan definitely wants 1 more ring at least, to add to his resume…If anyone could make Duncan leave San Antonio, it’s Pat Riley

primetimeParticipantI think Tim Duncan has established his career with the SA Spurs and I have a feeling he isnt going to leave. The people in San Antonio love him for what he’s done and I think he’s going to stay loyal to RC Buford and Coach Pop and retire as a Spur.

don042488ParticipantTony Parker is out the door, once he becomes a free agent, as speculated…Ginobli is getting older and older and constantly gets injured…And for the past like 4 or 5 years, the Spurs can’t supply Timmy, with a low post threat beside him…They keep putting power forwards that has a knack to shoot the long beside him…If he goes to Miami, he has Bosh beside him that can produce inside and outside, plus Haslem, who’s a warrior…He’s a perfect fit for the Heat…Kinda like how an aging Kareem, was with the Lakers…Duncan with the Heat, could prolong his career, and lead to him getting like 3 to 4 more rings

durantula83ParticipantI think he’s a loyal guy and I see him sticking around in San Antonio, playing out his career. This year their team will be better than last year’s. Tiago Splitter & James Anderson are two great additions ready to step in and play some minutes. If Jefferson can redeem himself and if Parker can stay healthy then the Spurs could go a long way.

stanford hoopsIt might be me but Duncan just seems like the type to stay till he retires. Other superstars you could tell would leave but I have him
in the same boat as stockton, just someone who stays out the spot light and is extremely loyal and won’t try to stay in the game longer then he should. It wouldn’t suprise me if he retired within the next 2-3 seasons0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/06/2010 - 1:02pm #395598

don042488ParticipantAll of u guys are saying he’s loyal and will stay, but u guys are seeming to mess out on the fact, I said few years back, during the 2000 free agency period, he was going to leave the Spurs to the Magic, till David Robinson, talked him out of it and assured him they can win more championships together…What makes it different this time around? The Spurs will not beat the Lakers anytime soon, to get to the Finals to compete for a chip, so why will he stay?…If Duncan leaves and join the Heat, their a lock to get to the Finals for the next 3 to 4 years, in the Eastern Conference, and the favorites to dethrone the Lakers in the 2011-2012 season because I believe LA will 3 peat again

stanford hoopsBeing 10 years older changes alot. Rarely is anyone thinking loyal at 24

stanford hoopsOf course it’s possible but he’s one of the few who wouldn’t suprise me one but if he stayed a spur for life

TyroberParticipantI think Duncan will remain a spur but it would not surprise me if he leaves because he wants another ring.
Here is a crazy thought for you guys
Imagine Duncan and Billups spliting the midlevel exception to play for the Heat next season.
PG- Billups
SG- Wade
SF- James
PF- Bosh
C- DuncanARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!

Toronto16ParticipantThere is no reason for him to leave. He has won 4 titles and 2 MVP’s with this team so its not like his legacy is at stake. Stay loyal Timmie.
