The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhat are the Grizzlies doing?? They still havent signed their rookies.. Henry and Vasquez are both unsigned.. Really??
Personally, I think that both of these guys can log minutes this year.. I think that Vasquez will put some big time pressure on Conley and Henry can take the backup SG minutes and let Sam Young play SF off the bench..
I am SMH at the Grizz franchise right now..
Also, what happens if these guys dont get signed.. I know they have guaranteed money but do they go into the FA pool or what??

sammybuckeye13ParticipantYes they were both very good picks. I think if Mayo was to start at the point at some time (which they’ve hinted to) Henry would be the default starting SG…and he could be had for around $1.5 million…isn’t that reasonable in this market?? And I love Vasquez, I think he’ll really thrive in Memphis.

omphalosParticipantYeah this is frustrating for me too, I’ve been a big fan of Henry as a complementary player who can deliver. Honestly, I don’t think the Grizzlies are the right fit, but they really need to just suck it up and sign him. Their whole performance based crap is bs when everyone knows he won’t be making the rookie challenge with the amount of PT he’s likely to get. How can they pay Rudy so much but haggle over such a tiny amount in comparison.

flybobbyflyParticipantShit i dont even know what to say about this.
I love the current roster that memphis has put together. im a big fan of them and think that they should make the playoffs this year. but im feeling like their decisions this summer are showing that they are going to screw up everything good that they have ahead of them because of bad management. They shouldnt have signed Rudy for so much but they shouldnt try to compensate with another negative by cutting costs with the rookies and making a bad first impression on their incoming talent.
It pains me to say it but i feel like this organization is going write back down the drain.0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/03/2010 - 3:50pm #393436

butidonthavemoney+1 for that.
I am also curious — what will happen to Henry and Vasquez if Memphis opts to not sign them?

Champzilla21Participanta) sit out the season and re-enter the draft next year, b) sign with a European squad for a short term contract or c) sign with the NBDL for a short term deal.

Lotto StudParticipantWith all the new talent coming in wouldn’t it hurt their draft stock to re-enter?

JoeWolf1I just think its ridiculous, they are both high charachter guys who really want to play. It’s not that they are being prima donnas, Wallace is just offering them an incentive deal for about 300,000 which is un heard of for NBA mid first round rookies. One rookie out of the last 450 have agreed to that kind of deal, it’s unfair and Wallace is a fool for jeopordizing his team’s relations with a couple young players who want to play basketball for the sake of 300,000.
