The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhat I think of a few things boiling in the NBA world..
The Knicks:
They are going to struggle to rebound this year. Amare is great but his focus is scoring.. Lee took pride in rebounding and that made him great.. What are they gonna do now??
Anther thing, I think that Andy Rautins makes this team and is a solid player in the D’Antoni system.. I bashed them for drafting him and I still think it was the wrong choice but I think he will be okay..
On Anthony:
I hope that Carmelo Anthony goes to the Kings.. I would love to see him with Evans and Cousins.. If that would push them into the elite team category, he would probably resign with them because that whole team has their best days ahead of them..
He had better be glad I am not the GM there.. I would trade this kid to the Pistons for Austin Daye and White.. Then he could have a year where he doesnt even get to the playoffs.. I wouldnt enjoy my “franchise” player calling my team out.. BTW, props to Lawson for his comment..
Mo Williams:
I dont know if any of you all remember when Williams exploded with the Bucks but I do.. This guy is a good player but didnt show that with Lebron.. I think that Mo will go crazy again, like he did with the Bucks and average like 23-25 a game.. They wont be successful because when your PG is you best scorer, you usually struggle but, IMO, he will show that he can play without Lebron.. As for the rest of the team? IDK…
The Warriors:
This team is probably going to start the season with a bang but fizzle out right before the playoffs like they used to do with Baron Davis…
The Mavs:
Does anyone else think that they are getting like the Celtics?? I mean they are milking every player they have for everything they have.. All of these guys are past their prime and are living off of smarts.. JKidd is keeping this team afloat.. How long can he do that and how long can Dirk keep beating double teams every night??
Durant:
Beast….
Thanks for reading!

sammybuckeye13Participant– Knicks will win 40 games and Rautins will only get garbage minutes behind Azaubuike, Chandler, Walker and Mason, while battling Fields for playing time (and based on SL outputs, it looks like that’ll be a losing battle for Rautins).
– I can’t see Carmelo in Sac Town. Their franchise cornerstones are Evans and Cousins; both are/will be great, but Evans is extremely ball-dominant and Cousins…who knows.
– Mo Williams this year will be Mike James in 2005-06 when he averaged 20 ppg and the Raptors won 27 games.
– Warriors will continue to be mediocre until they organize themselves properly.
– Yes, Mavs sort of reminding me of the Celtics but they don’t play as great D and they don’t have championship-caliber O anymore.

bkballerParticipantKnicks will be fine rebounding, Lee only rebounded “so well” because he was the only real “big” the Knicks had. Knicks added a lot of size and actually have centers this year (not good ones but centers that can help out the rebounding and interior presence nonetheless). They also added tall athletic Anthony Randolph who Per 36 is a very good rebounder and shot blocker. I also expect Gallo to be more physical this year finally going through a healthy summer and being further removed from his injury. Felton and Douglas are both solid guard rebounders, as is Azibukee. They potentially will have four 6-10+ players in the starting line up next season.

mikeyvthedonParticipantAm I the only one skeptical of this move maybe on behalf of the Kings? I personally think Evans and Melo might step on each others toes, much more so than say Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. Not to mention Melo nor Evans play close to the defense of the other two. I am also very interested to see how DeMarcus Cousins does defensively in the NBA. I know he put up huge numbers in college and can block shots on his length alone, but I think he might struggle to guard faster players, which very well could be most players he is playing against. Certainly foul trouble might be a worry, if it is for Greg Oden what makes the even less athletic Cousins immune, especially on a young team like the Kings? Add in Carl Landry at the 4, that is one undersized team, even with Evans maybe playing point. Just does not seem to make much sense for both teams, considering I am sure that the Nuggets could get better offers if they act immediately. I think it is a pipe dream for Kings fans who would love to see a team with those three skilled offensive players at the core, but ultimately I have major apprehension with that team working without major personnel change in the supporting cast department. For those who come back and tell me who the Kings have that would play defense (and I already thought of Hassan Whiteside, who at this point definitely does not count as a low post stopper), think who exactly the Kings would be giving up. Now, I do think the Kings would more than likely win the deal, but would it make them much more than a one and done play-off team? Than how would they get better? What would be that teams identity? Just do not see it working out like people may hope, which would be the Kings turning into a contending franchise. Like DeMarcus Cousins play a game before we see if that is possible. Because, as much potential as he does have, he still has a number of things he needs to work on before you would call him a franchise leading center. He has the potential to get there, but he has yet to display whether he can fulfill it.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantGah… I love Knick fans.. Amare is not a great rebounder.. Randolph is only good when you look at his per36 and most of the time, people dont live up to that. Gallo is soft, Curry is fat, Felton wont rebound, Chandler does sometimes.
Who are these 4 6’10 guys that are starting… I think the lineup looks like this…
Felton – 6’1
Chandler – 6’8
Gallo – 6’10
Randolph – 6’10
Amare – 6’9Then there is..
Turiaf – 6’10
Mozgof – 7’1
Curry – 6’11
Barron – 7’0 I think they should start him because he is huge and physical has hell but the wont..Those are the other guys that are super tall.. You think that they do this??
Felton
Gallo
Randolph
Amare
Barron??They wont…

The8thDeadlySinParticipantNah.. IF they are playing Gallo at the 2 on offense, Chandler has to start.. He can guard 2s but I dont think Randolph can… Also, I dont see Turiaf starting.. He is a spark off the bench guy..

bkballerParticipantRandolph is a good rebounder regardless how you look at it… and david lee will get exposed playing next to a real center. Real knick fans know he struggled when D league center Earl Barron was playing alongside him and went through a stretch getting under 10 rpg because of that. His starting PF last season was Jared Jeffries!!! back up PF was Al Harrington!!! of course he got a lot of rebounds.

bkballerParticipantregardless who starts the Knicks have size this year…. last year their only “bigs” were al harrington, david lee and jeffries. No chance they are a worse rebounding team than last year, Lees stats were very padded. Amare still gets his 9 rebounds a game, its far from stellar but not too horrific either, the future Center of the NBA according to soem posters Brook Lopez averaged less.

kaceyParticipantThe Mavericks need a huge scoring year out of Butler. He seemed to not be in the flow of the offense last year, but I don’t understand why he can’t be this year. The Mavericks love running the two man game with a guard and Dirk posting up. Butler isn’t that bad of a post up wing. If he can step up as a great 2nd option and Terry can come off the bench and be consistent all the way through to the playoffs, then the Mavs should have no problem being the 2nd best team in the West. A first round elimination for a team with this many veterans and this high of a payroll shouldn’t happen. If it does then it will just be another year lost for Dirk.
I hate to say it, but Dirk may be following in Karl Malone and Charles Barkley’s footsteps.

bkballerParticipantFelton averaged 3.6 rebounds per game in a slow offense… so you can expect at least 4 rebounds from him compared to the 2 and change Duhon had.
Gallo may be soft, but he will step it up this year at least a bit more than last year, the guy just came off back surgery last year he should be more aggressive.
Turiaf is a solid rebounder in a limited role.
AR when healthy rookie year averaged 6 rebounds per 18 mpg, you can expect 8-9 rebounds at the very least if he gets starter minutes.
don’t see how Lee’s extra 2 rpg over amare wont be easily covered by the other improvements they made.they wont be an elite rebounding team, but they will actually be better than last year, when they got abused in the paint.
The knicks had two major problems last year that made them suck so bad… awful PG play and incredible lack of size, they got pummeled and abused in the paint every night. This season both of those issues have been improved on.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 11:22am #391144

sheltwon3ParticipantHow does Melo got to the Kings without King giving up either Evans or Cousins. Denver is asking NJ for Brook Lopez and NJ is saying no. I would trade Melo for Brook and Murphy plus picks but hey that is me. Brook is nice but Favors will be the Center in a few year and Brook a power forward and Power forwards are not that scarce that NJ could not replace him.

sheltwon3ParticipantThe Knicks have a great front court so how would rebounding be and issue. They could over come Lee’s rebounding by committee. Amare can get you aroun 8 boards which is like 4 or 5 less than Lee. Turiaf, Gallo, Randolph, and even Chandler will make up those 4 or 5 rebounds.

deng is one of 8 players who are 25 and under to average 17 and 7. he is just entering his prime
add a couple first round picks too. that should be enough to lure denver and keep melo happy

bkballerParticipantThat is an awful trade idea… teams are offering players like Steph Curry, Favors etc. and homer bull fans want to trade the 10th best SF in the league with a 13 million dollar contract for the 2nd or 3rd best SF. Its hilarious how every possible trade Bulls fans bring up Deng like he is some hot commodity, meanwhile they offer him for just about anyone and would love to get rid of him but insist that everyone else wants him. I bet if the Bulls front office got a deal that Deng just leaves and the contract comes off the books they take it. NO ONE wants Deng and his pathetic contract for an average player at his position. James Johnson is most likely a bust and Taj Gibson peaked last season, all he is is a solid bench player.

bkballerParticipantk forum tough guy, i know this because 99% of small town team fans have an agenda against the Knicks. If you don’t want Knicks to be discussed in your forum DONT BRING THEM UP… simple as that. It’s not like I walked into a forum that was strictly about your favorite team and started talking about the Knicks.
I don’t care if my team struggles to make the playoffs, you must feel really special that you root for a team that will apparently win more games.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 8:33pm #391599

The8thDeadlySinParticipantForum tough guy?? First you go classifying me without knowing me.. Put me down by talking about who I root for and you call me the forum tough guy?? 99% of small town team have an agenda against the Knicks?? Wow.. Talk about a “world against me” complex you have there.. How do you know I am not a Knicks fan?? BTW, I discussed lots of topics but it seems like the anytime someone says something about the Knicks that isnt positive, they are wrong?? Nobody had a problem with me saying that the Warriors would fizzle out or that Anthony needs to quit bitching.. No, the only topic that we have discussed is how the Knicks are going to be one of the best rebounding teams around.. D’Antoni teams are bad rebounding teams.. The Knicks dont have a proven rebounder.. Amare averages 9 but he doesnt want to rebound.. Randolph is good in the per36 but what about in a real game?? Gallo is stronger?? Come on man.. This team is going to struggle to rebound..
I dont have any problem at all with you supporting your team but try to be real about stuff.. I am realistic when it comes to my team.. I want them to be great but I am down to earth about things and I know what is what.. I dont let my favoritism for a team could my judgement like so many of you Knicks fans do.. Someone bashed Lee up there somewhere.. Its crazy that he is an All-Star and carried the Knicks to almost every win they had last year but now that he is gone, he isnt any good.. Remember when yall got Rodriquez?? He was going to be the next JKidd with the Knicks… Another clouded judgement.. Yall think that Carmelo is only worth Curry and Chandler.. Another clouded judgement.. Get your head out of the sky and quit being another NY D!CK…

This team is going to struggle to rebound..

bkballerParticipantNot once have I said a single thing about them being good let alone great. Just because I don’t agree with you that loss of David Lee really hurts the Knicks so drastically in rebounding does not suggest I’m being an irrational homer.
And speaking of acting like you know someone… I have never seen anyone, especially myself, suggest that Chandler and Curry is fair for Melo… I do however feel that the whole Knicks CANNOT put together a package is a little overblown… if the Knicks wanted to completely gut the team they have enough talent to get Melo but I personally don’t want anything to do with that sort of trade. I have given up on Melo a long time ago and am aware that he is not going to be a Knick… and I;m fine with that,
Nothing with someone being excited about the team improving, again I never said Sergio would be a great PG (putting words in my mouth to make an argument? hypocrite?), but I admit I was hopeful because apparently you haven;t watched enough Knick games to know that Duhon was not even a top 50 PG last year and ANYONE who wont dribble the ball off his foot was an exciting change. I honestly think Sergio did ok but wasn;t given much of a chance due to Mike’s weird love affair with Duhon.
As for my inferiority complex statement, truth is people enjoy taking jabs at the Knicks… its a pretty known fact in forums, probably because of so many pro knick rumors and so many fans such as myself “ruining your forums”. Of course when there is a lot of soemthing, you can find something wrong with it. Plus I think people enjoy seeing the “evil empire” thats full of money hungry, cocky people fail and I accept that but sometimes it just gets silly. Apparently people think Knicks do not have enough even if they offer Gallo, Randolph, Chandler, Douglas, Walker etc but then make dumb trade suggestions like Deng, Johnson and Gibson or Jeffries, Hill, Budinger and 2 picks in the 20s as plausable trades….0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 8:55pm #391605

bkballerParticipantI don’t see how me defending the Knicks rebounding and finding your negativity to people writing about the Knicks WHEN YOU DISCUSS THEM IN YOUR FORUM pretty laughable makes me a NY Dick. That sort of defensive attitude concerning anything New York is what I constantly see in forums.
I could care less if Mo Williams scores 20ppg next year, I comment on what I am interested in… if you wanted to only talk Mo Williams, make a Mo Williams thread and I promise you I wont put my “Knicks Garbage” in it.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 9:00pm #391609

bkballerParticipantAnd its no secret in NY, that even though we love David Lee, his stats were padded. He was the only player on the roster capable or willing to get rebounds which in turn slightly inflated his numbers, it was evident when he played with a big man his rebounding numbers dipped drastically.
As for his offense, he enjoyed his speed and jump shot against slower and less willing to defend the perimeter centers because he played out of position. However, again I know you are not a Knick fan because you would also realize how badly he was abused on defense for the same reason (partially not his fault). I know Amare is far from a good defender, but his size and the fact that he is a real presence in the paint makes him A LOT better than Lee. It is very possible Lee was the worst big man defender in the league last year.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 9:05pm #391613

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI dont really know what you have said.. I just know that 99% of Knicks fans are crazy…
It doenst feel very good being classified without me knowing anything about you does it??
People like seeing the Knicks fail because Knicks fans are the most unrealistic and arrogant fans there are.. You have that same arrogant attitude towards anyone who plays for the Knicks.. People that are gone are another story though.. Duhon was a solid PG for a while with the Knicks.. He did what he could.. He is not a starting PG.. Everyone, including him, knows that.. He did good for what he had and for the pressure that was put on him.. Robinson was a cancer even though he helped the Celtics get to the Finals.. Crawford wasnt good enough even though he was the 6th man of the year.. McGrady is washed up… Harrington didnt like his role.. I have heard it all.. Till you show otherwise, you are just another Knicks fan..
Here is a little something about me that you didnt know.. I root for the Knicks… I feel bad for them.. I know the coach on a personal level.. I want them to be successful.. I hate hearing about how the Eastern Conference is weaker than the Western.. If the Knicks were better about managing their team, they have had the opportunity to be a powerhouse team in the East..
I root for the team but I hate the fans because of their big city since of entitlement…

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhat is this size you speak of?? Lee is 6’9 250 and Amare is 6’10 245… Amare doenst defend.. You will see.. But of course, you are over rating this guy before he has played for ya.. This was a thread about lots of things but if anyone has read it, it is only about the Knicks… Every thread, where the Knicks are mentioned gets dominate by how good a Knicks player is going to be or how good the team is going to be when they get this person or that person because everyone wants to play in NY…

bkballerParticipantDuhon did good? the same duhon that averaged 4ppg and 5 apg shooting like 27% from the floor for a 2 month stretch? The same Duhon that got EVERY assist off the same pick and roll with David Lee even when it was not there? Same Duhon that wouldn’t make a shot for 4-5 games in a row?
Robinson “helped” the celtics by having one good game…. celtics kept him on a VERY short leash. The same Nate that played like 1 game the first 2 round… ye crucial to the success.
Crawford finally got the right role, thats what he is a high volume player that is great off the bench…. not so great as your 1 or 2 option though.
Harrington is the dumbest player in the NBA, I stick to that. chuck that just put his head down and tried to do something. How many players do you know that got game costing hanging on the rim technicals last 30 seconds of the game TWICE in the same month?
As for the whole hate the fans thing, thats a bit of a generalization isn’t it? I haven;t seen a single mention of the Knicks being anything more than decent in this forum. As for the fans, yes you will have hungry fans when your team struggled for a decade and every day there is a different rumor in the paper about them getting someone. I have noticed this with other teams of “more rational” fans, once their team is mentioned in any rumor they act the same exact way, make stupid trade threads that make no sense etc. Part of being a fan is being at leats being somewhat of a homer, just because the Knicks are part of every story it seems like we the fans are the ones to blame for it…0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 9:16pm #391623

bkballerParticipantAnd David Lee just plays small, you obviously have not watched many Knick games because it was literally a lay up line for opponents out there. Lee averaged less than HALF A BLOCK a game… hows that for a defensive presence.

bkballerParticipantAmare IS better than Lee, defensively (trust me I am aware he is a bad defender) and offensively, its a fact.
I’m sorry this is how the world and the media works… the big fish gets all the attention even when they are not the best at something. Sure you will find asshole fans, but to say something like that about an area is retarded. Thats like me saying that every state that doesn’t touch an ocean has dirty toothless rednecks that cant read (they do btw lol). NY is the center of the world, especially the media world, (I don’t care call me a NY dick, facts are facts) and they will still be more discussed if they lose for another decade than the sacramento kings if they win 10 titles the next decade. Don’t blame the fans…0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/31/2010 - 9:24pm #391625

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhatever man.. You say what you want.. When a player is on your team, he is the next great thing but when he is gone, he is nothing more than a scrub…
You generalized me so I can generalize you.. I have a problem with Knicks fans because of 29 out of 30 of the fans are jerks… You and I both know that.. My experiences make me have a problem with them.. There are a couple of Knicks fans here that I respect because they arent freaking crazy..
Oh, and about Duhon.. He was thrust into a role that everyone and their mother knew he couldnt play.. He was in a city where no matter what he did, it wasnt enough… when you hear that for so long, it gets to your head… I bet he is a changed man in Orlando…
Go to the other forums and look where the Knicks are going to be great “when…” There is always something.. They werent good because of… Yall make excuses like Crawford wasnt in the right role or Harrington is dumb.. Yall use that as the reason your team is bad but the real reason is because your management sucks and yall have turned a once great franchise into a team that is a couple notches above the Clippers…

He used to be a better standing jumper than Lee but I question that now.. Amare has lost some hops.. He is actually about the same as Lee offensively..

bkballerParticipantI don’t know where you are from so this is more of a generalization of people who share your opinions of NY fans. If you can call me am arrogant, elitist NY asshole then it would only be fair for me to call you an uneducated, toothless, truck driving redneck right? I mean stuff like this should be able to work both ways right… it doesn’t though because there is always a double standard on picking on the little guy. If I call you names, I’m being stupid, I’m the cocky jerk that likes to make fun of people, meanwhile you are just defending the average american against cocky new yorkers.

bkballerParticipantAmare won’t play center, not for a large chunk of the game at least…Turiaf will cover 20 minutes or so at C and maybe we will get something out of Curry and Mozgvo (HUGE maybe). Harrington IS AN IDIOT, he has been traded from losing team to losing team and has always left on bad terms. If Melo leaves, JR gets traded and Billups bails you will see how smart Harrington is.

bkballerParticipantAmare will at least be noticable in the paint he block the occasional shot and plays much bigger than Lee, the interior defense will still stink but it will be better. Ill take better interior defense and one or two less pointless rebounds over Lee getting every NY rebound teams scoring 110 points because there is noone in the paint.Turiaf and Amare >>>>>>> Lee and Jeffries. You forget to mention how awful jeffries rebounded, or how harrington wouldn’t even jump for rebounds just wait for Lee to do it.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhy not play him where he belongs and sign a freaking center to just rebound then?? BTW, Jefferies was one of the most valuable players in NY.. After he was traded, the franchise was begging to get him back.. Harrington thinks he is Carmelo Anthony and he doenst have to rebound.. BTW, Turiaf is short for the C position too..
Yall had centers that seem to do well elsewhere but they just didnt cut it with NY.. Bash Lee all you want but he carried a loosing team and never once said a thing about it.. He never bitched about his players, his role, or him playing out of position.. How rare is that for a guy playing for the Knicks??

bkballerParticipantwait why can you call me an arrogant New Yorker and I can’t say anything without you getting mad? Suddenly you have a smartass answer about fucking your sister. You made my point for me. And i stated I dont know where you are from, but generally people that have a problem with NY are not from Chicago or LA because I’m sorry to break it to you Bulls fans are just as bad. The rest of the world will agree with me that middle America gives America a bad name and is the reason for the jokes about America worldwide. Europe and much of the world sees america as a bunch of fat, uneducated, truck driving rednecks but respect New York. So it don’t care if Billy Bob in Arkansas agrees with you that NY sucks, truth is NY and NYers are respected worldwide and Billy Bob’s state gives this country a bad name.

bkballerParticipantI loved Lee, but his leaving wont hurt the Knicks as much as you think. He played out of position because the Knicks were doing damage control of being a mess for 7-8 years and really had noone else to play there. Who is this capable center? Darko? Barron? or Eddy Curry who hasnt been able to play for 2 years? He played there out of necessity and his numbers benefited at the expense of the team, not his fault but it skewed stats.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWho said I am mad?? I am just defending myself like you are… You said I am a redneck.. I see rednecks like I described.. You say other fans are just as bad?? I dont see it..
Middle America gives America a bad name?? Isnt Middle America the part of the nation that provides the most resources?? I mean dont they provide you with all your veggies and meats so that you dont have to get your fingers dirty?? I mean without Middle America, what is America?? I guess its all movies, Gatoraide, and Nike right?? I am glad that people in Europe think NY is cool.. I have been to Europe and NY and the only thing I heard positive about NY, while I was in Europe was the statue.. Thats it.. You go ahead and think that you are respected thought.. Get respect from other countries while Middle America works to get us food so we dont have to bust our asses everyday for a meal..
I dont care where you are from, you dont go bashing the only part of the country that keeps us from being a third world country man.. They provide the surplus of food so that if we HAD to, we could be independent from the rest of the world…

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDarko.. Remember, he was resurrecting his career in NY but he rode the bench.. Then when he was traded, he was a starter.. He was capable.. Barron stepped in and did well when it was too late for anything to matter…

bkballerParticipantMovies, Gatorade and Nike? You are talking about tomatoes and I am talking about the financial capital of the world. I’m pretty sure NY is a HUGE reason America is where it is today, don’t act like Mississippi contributed more to this country than NY. w/e this is getting ridiculous, have fun planting potatoes tomorrow Billy.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantSure, NY helped but NY provides no recourses to keep America afloat.. NY could be located at the tip of Flordia and be the exact same as it is now.. It could be in South Carolina and be the same city.. NY is what it is because of people.. People wouldnt be able to branch out and do other things if it werent for someone providing enough food so that it wasnt our only priority.. That is Middle America.. Farmers, Ranchers, Miners, ect.. Without them, you would freaking starve in your financial capitol…
Have fun with your team that scores alot but never quite gets it done.. So many people want to play there but you cant seem to get the players you want.. Just a notch above the Clippers….

bkballerParticipantbtw I actually don’t hate these people and respect what they do, just trying to prove a point how easy it is to generalize about someone

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWithout a surplus of food, your ideas are just that.. Ideas.. You cant set her and down play the importance of Middle America.. If you do, you clearly arent as smart as you think you are.. This whole country works together to survive but if it came right down to it, food is more important to survival than your business savvy.. Give me a sac full of potatoes and you a sac full of your business practice and drop us off on an island and lets see who lives the longest off of their stuff…

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHow is my point invalid.. You are no more important than me.. If I am a potato farmer, I provide food for you when you are on your business trip and stop by McDonalds or Hardees.. You are just being irrational now.. I understand generalizations but you are doing it about a whole country and I am doing it about 1 fan base… Do you not see the difference??

The8thDeadlySinParticipantYou are the one that brought up the fact that you are in the financial capitol of America.. I just brought up that the rest of Middle America allows you to do what you do..
