dwat4444ParticipantObviously, this summer has not been great to Lebron for various reasons, whether it be being dropped from GOAT conversations or his exposure as a “child in a 6’8 man’s body”, his reputation has been crushed; however, how much of this is truly deserved? We people as a whole tend to expect more from athletes and celebrities than we would from ourselves, and hell, we should, but when these people are exposed to be less than great, why should we feel free to simply hate on them at our on whimbs? I personally have probably said many things unflattering about Lebron over the past months, but looking back, do I really deserve to have my opinion when there is no way I or anyone else knows what its like in his shoes? Lebron has gone from a savior of a city, to an antichrist-like figure, to an immature public figure. but why? Sure, he didn’t do things the best way possible, but he handled them better than most would’ve, whether we’ll admit it or not. So, let’s not pass judgement on the man so quickly, because he’s done more than any of us ever will, and if anything deserves praise.
ok, thats my piece, and its hard for me to say, but i had to do it. TY

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantIMO you contradict yourself a little bit. On one hand you question whether you deserve to have an opinion and wonder if the public puts athletes and celebrities on too high of a pedestal. I’m pretty sure he raised that pedestal himself.
When a person enjoy’s their celebrity and takes full advantage of it as we all must agree James does, especially with “The Decision,” he opens himself up to ridicule. He put himself on an hour special to get a reaction. He def got a reaction…
If he wants to fix his rep he can in just a few months. He’s showed he’s no Jordan and doesn’t want to be Jordan, but he has time to show he wants to be like Bol. Be an athlete with a real impact.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/29/2010 - 1:46pm #365156
whyyouhatingParticipanteven if he wins a chip people will bring this up…
we should but a ban on this topic on here until the playoffs or finals.
But I say he was not the only one to blame…
the Cavs were to.
It’s like going out with the finest girl in high school, that doesn’t treat you good but you don’t want her to leave you
because she makes you popular and she his so hot…
one day she dumps you in front of the whole school for a better looking guy.
Yeah she is wrong for what she did, but you allowed her to dawg you out all this time and you took it.
You Cleveland are to blame as well. Plus you cheated to get her by tanking all those games that season.
Lets get over this shit already he left if he was a bust you guys would give a shit, you would be trading him by year 3.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/29/2010 - 1:50pm #365157
stanford hoopshe raised it or did the media raise it?..did he call the meadia and tell them to interview him after every game?..is he part of it? yes. but most players arent gonna turn down compliments or say no when someone says they are the greatest or king etc

sacphil_08ParticipantWell everyone is entitled to their own opinion so yes you can have an opinion. I personally believe that lebron deserves the heat he’s taking (no pun intended) and here’s why:
Its obvious that lebron has a humongous ego and its been on display for the better part of his 7 years in cleveland. He was treated like some kind of god and was even called the king. He started doing little pre game antics such as the ‘photoshoots’ and other in game antics even, such as eating someone’s popcorn when he flew into the stands (ala terrell owens) and even the crap he was talking to joakim noah. He’s brought all this attention on himself and seemed to act like he was fine with all the attention and what not. But when he was unable to elevate the cavs (who the past two seasons have had enough to get it done) he realized that he may have done too much which was evident in his retreat to miami. Everyone wants to say he’s a free agent and that he is entitled to do that but lebron obviously hasnt made himself out to be your normal free agent. Tyson chandler is a normal free agent. Where he plays will help a team but he’s not the player of lebron’s magnitude. Raymond felton is a normal free agent. He’ll do the same tyson chandler will but he’s not the magnitude of lebron either. Lebron has been made out to become one of the GOATs already and he has embraced that and now him going to miami to play with dwade and bosh is him succumbing to the fact that he doesn’t feel capable of leading a team as the main guy to the promised land. People will argue that mo williams didnt play well, and that parker and jamison and all those guys that cleveland went out to get didnt perform well enough. Yes they struggled but in the face of adversity and when all hope looks lost your superstar and your ‘potential great’ is supposed to lead you and do what it takes to get it done. As much as i dont like kobe, boston was giving the lakers more than they could handle in the finals and then kobe became kobe and got his self going and teammates going and they won a tough game 7 and the championship. Thats what has to be done in order to be called a great and maybe lebron either doesnt want to push that far or he realizes he cant push that far. i personally question his will to win. Which is why i believe he just gave up on cleveland and went with a guy in dwade that has a championship already and plays his heart out EACH AND EVERY GAME something lebron doesnt do and with a guy like that that is also one of the most talented guys in the league it takes alot of pressure of him. Chris bosh is more a compliment than anything and if bosh was to have signed in cleveland or he and lebron were on the same team that would be fine. Bosh is a more highly touted free agent yes but he’s not dwade caliber so im not mad at that. To be a great you have to defeat greats and dwade is on track to become a great, which is why jordan and magic are disappointed in lebron because they went at eachother with mj obviously winning0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/29/2010 - 2:22pm #365172
whyyouhatingParticipantI respect you opinion but Cleveland had enough to beat LA or the Magic…
I like Jamison but he is no Pau or even better than Lewis no way are the Cavs deeper than the Magic
3 HOF’s in Boston.
No they did not really have a chance.
LBJ is at fault to he knows he is not MJ or the King but took all the attention an ran with it, but most of us and the
media gave it to him before he earn it.
You can’t be the King with a ring.
But people want to get ride of Kobe so bad they found the next hot guy ( pause) games and gave him the tittle
before he earned it.
The Cavs tried to get talent around him but not the better talent than the team he would be competing against
for a chip…
He wanted Aarme they got him Jamison as a consultation.
Mo Willaims is nice but he is not better than Rondo, or Jamer, and him and Fisher are close because of Fish’s
experience.0 - AuthorPosts
