RUDEBOY_ParticipantLast week all the talk centered around New Orleans All-Star guard Chris Paul..After he said he wanted to be traded..Monday Paul meet with Hornets teams officials including new coach Monty Williams and new G.M Dell Demps..
After the meeting Demps issued a statement saying CP3 never mentioned a trade during their 90 minute meeting..Later in the day Paul told reporters he loved the city and the Hornets is where he started his career and where he wanted to finish it…
But dont believe that everything has been smoothed out..
Its in the team’s best interests to say Paul didnt request a trade..That way they dont seem eager to trade him..Secretly the Hornets are looking for the best deal..
Clearly CP3 wants out..He’s been upset with the team for trading center Chandler & upset of the firing of former coach and friend Byron Scott..CP3 announced in public how he wanted Carmelo to follow him and Amare to New York..
I’ve never seen a player request a trade then a few days later say everything is ok..Most of the time when a guy asked to be traded it means he’s using it as a bargaining tool to get more money or more years added to his deal…
So what did Paul gain from the meeting? Did they tell him they plan to add another superstar? That cant be true..The team is trying to trim payroll to make things more attractive to the new owners..Thats why they havent made any major signings this summer..Expect CP3 to be traded before the season starts or during the trade deadline…0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 8:42pm #363330

DanEboyParticipantChris Broussard said the Hornets will not trade him….Broussard seems to know everything these days
Although if the Hornets are not in contention around the trade deadline…I can see them trading him.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantYea I agree, too much rumored stories and talk for him not to be, he has also stressed a lot how unhappy he is with the NO organization and they probably do not want their new coach (believe he is the youngest in the NBA) to be completely flustered and frustrated with Paul.

NYK2010ParticipantSince he’s Kobe of course he gets away with it, when Stephen Jackson demanded a trade he gets fined and killed in the media. Paul can’t be moved to the Magic or Knicks rite now becaz of trade rules.
Outside of the Portland and Dallas what teams on that list have a legit shot at hime rite now?0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/27/2010 - 4:21am #363390

Toronto16ParticipantThe Hornets should be jerks and hold unto him this season, and them at the trade deadline next season, trade him to the Clippers.

NashyMingParticipantCP3 is the franchise for Hornets. They need him to be there to sell tickets.
Luckily, he probably has higher work ethic than Wince Harder, so he should still be an all-star even if he’s stuck in New Orleans.
The best move is for the Hornets is to trade Paul now for 90 cents on a dollar. If they wait till trade deadline, they may be 70 cents on a dollar since it’s easier to trade in the offseason when the roster is not finalized. If they try to trade him next year, I am pretty sure they would be looking at 50 cents on a dollar because there are only limited number of team would go after a super star knowing he can leave after 1 year. Only those that would be confident enough to retain Paul would try to send a package.
If the Hornets still stick with Paul, they will likely lose him for a big TE and picks. Raptors and Cavs are good examples.
That’s why I have been wanting the Raptors to trade Bosh 2 years ago, when he was still under contract for 2 years. Could have at least gotten 90 cents on a dollar.

kerry kittlesParticipantHere’s a quote from the article on realgm’s homepage: “Meanwhile, the Hornets have been looking at the Magic, Bobcats and Nets as potential trade partners.”
I don’t think the pieces the magic have to offer are that attractive. I think he’ll either go portland, new jersey or charlotte if he gets traded because those teams can offer the most in return.
