Kevin Jones?

Seems like a solid player but I haven’t really seen him do that well to give him any positive credibility, right now if he were to declare next season he would realistically be early 2nd round due to his inconsistent jump shot, disappearing a lot in games, loses focus easily and has not really established himself as a player. With Ebanks gone he is likely to take the leadership role of West Virginia, he has potential and I believe can be a very good defender next season, he is pretty versatile and if he does as well as I hear a lot of people say he will next season could potentially be late 1st round in the 2011 draft.

He has a solid inside/outside game…i watched him single-handedly take down my UW Huskies in this past tournament…he nailed a lot of outside shots…he has a strong body and i fully believe he can play/guard the 3 position at the next level at 6’8” 250 lbs.

now for the bad news…he’s raw…hes not that polished back to the basket low post threat nor is he going to create his own shot off the dribble…kind of reminds me of wayne chism

the guy shot 40% from 3. He’s got an NBA body, he’s a willing rebounder 7 boards per. He’s lengthy but does have great quickness and isnt a freak although not a slouch athletically. Not going to break you down off the dribble but I think he’s got some skill. He should put up 16+ ppg this year.

He’s got a ton of raw talent. As of now he’s a very versatile defender and good rebounder. Still though while he flashes skill he hasn’t put it together and mainly gets by on athleticism. I think ball handling is a major area that he should work on. With that said it’s funny because everyone loves Ebanks now and thinks he’s the next Ariza, but every time I tuned in to WVU to watch Ebanks I was constantly disappointed. Ebanks took 5 steps back last year and just looked lost and disinterested offensively every time. Every time I tried to watch Ebanks it was Jones who popped out to me. Jones just found a way to score even if it wasn’t always pretty while Ebanks actually hurt his team a ton on the offensive end which consequently affected him defensively. Not hating on Ebanks but a few summer league games doesn’t make him the next Ariza. He’s still got a ton of work to do and while he was a steal IMO late first was the absolute earliest he should have gone.

He is the most energetic player in college basketball. He can face-up and down down open shots and he’s a beast on the offensive glass. He’s not real talented, but he could make a team and an energetic combo forward who creates small mismatches. My comparison for him is Matt Barnes.

His position in the NBA will be pf. I like this guy a lot as a college player, but his nba potential is limited because he will struggle guarding 4’s in the NBA. If he keeps working on his jumper, he has a chance to be a late first round pick.
