Which center do you think will have more of an impact and why?

    Tyson Chandler or Brendan Haywood?

both are pretty much toss ups in my book. But ill give a slight edge to chandler if he is healthy.

It probably depends on which team they face and which style they choose.
If they want to run, they could use Chandler.
If the want to run a more controlled offense with a true big in the middle, they could use Haywood.
Either one of them can crash the boards, block shots and convert easy buckets.

Haywood should start. He gets paid much more (like it or not…it factors in), and he’s a better post defender. Also less foul-prone, which is a factor for defensive-minded, rebounding bigs with no offense like Haywood and Chandler.

If Chandler is 100% healthy I’ll give him the start. But right now I see Haywood having an advantage.

Agreed. I say Haywood starts for half the season while chandler puts up decent numbers and slowly moves into the starting spot. Chandler has way more upside IMO

I think this is the perfect place for Chandler where he doesn’t have to be relied on for heavy minutes. He can go out there like a mad man blocking shots, going for offensive rebounds and such. He can pick up fouls because in today’s NBA Haywood is about as solid as a 7 footer than you will find. The Mavs should be a top 3 team in the West, no excuses for Dirk anymore. Although he wasn’t great in summer league Roddy Beaubois should allow Kidd to get more rest and stay fresh like Goran does for Nash.

Play it out in training camp, see who wants it.
