JNixonParticipantAlabama:
Senario Hillman- Freakishly athletic combo guard…Has long arms and a strong and stocky build at 6’1″… Needs to improve his handle and shooting ability to be taken seriously…Has the potential to break out as a Senior though
JaMychal Green- Long and athletic 6’9 PF with a skinny frame…Can post or face-up but his back to basket game is very raw…Energetic shot-blocker who needs strength to improve
Florida:
Chandler Parsons- He, NOT KENNY BOYNTON, is the most talented player on their team. Can stroke the ball, pass it, create his own shots, and gets after it on D. He’s a 6’9 swingman with very good athleticism too. Makes clutch shots. GUARANTEED 1st rounder next year. He, not Gordon Hayward, is the next Mike Miller type prospect.
Kenny Boynton- 6’2 volume shooter does have a strong jumper, but he’s not a PG at all and teams will want him to show that he is. Plays solid D. Mediocre athlete and ball-handler. Overhyped prospect or just not a high upside player?
Vernon Macklin- Long and athletic 6’10 235 lb big isn’t talented offensively, but he is a good shot-blocker and has a solid hook shot.
Georgiaaaaaaaa:
Travis Leslie- The 6’4 Leslie is the most athletic player in the nation HANDS DOWN. Fast as hell, jumps out of the building, and is very fluid and agile. Athleticism makes him outstanding as a rebounder and shot-blocker on the wing. Has a decent jumper, but needs to improve his handle. Good defender. Should be a top 20 pick in 2011.
Trey Thompkins- Mismatch problem. Can shoot the 3 ball, score in the the mid-range, and play with his back to the basket. Huge hands and long arms. Not very athletic or quick, but he’s strong and has a high IQ. Should be a lotto pick in 2011.
Kentucky:
Brandon Knight- Gary Payton 2.0. Defends like a mad man, a good shooter, strong body, can run a team, and is a good slasher. Won’t show it next year, but he has post-up potential too down the line with his size (6’4 190). Likely top-10 pick in 2011.
Enes Kanter- He’s a big bodied post man with a developed frame (6’9 240) and a strong back to basket game. Also a good passer and mid-range shooter. Pretty good rebounder and has the potential to develop on D. Reminds me of Andrew Bogut. Likely top 5 pick in 2011.
Terrence Jones- 6’8 220 combo forward has some nice mismatch ability. Can shoot the ball as deep as the college 3-point line, is a good passer, and has good athleticism. Needs to improve on D, but he has a fundamental approach to the game. Plays like Marvin Williams. Potential lottery pick in 2011.
Miss. State:
Ravern Johnson- Deep ball shooter who can also get out and make nice athletic plays in transition. Good athleticism and quickness. Poor ball-handling limits his slashing ability. Needs to get bigger and stronger (6’7 195).
Renardo Sidney- Big-bodied big man who can score and rebound the same way a guy like Zach Randolph can. Dribbles the ball well for a 6’9 250 lb manchild. Needs to tone up his body and get in ideal conditioning. Also a nonchalant defender. Still, his talent will make him a 1st rounder in 2011.
Ole Miss:
Chris Warren- He’s fast as hell and one of the best pure shooters in the nation. He’s not a true PG and he’s extremely ball-dominant and wild. Also small and narrow which limits him around the rim (5’11 170).
Terrance Henry- He’s along that skinny and tall SG/SF (6’9 195) who can score and shoot it very well. He has scoring potential in the long-term. Look out for him!
Tennessee:
Tobias Harris- Huge talent with inside-outside ability at 6’8 230. Can score and reminds me of Michael Beasley with his scoring ability. Not that athletic and is a tweener, but he’s capable of scoring big and rebounding big too. Could be a 2011 or 2012 1st round prospect.
Scotty Hopson- Frustrating. 6’7 190 lb Hopson has great shooting abilty and touch on the wing , and he’s a great athlete. Still, he’s is a terrible ball-handler which limits his slashing ability and he is a HORRIBLE defender. Also coasts through games and disappears alot. Has J.R. Smith type potential at SG, but he has to make some improvements somewhere next year.
Vanderbilt:
Jeff Taylor- Elite athleticism and defensive ability. Great size and strength. Can score around the rim and in transition. Still, he’s a poor shooter with a lack of range, and ball-handling is also terrible. Can create for himself much. Ball slows him down. Still, he’s a projected 1st round prospect because of his upside.
John Jenkins- He’ll prove to be the best shooter in college basketball next season (bold prediction), but he’s below average at everything else. Still, his shot is cash and he has OK size for a SG.

gregoden08ParticipantReally good dude. SEC has a lot of nice prospects. Out of this list, 8-10 have a shot to be first rounders. Can’t wait to see my man Jones play next year.

dipt1982ParticipantBeing a Florida fan, I agree to a point, I think Parsons is the most IMPORTANT/VITAL player on the team, but I think Boynton has the most raw talent and upside. I would have thrown Alex Tyus up there instead of Macklin, he has a nice mid-range game, though a bit undersized . Either way, I like Tyus, Macklin, Parsons to all get a shot in the NBA, Parsons will not be a first rounder though IMO. Good job on the scouting report of the SEC…

stanford hoopstobias harris 2011 lotto pick hands down

Demarcus OnealParticipantgreat list man but everyone knows erving walker is the best player on florida
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:31pm #356307

JNixonParticipantKenny Boynton has no raw talent lol…He’s a chucker from the perimeter. Chandler Parsons will be better than him.
Alex Tyus is garbage. I wouldn’t put his NAME close to NBA. Both are long-shot NBA prospects, but Tyus is worse than Macklin is. Plus, Tyus has a receding hairline and he’s in college. smh.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:32pm #356308

JNixonParticipantErving Walker is a 5’8 SG in a PG’s body. And he’s a chucker who finishes poorly around the rim and is an inefficient shooter. That guy isn’t a true NBA prospect
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:33pm #356311

dipt1982ParticipantJudging his game for a receding hairline, great, your judge of talent is weak at best…I bet you thought Maurice Speights was garbage too huh? SMH
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:35pm #356313

dipt1982ParticipantParsons is decent, but don’t get all googly eyed thinking he’s gonna be the next Gordon Hayward…LMAO
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:40pm #356319

JNixonParticipantI said I thought he was the next Mike Miller lol…
And nah, I could tell Speights had talent. He was a big-time recruit in HS, and he was just waiting his turn to play after Horford, Noah, and Richard won that last title.

Demarcus OnealParticipantIrving isnt a pro prospect but was the best player on the gators last year
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 2:56pm #356337
stanford hoopsnba teams actually like boyton and tyus from what i read. Come on people you have to remember this is a opinion post not whats really gonna happen so you cant get upset at the posters for saying what they think will happen or whos good and whos not
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:00pm #356341

dipt1982ParticipantI’m not getting mad, it’s just fun to get people riled up sometimes. And yes, I know NBA scouts are high on Kenny and Tyus, they are both just as good as Parsons. Boynton was the star of that team, while Parsons was maybe the most consistent. No hate Iggy, not mad at ya, just question how you think Tyus is garbage???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:06pm #356345

JNixonParticipantHe’s not a talented player. He’s a decent athlete down low and all, but he’s not a shot-creator, he floats too much at times offensively at PF/C, and his low-post game isn’t strong at all. It also doesn’t help that he’s very skinny and narrow, which hurts him on D. The only NBA caliber skill he has is a 15 foot jumper, and the fact that he’s a decent athlete and a high motor player. He could get a SL invite, but even that will have to come if he has a relatively big season. I think his PT will decrease with the addition of Patric Young too at the PF spot…Young is an NBA prospect down the line too

stanford hoopsto be honest im not too high on kenny. i havent watched him alot but when i have he seems to just take alot of shots. he can score ill give him that be he pretty much reminds me of darius washington
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:12pm #356353

JNixonParticipantYeah Boynton is a chucker. And he shot like 20-something% on 3’s. He’s a prospect and I expect that too improve next year, but him and Irving Walker are wild in their shot selection.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:14pm #356356

dipt1982ParticipantHe was just a freshman adjusting to the college game, he can only get better. When he’s hot, he’s HOT!!! It’ll come as he ages…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:16pm #356358
stanford hoopsi dont doubt he will score alot at florida but i dont see alot that translates to the nba since he will have to leanr to be more of a point guard unless hes just so good as a scorer that he can be like a nate robinson which is possible
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:20pm #356362

dipt1982ParticipantThis is true, he just needs to learn the point guard position a little better. But he can score lights out sometimes. Like the NCAA tourney last yr.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:45pm #356390

gregoden08ParticipantWas thinking of a comparison for him…Skinnier JJ Hickson?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 3:48pm #356391

JNixonParticipantJaMychal Green? That’s a solid comparison for him. I never have had a good one, but I like that one.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 5:26pm #356469

gregoden08ParticipantCan you think of a good comparison for Terrence Jones and Tobias Harris? Jones is my man, but I can’t seem to think of a comparison for him. Tobias kind of reminds me of Antwan Jamison…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 6:37pm #356518

JNixonParticipantTerrence Jones=Marvin Williams
Tobias Harris=Al Harrington/Michael Beasley0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 6:53pm #356526

ghettosermonParticipantMacklin is like a homeless man’s Al Horford.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 7:47pm #356541

McDunkinLOL at Tyus hairline..his forehead/dreads are exactly like a predators..and that has always bothered me more than it should
but what do you think of Patric Young
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 8:01pm #356545

JNixonParticipantYoung is strong, energetic, tough rebounder, and a great athlete for a combo forward. He’s clearly more of a PF than a SF, but he should either start next season or get extended time. He has nice long-term potential, but he’s raw offensively and isn’t great facing up or playing with his back to the basket.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 11:38am #356823
finneganParticipantterrence jones = left handed jeff green
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/20/2010 - 8:22pm #358958
bigblackNbeautifulParticipantMike rosario?? He was a mickey d all american. Played on a sh!t team at rutgers. Idk I always thought he as a calming 2nd/3rd string point in the pros.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/20/2010 - 8:26pm #358961

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI saw most of Rutgers’ games last year, and the only way Rosario will make it to the NBA is if he shows a deadly stroke from NBA range. He’s not a point guard, and he’s too small to play shooting guard.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/20/2010 - 8:27pm #358962

JNixonParticipantRosario is a big talent on the wing with the ability to put the ball in the basket at all 3 levels…Great handles…Cat quick…Good athlete….Not efficient….A little too ball-dominant at times…Not exactly what you’d consider a good defender…Not a PG, which is a concern since he’s 6’2…He has big talent, but his lack of PG ability and wild style of play works against him as a 2012 prospect
