ScareCrowsRevengeParticipantEvan Turner for OJ Mayo…I know I know why…but with all this OJ to Pg talk and Turner being more of a passer than scorer…would the Sixers and Grizzles benefit from a swap of their young Sg’s…OJ was a 2o point scorer and I feel he can be a leading scorer in Philly…Memphis has needed a play maker and are now forcing OJ into that role…I know OJ can play point but he’s a better scorer than passer IMO…Turner is a better passer than scorer…Wouldn’t it be a wash talent wise…With Gay,Zac and Co. Evan can be more of a playmaker than in Philly with Holiday and Iggy needing the ball and being great play makers too…OJ would become a 1st option and with Holiday,Mayo and Iggy the Sixers have a young dynamic core up top…Mayo can defend and he and Jrue can be a good back front for the future…Don’t wanna sound like I’m down on Turner but I don’t think he’s the best fit on the Sixers…
Sixers Line Up
Holiday-Mayo-Iguadola-Brand-Speights-Thad=Williams-Hawes-Nocioni…
Grizzles Line Up
Conley-Turner-Gay-Zac-Gasol-Young-Arthur-Thabeet-Vasquez-Carrol…
After all that I think about the Grizzles being cheap and having Turner for more years as Mayo is a FA soon…I see OJ bolting in FA unless he’s the focus of the offense where ever he plays…I don’t see him in Memphis for long…What about a Turner for Mayo swap…With Thabeet and Lou Williams Involved as well…

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantEvan Turner hasn’t played a official NBA game yet, Why would Memphis do this

ScareCrowsRevengeParticipantIs it a good swap or Not…leave your threats afterward…

getbucketsParticipantif the sixers could pull this off i would love my life.. why would the grizz ever do this? oj mayo is a proven stud in the NBA… hes going to be really special… evan turner has the chance to be really good but u already know what u have in OJ…. c’mon son

Michael.S.ParticipantI think it’s a decent swap, but i don’t see why eithr sid would do it. Turner isn’t a true pg and Mayo is probably just as good as Turner at creating for others and he is a better scorer.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI don’t think Memphis does it.
Still don’t understand why Memphis would give up OJ Mayo who looks like a young Mitch Richmond type for Evan Turner who was suspect in summer league?

getbucketsParticipantits not a good swap… great for the sixers… not too good for the grizzlies

Russell0WestbrookParticipantIts not that bad if you look at them going big with a lineup of
pg: turner
sg: henry
sf: gay
pf: zbo
c: gasolturner is a pg in a sg body and mayo is a scorer more than a passer it would only be a good deal if they were both rookies because turner is an unknown in the nba while mayo has shown he will be special. If you are a sixers fan and you want them to get a scorer you would have been better off WISHING for eric gordon

John1980ParticipantYou dont trade unknown for proven talent…Gm’s get fired that way!!!

ScareCrowsRevengeParticipant???….right????
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/16/2010 - 9:30am #355454

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantJohn Wall is way better then Evan Turner. You know Memphis would do that deal.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/16/2010 - 10:52am #355505

ScareCrowsRevengeParticipantNBA ready out of them two….Upside Wall…NBA READY Turner..I thought that was case…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/16/2010 - 10:55am #355509

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWell…looking at the summer league stuff. You can make the argument that Wall is more NBA ready.
John Wall is seen as a Can’t Miss prospect
Evan Turner is seen as a (at best) all star type player.

ScareCrowsRevengeParticipantbeing in jeopardy…He’s all athleticism at this point…1 bad knee injury could hinder his game completely…I’d hate to see it but if he was injured by an ACL or MCL injury, would he still be a “can’t miss” prospect…Turner broke his back and still dominated…
0- Posted on: Fri, 07/16/2010 - 11:19am #355521

WizardofOzParticipantAnybody can get an ACL or an MCL injury. If Evan Turner were to get an ACL injury, he wouldn’t be able to come back from that. I give him his props for coming back from a severe back injury, but a back injury and ACL injury are completely different injuries. When Evan Turner suffered the back injury, he was projected to be out for 2 months. If you suffer an ACL injury, I don’t care who you are. You’re out for the season.
And who knows. If Wall suffered the same injury as Turner, he might have been able to make an early return too. You don’t know how tough Wall is because he’s never suffered a severe injury like that. Don’t talk until you actually see it happen.

ScareCrowsRevengeParticipantIf he gets a severe injury, that part of his game is over…I was just saying If a high flyer gets hurt…it effects him differently if a all around player gets injured…Look at Tmac and Grant Hill…T Mac is struggling because his game needed that elite burst and elevation…Grant had worse injuries but came back and wasn’t that far off from his game…he was older and no longer THE MAN..but he’s still playing at a high level…I was just saying what’s difference between Wall or Turner for OJ Mayo??? It’s still unproven for proven…right…
