I want some of your all opinions on what the Cavs are going to do… Not what they should do, but what they are going to do..

I feel like they should go ahead and trade everything worth value and get some draft picks and young players to build for the future.. Go ahead and admit that you screwed up by not getting Lebron some legit players and start over..

As of now, their lineup looks something like this:

    PG: Mo Williams
    SG: Anthony Parker
    SF: Jamario Moon
    PF: Antwan Jamison
    C: Anderson Verajao
    6th: JJ Hickson
    7th: Delonte West
    8th: Boobie Gibson
    9th: Danny Green
    10th: Leone Powe
    11th: Christian Enyenga
    12th: Sebestian Telfair

I might be leaving someone out but that is basically it..

They just signed Kyle Lowery to an offer d so they are going for another PG..

I feel like they are going to try to stay relevant by adding role players behind that starting lineup you see above.. To me, that team is an 8th seed in the playoffs at absolute best.. That is if Byron Scott gets everything possible out of that team.. I feel like they are going to try to sign another role player or two and call it an offseason.. Possibly a D-League call up or 2..

What do you think that they are going to as opposed to what they should do??

I know not many people will agree with me..But for the 1st 20 games of the season Cleveland will surprise alot of people why here are 3 reasons…They’ll start off the 1st 20 games of the season 12-8..Then expect the turmoil to begin…They will not make the playoffs next season…

1.They will be Busting their Butts off giving it their all.. Trying to please the owner ,the fans and the community..

2.They will play as a team..Lebron was such a dominate player for 7 years everything involved around him..They waited for Lebron to started & finished almost every play..

3.Each player now know that if they dont play well ..They could be traded at anytime….

I keep hearing Al Jefferson rumors for Cleveland, I don’t know who they’ll end up giving up for him, but I bet West is part of the deal. I think they’ll win about 40-45 games next year and be one of the last teams in the playoffs. That is if they can find a team identity and chemsitry without Lebron, I think Byron Scott will do pretty well there, because they are a pretty veteran team with some young talent.

The Cavs were one of a handful of teams that attended a workout Tuesday for former No. 3 overall draft pick Adam Morrison. The team is considering various small forward options, though Morrison is down the list. He has averaged 7.5 points on 37 percent shooting for his four-year career and just 2.4 points for the Lakers last season

Cavs need to jettison all their older players and start afresh with young talent. If they fail miserably this season then so be it, and they’ll be in with a chance for Barnes or whoever else you like from next year’s class. Give Hickson, Moon, Telfair, Gibson and Varejao a chance to grow as a unit. Parker could stay for some veteran presence I guess, but youth should be the way to go. Trying to stay competitive now would hurt them in the long run. Less is more.

However, after Dan’s little explosion, they’ll try everything they can to stay in the playoff hunt, and probably sign someone like Tracy McGrady to make a splash.

They will absolutely struggle. They will win about 30 or so games, maybe a few more or less on either side. I do not think Jamison could be a number one scoring option on a competitive team, and these guys do not have a Caron Butler to make it look like he can. Mo Williams might up his scoring, but his shooting percentages will plummet. They will play hard, and might not be the worst team in the league, but they have very few tradeable assets and it will be hard to add more. But, usually when a team loses an MVP, their team tends to go way down, especially with no viable replacement. Even if they get a guy like Marvin Williams, they will still be much less than a play-off team. Every player on that team either is a work in progress or an aging role player, so I see them having a very hard time unless someone really surprises and steps up. But as we saw, Jamison and Mo Williams are not exactly excellent defenders, and the other starters would be very inconsistent scorers, who would be able to actually create a shot on their own? Rebuild and just hope to add a player that can give you some hope for the future in 2011 and/or 2012.

I disagree I think the city and ownership is gonna be so focused on hating on lebron its gonna go down to the team and make them unfocused.

But I think they should do a fire sale everything over paid and overrated must go. Mo williams to the bobcats for expiring contracts. Varejo to OKC for Collison

I think Toronto will steal that from them as Toronto also won’t play defense.

What are they going to do with all of them PG’s especially Gibson & Telfair now that they’re trying to add Lowry? I guess 1 of them has to go now because Lowry will get a multi mil deal for x amount of years.

They need a scorer…. one comes to mind that is still on the market: Josh Howard as long as he is healthy he could work. They are not gonna be in the conference Finals but I think Howard could help them a bunch. Lebron’s supporting cast wasn’t as bad as advertised but they can win a playoff spot even without a signing.

On Nba.com I read maybe they are trying to sign and trade shaq for marvin Williams. I think that is a movement in the right direction.

I could see J Howard signing a 4 year deal, with the team having the last 2 years for options. Almost set up a rookie contract is. SHould be able to get him for the MLE or slightly more since he is coming off of an injury.

That trade with Shaq for Marvin Williams would straight up be THEFT. If atlanta does that, it would actually be worse than signing JJ for 123 MIL.

I think LeBron’s cast was worse than advertised. Mo Williams can’t create his own shot, Jamison may go back to a 20 ppg scorer but that will be out of necessity, and Varaejo, Hickson, and other only because LeBron made great passes to them so they could score in easy spots. It’s going to be a real rough year for the Cavs, I’d expect them to have a season similar to the Pistons last year.

lose a lot they may have to do one sided trades and trade draft picks for talent because many draft picks will want to leave after watching Lebron do it.

I just don’t see the Cavs being too competitive. Say you have Boston, Orlando, Chicago, Miami, Milwaukee and Atlanta as locks to be in the playoffs. Cleveland will be fighting with Charlotte, and New York for the final playoff spots. I think they are an 8th seed in the best case scenario. One injury and they are in trouble. J.J. Hickson is a talented player but I do not think he is a number one option. They just don’t have any #1 options. That’s going to keep them from winning consistently, especially in the much improved east.

Next year, they will show what I always thought they would be without LeBron…a 25-30 win team that will be hoping Lottery Night goes well for them. I mean look at that roster the OP posted…that is terrible. Can anyone really blame LeBron for wanting to get away from that mess?

I feel cleveland will show everybody that they are a lot better that given credit and players will acually get to show their skills. I can garuntee they will be one of the best defensive and teams in the league they have talent and a good coach now they will acually get to play their game and no have to play off of one guy all the time. LeBron has always put up good numbers but he never lets anybody else get their numbers eveybody who the cavs got to be his robin always played worse when they got to cleveland(shaq, jamison, larry hughes, big ben, and etc) they wont have the best record in the league cuz they lost their best player but they will make the playoffs they wont be in the lottery in case they do it on purpose to try to get another young stud in harrison barnes

I hate to say it but the Cavs will lose 45-60 games next season.

If I was Cleveland, I would look to deal players in December. I think they can find a team who wants someone for 2-3 seasons. Call me crazy but I think Antwan Jamison would be a solid fit in Houston and Mo Williams in Charlotte. I think the Cavs should be attack the trade market. Look for players who team might look to cash out on.

I think Cleveland will be in the lottery. Depending on what draft picks they have from Miami, they might have 2 picks this year to work with. With the state of talent coming into the NBA? That might be a good thing.

Cleveland won’t lose 60 games, but I don’t see them winning more than 45 games. I think since the East improved so drastically they will be 8-11.

I think it is more likely the Cavs lose 60 games than they win 40 games. With Jamison and Williams as your top options. Ouch.

The Rockets just matched the offer the Cavs made to Lowery. The Hawks would be stupid to do a sign and trade for Shaq unless they get something else.

I usually think this guy makes good posts but wow, the cavs winning 40-45 games???

Horrible prediction. I will be SHOCKED if they win more than 30…. I see them winning in the 20-25 range and won’t be surprised if it’s under 20 wins.
