    Anyone else see a rookie David West when you look at Patterson?

    – Both are not undersized, but very average height for a PF (around 6’9), and while not super heavy (around 240), are very strong.

    – Both have an inside/outside game. Patterson’s is still developing, but he has some SF skills.

    – Both appear to be adequate to good, ye not dominant rebounders.

    – Neither is a lockdown defender.

    – Both have great intangibles, and should reach or exceed their potential (West already has)

    This being said patterson might not get the same ppg as West because of the options in Houston, and the lack of an All-NBA pg, but they appear to be very comparable players.

    I’m a Patrick Patterson fan. He’s a little more athletic than David West and his low post game isn’t as developed but he does have some solid skills. I think if he could continue to work on adding a 15 to 17 ft jumper (a la Udonis Haslem) he could be a valuable piece alongside Yao Ming.
