    I’m watching this guy play on NBATV right now and he has some upside. I know most haven’t seen him play, tonight is only my 2nd time, but he looks very athletic and he seems like he has a decent jump shot. Does anyone think he can be a decent NBA player? Like a Sonny Weems type?

    yeah i seen the upside I think he can be a solid player not a starter he as the potential to be a solid defender he a mix between tony allen-and sonny weems

    The NBDL is full of Sonny Weemses. Europe is full of Sonny Weemses. Sonny Weems has an NBA career hanging by a thread, so it doesn’t say much for a guy that you think he could be like that. I do think Eyenga will get a chance to stick because of the situation Cleveland is in. They invested a pick in him, though that was the previous regime. What works in his favor is that they don’t have a ton of young players. Eyenga, Green, and Sasha Kaun will get a chance in what appears to be a brutal year for the Cavs, because they don’t really have any other choice.

    BTPH,

    I don’t think you’re giving Sonny Weems enough credit

    He’s only 24 and hes a big time athlete who can play the 2 or the 3

    when toronto started giving him decent playing time he put up solid numbers…the last 8 games of the year he averaged 14.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.5 spg, and shot 52% from the field

    i think he has found his niche as a slasher/transition expert/change of pace type player

    Will stay overseas for at least 1 more year. More than likely 2 years he still isn’t shooting the ball good. But is a FREAK athlete.
