llperez ..u mean u will put hill over pippen or carmelo? i’ll put hill in the the same class as bill walton..they’re both could’ve been so much better if they hadn’t spent the majority of their careers dealing with injuries …

im basing my list off of them at their best. Obviously hill’s career is less then pippens carrer. But Hill in his prime is slightly better then pippen in his prime in my book.

Penny over Deron Williams? Really? Penny has 36 more assists (read: 36 total. just over three game’s worth) than Deron Williams for his ENTIRE CAREER. He’s 38. Deron is 26.

I posted this a while ago, seems relevant again. With some edits:

I suppose this would be my top 10 list at every position only including guys I’ve seen play live. For example Abdul Jabbar seems pretty low on this list but because I didn’t start watching until the mid 80s I missed his prime, ditto for Dr J and Moses Malone.

    PG
    1. Magic Johnson
    2. Isaiah Thomas
    3. John Stockton
    4. Gary Payton
    5. Jason Kidd

    7. Chris Paul
    8. Kevin Johnson
    9. Chauncey Billups
    10. Tim Hardaway

    SG

    7. Joe Dumars
    8. Tracy McGrady
    9. Ray Allen
    10. Vince Carter

    SF
    1. Larry Bird
    2. Lebron James
    3. Scottie Pippin
    4. Dominique Wilkins
    5. James Worthy
    6. Paul Pierce
    7. Alex English

How can Larry Bird be the second best SF you claim you’ve been watching basketball for how long? Anyone who watched Larry Bird who won Championships and more mvps would know thats alot better than a guy who hasnt won anything!!!

bird’s TEAM winning more rings than lebron’s TEAM doesn’t make him the better player. in that case mchale is better than malone and bakley. in that case russell is the best player ever. bird skills were not better than lebrons.

Because he had point guard size doesnt mean Iverson was a PG. Iverson was a PG his rookie year and possibly his sophmore year but after that, he played SG for the rest of his career(Eric Snow was the PG for the Sixers.). Speaking of that I would put Iverson in the top 3.

Plus player championships take into account but it shouldnt be by much. Was it LeBron’s fault he was surrounded with a group of role players and Kobe was surrounded by Pau Gasol,Andrew Bynum,Ron Artest and Lamar Odom. As a celtics fan, i’ll admit when LeBron retires he’ll go down as the best SF of all time, and with his videogame team he should at least win a few rings.
