flybobbyflyParticipantThe last time that a team loaded their roster with superstars, and were supposedly sure shots for a championship, was when the Lakers acquired Karl Malone and Gary Payton to go along with Kobe and Shaq. Now they are not directly comparable because not all of those players were in their primes but it doesnt change the fact that a super team got beat in the finals by a team that played fundamental offense and hard nosed defense. The pistons didnt need any big names players to defeat the lakers. The Heat is a long way from having this tied up in my mind. Bosh still has almost no playoff experience and to me is a classic example of a player being over rated because he was the best player on a bad team for his whole career. Lebron and Wade are 2 of the most dramatic and immature stars i can think of. Im predicting this whole Heat team to be a bust. there are too many good coaches and teams that would have to lose in order for this project to work.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantBig difference.
GP and Malone were past prime and were seen as main pieces. The Heat have 3 of the top 14 players in the NBA.

DanEboyParticipantNot a good comparison at all. Just like when the Lakers had Wilt, West and Baylor…..past their primes.

mrknowitall313Participantthere is not a team in the east that can touch them. the celtics r one yr older and will miss perkins 4 6 months. n garnett, allen, n pierce havent exactly ben without injuries. add that in with their weak bench( minus tony allen n sheed) the magic still have vc and lewis the last time i checked so that takes them out of it. the bulls will b good but nowhere enough. the knicks will b mediocre at best. atlanta 2.

llperezman, for the hundredth time, malone was injured in the finals. He missed a game and played less then 30 minutes a game and sucked and was clearly uneffective. WHich was too bad becasue he played great in the first 3 rounds. This is not an excuse becasue the pistons were the better team, but please stop taliking about how the lakers had this amazing all time great team when one of those guys was injured.
