    Dallas:

Roddy Beaubois- He had a terrible game. Dribbled too much, ran into brick walls, turned it over a bunch and missed open shots. Usually is a solid shooter though. Still, he has impressive speed and some long arms and big hands. Crazy 1st step. Still not a playmaker for others. His D is rather mediocre for someone with his athletic and physical tools, although he can pressure the ball a little. Looks to score way more than pass. Settles for more jumpers than he probably should’ve. I don’t think he’s ready to be a starter at all, he needs to polish his skills some more. Right now, he’d be better as a scoring spark off the bench. He’s better than Barea though, despite this dud of a game.

Dominique Jones- I don’t know (or care) about stats in SL really. I don’t know what Jones’ stats were like. Jones was impressive though. He’s extremely strong and can really get to the basket. Finishes well around the basket. SUPER-DUPER aggressive. Not a shooter, and should pull up from 15 feet more (he had a solid middle game at USF though). Capable of playing PG in VERY short spurts. Played solid on-ball D, but Coby Karl did get him caught in screens (needs to improve off-ball awareness). I think he’ll be groomed to be an instant offense type for Dallas. He really is aggressive. Rodney Stuckey clone IMO.

J.R. Giddens- Always a fan of this guy. He’s the 1st basketball player who gave me his autograph (lol). The former HS phenom and Kansas/New Mexico star was largely ineffective today. He looked shaky handling the ball, didn’t move his feet on D well, shaky shot selection. I want him to make a team, but he’s been a disappointment in my eyes.

Omar Samhan- He played alright. Showed a soft touch and face-up shooting ability I didn’t know he had. Very big, but he’s a poor athlete with a lack of quickness. He has MAN BREASTS, lol. Has some talent, but he’s too slow to get his moves and shots off consistently. Rebounds well. Limited on D. I think he has some skills, some team should possibly stash him overseas or in the D-League for a few years and see what happens.

Jeremy Lin- Harvard guy played today. This is my 1st time seeing him play. He has a sturdy build, but he’s short for a SG. Not really NBA level at any aspect of the game, and is only decent athletically.

    Denver:

Ty Lawson- He’s the fastest player in the NBA IMO. Gets wherever he wants on the floor. Continues to look outstanding making spot up jump shots. Is cash when he’s open. Made an effort to show that he’s polishing his playmaking skills, which are improvable. Only looked to score if he was open. Has the strength and athleticism to finish, even through contact, around the rim despite his size. Decent defender who matches up well with speedy waterbug PG’s. Great backup PG, who is the ideal change of pace. He plays at a high speed, but still takes excellent care of the ball.

Coby Karl- Plays within himself. Takes all the right shots and makes all the right slashes. Plays strong and works hard. Gets rebounds. Capable of playing some PG because of his passing and decent handle. Competes on D, but lacks some of the tools to be truly serviceable. Somebody please get him a roster spot. He at least is a 12th man journeyer. Why won’t dad put him on?

Richard Roby- I remember when he was a projected 1st rounder after his Sophomore year at Colorado. Still has that nice jump shot. Made some athletic plays at the rim on the break. Not going to make their team though.

Brian Butch- He might even be worse than Brian Zoubek! Lol. But really, what are you doing?

Watching the game I expected more out of giddens. Was impressed by jones and Coby (he always impresses me though with his understanding of how to play the game)

He played no time at PG in the game. Played off the ball and rarely looked to pass the ball

With Roddy Beaubois and Dominque Jones on the floor? Yeah ok.
