yea id say they are 32 win max this year, but realistically more towards the low end, 28 or so sounds bout right….definitely just need to realize this isnt gonna be a quick fix without a superstar and i hope thorn doesnt gut two of our shallow positions right now to add another sf (murmurings of harris and favors for granger)…i like what we got, we sign a back up pg and get a rental PF like haslem or maybe even do a trade and bring kenyon over for a year (expiring contract) and send them lee cuz i definitely think lee is gonna have an issue with his playing time this year much like cdr did last year

nvm…i think cleveland is pretty much a 12-70 team and without bosh what are the raptors? everyone else seems to have gotten better but they both regressed

Nets would certainly improve, but playoff is probably out of reach for now.

Outlaw wouldn’t make a difference for the Nets. He’s a solid starter and a great backup but he probably won’t help the Nets win 10 more games.

From the rumors, they will go after Scola and Tyrus Thomas. I think they will overpay to get Tyrus Thomas who could be out of the league in a few years in Stromile Swift style if he doesn’t get himself going on the right track. T-time got all the talent to be a star, but can he reach his full potential? I have serious doubt.

The biggest difference maker would probably be Terrance Williams! That guy can be like Tyreke Evans lite next year.

A staring lineup of
Harris / TWill / Outlaw / T-time / Lopez
can probably take the Nets to be competitive, but I think they would end up fall short and just barely miss the playoff.

They will probably have the worst record. Cleveland might play OK defense (not good, but not terrible), but Toronto will be soft down low, and will be poor all around. Their leading scorer will probably be Bargnani, which isn’t a good thing, and he doesn’t rebound. They could win under 15 games.

If Harris can stay healthy and Johnson uses this team right I can’t see why they wouldn’t be able to make the playoffs. The East is looking like this to me from 1-7; Heat, Magic, Celtics, Bulls, Hawks, Bucks, Bobcats. That leaves Washington, Pacers, Knicks, Philly, Nets all vying for that 8th spot. Can’t see that Nets are any further off than any of these other teams.

Washington: John Wall, Arenas could explode or just not work. Injury to Blatche doesn’t help either. Aside from that, looking pretty bare bones at the moment.

Pacers: Injury to Stephenson in SL is not a good sign. Not sure how serious it is, but if its serious they will still lack a PG, despite good pickups in Magnum Rolle and Paul George. If Stephenson recovers I’d probably give them the nod for 8th spot.

Knicks: They have added STAT, but they lack a C and I just can’t see Amare performing anywhere near aswell without a top notch PG.

Philly: Its early days yet, but Turner seems to be struggling in the SL and despite growth from Holiday I can’t see this being their year.

Nets: Given a healthy Devin Harris and no other injuries here they have the strongest front-court if Lopez continues to grow, arguably the best coach amongst these 5 and two ready to play guys in Damion James and T-Williams.

Toronto, Cleveland won’t be in the hunt, and Detroit just can’t seem to get themselves together.

Given the climate in the East, I can’t see why Avery Johnson couldn’t get this team 8th seed in the East.
