    Of superstar players teaming up together to win championships is going to happen regularly? I mean other superstars have done this in the past, but that argument is moot, because 95% of these guys were past their primes anyway whereas these guys haven’t even hit their primes yet with the exception of Wade who will be 28. I feel like this will not be good for the NBA, and I think that the NBA has officially entered a new type of era, and this will become commonplace with superstars teaming up trying to 1-up other superstar or “big three” teams..

    I think it is great for the NBA and there are new stars waiting to develop now. You have your Stephen Currys, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holidays. The future is coming and coming fast. Miami trio only had a small windom of opportunity. right now KD could be better than Lebron in 2 years.

    It’s not that new. Kareem, Magic, Worthy and Bird, McHale, Parish and it doesn’t always work ( the 3 J’s in Dallas in the mid 90’s ) When Shaq and Kobe brought in Karl Malone and Payton. This free agent class did change the way free agency has worked in the past, but “Big 3” teams aren’t new nor do they guarantee a title, granted these guys together for 6 years or whatever will probably get one or two, but so did the Big 3 teams of the past.

    Yeah, good point but realistically, if the Heat meets expectations, they could dominate the NBA for about 4-5 years at least. By that time, most of those guys you mentioned should have enough “championship” talent around them I believe.

    Well like I said, these guys are relatively young, and Bosh and LeBron haven’t even hit their primes yet. Most of the other guys that were in the “big three” teams were past their primes or guys like Malone and Payton who were jumping on for the ride. This could give the young guys more of an incentive to team up in order to win. I’m sure there will be some, like Durant, who will be loyal, but there will be people on the other side of the fence too.

    Durant is on a good young team where the Gms are making great moves. Why would he leave. I am willing to bet if that team sucked and had overpayed veterans and he was older, He would have gone somewhere else.

    Durant is not being loyal, he is making the best move for him and that just happens to be staying.

    Durant is making more money there and has a great young up and coming team in the West and they put a scare on the eventual NBA champions.

    Yeah, I hear you Steroid, I’m just trying to think of other examples of three superstars. You’re right all of them being in their primes right now is going to be scary, but as far as free agency is concerned I think it’s going to take a class like this who not only is as talented, but as familiar with each other as these guys for this attack at free agency to happen again.
