SealioParticipantThey now only have LBJ, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, Pittman, Varnado, and Butler… if Beasley leaves as expected in the Bosh trade then who else are they going to get to come off the bench?
That is an amazing trio but you still need some bigs to bang with Dwight & Pau.
Comments…Ideas…

sheltwon3ParticipantShaq may go there for less but was said to be looking at Spurs though
Kurt Thomas could be had for cheap
Juwon HowardHeard they are getting Mike Miller
Eddie House maybe signs for vet minimum
Also I am sure there are some d Leaguer who would not mind a call up.
some guys in Summer league played well but have no Job
Delonte West could try to go there if he is waive(bear in mine if that rumor was true then this is not possibly but if the rumor is false he is Lebron’s friend and would already make half a million from a buy out.
I doubt they have a better team that the Lakers though
Richard Jefferson is looking realy stupid right now Everyone is getting deals but him

McWinningParticipantTheyll probably get Anthony for the minimum, hopefully Haslem takes a paycut, i think Damion Johnson could make their roster hes too good a defender.
plenty of options.

doubledribblerParticipantIf Shaq went there it would be crazy, but I’m thinking Wade doesn’t want to be reunited with Shaq and Lebron doesn’t either. I’d love to see Shaq, Tmac and Iverson sign for the minimum there. That would have to get its own tv show.

Counting StarsParticipantIverson is wanting to make a comeback and has no rings…

NYK2010ParticipantIverson doesn’t work he needs the ball in his hands.
Shaq I can see playing for the Spurs or Bulls the minimum to get a 5th ring I don’t see it.
Mike Miller he can get 5-7 million the minimum that would be a surprise but some guys will def. go after a ring.
Eddie House definately makes sense a 3 pt shooter.
I agree RJ is a fool for opting out, but the Clippers, Bulls, Knicks and a few other teams still have cap room.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 6:27pm #349748

PlatypusParticipantBig Z is a free agent why not him, LBJ would be able to get him to miami
Jason Williams aka white chocolate
Raja Bell would be better than Mike MillerChalmerss – Williams
Wade – Bell
LBJ – Butler
Bosh – Varnado
Big Z – Pittmanin the clutch
Wade
Bell (great defender and can shoot the 3)
LBJ
Bosh

Hoops MaestroParticipantThere are plenty of guards and small forwards who can contribute and won’t cost much. Center will be the hardest spot to fill — look what Darko, Haywood, and Frye signed for. I could see Shaq coming back to win another ring or two, to try to pass Kobe….

BasterdInABasketParticipantBOS and ORL would pound MIA if big z bosh vanardo and pitmann are their bigs. They need a kurt thomas type player to be their kendrick perkins. They also need a shooter, redick would be great for them also but $ probably wouldnt work

Hoops MaestroParticipantHas someone posted an accurate breakdown of how much money Miami can actually spend on the rest of the roster? How many slots at how many dollars? Just how much are guys going to have to give up to go there?

JoeWolf1I agree with the Maestro, they still have a big hole at center and not a lot of guys in the league who are good enough to play at least a defensive role for a championship caliber team. I still the the Lakers would beat them with Gasol and Bynum. Kwame Brown would be an okay fit, but he’s only good for 25 minutes a game and Pittman is big yes, but I think he’ll have a little more trouble in the league than he did at Texas ( just look at his Big 12 conference numbers ). I don’t think Shaq is the answer either, unless they played him like every other game and rested him a few weeks before the playoffs. Just not a lot of talent at the C out there right now, and with a weak bench and a lot of big salaries in the books I don’t see a pre deadline trade that would land them anyone significant happening either.

Hoops MaestroParticipantOops — double post…. Thought the money title was counting as spam

mgreener_34ParticipantThey don’t need a great C they need shooters. They are the most athletic team in the league, and will probably lead the league in blocks. Remember the centerless Thunder team in the playoffs? They just need to play solid defense, and rebound which they will do at a great rate. I think Blake would have been perfect, but now that he’s gone they should try to go after a spot of shooter or pg who can shoot the ball.

Hoops MaestroParticipantThey don’t need a great center, but they do need a defensive post presence… Even mediocre centers go for way over the league minimum though.
Shooters are a dime a dozen… I agree they need a couple, but they’re not that hard to find.

Hoops MaestroParticipantHere are the NBA minimum salaries, according to Inside Hoops:
Years in NBA 2010-11

1 762,195
2 854,389
3 885,120
4 915,852
5 992,680
6 1,069,509
7 1,146,337
8 1,223,166
9 1,229,255
10+ 1,352,1810 - Posted on: Thu, 07/08/2010 - 7:06pm #349821

JoeWolf1Yeah, they do need a defensive guy at center. I think they’d be okay with Kwame Brown, honestly, but when you go down the list of other centers available it’s looking pretty bleak.
